Am not sure I would have the patience to make one but I enjoyed the video,it would be a very useful tool to have though.

Thanks Paul, it didn't actually take too long in terms of work time. Though you can also take these measurements on a running engine, if you have one! I figure though with the GT6 everything is worth checking as well as I can given how long it's sat in bits.

Yes when the bolts seize the bushes start to turn and wear prematurely.

A tricky job, why not fit a 123 system? Cheers Bob

Well, the GT6 is as far as I know a very original car. So I’m planning to keep it that way as much as possible. Plus, I found the idea of building this tester really interesting!

@@redfoxclassics I agree with that, you have to have fun when checking/repairing theses things. Look forward to seizing how you get on. Cheers Bob

Off the subject, but av just finished rebuilding the front suspention on the herald ended up getting the angle grinder to it to cut the bolts on the arms where the bushes go,having replaced them about 18 months ago and i put plenty of copper grease on ( cheep bushes) ??

Oh that’s annoying. Yeah, I guess could be the bushes, could’ve been the hardware too if you reused something where the galvanizing was already gone? I’ve tended to go for poly bushes more recently just cause they’re sooooo much easier to fit. Haven’t taken any apart again yet though so I can’t say if they’re any longer lasting in that respect.
