Look at young Sonu listening. These are the influences that made him what he is today, India's greatest singer. The west of them will never get this good fortune of meeting and learning from the legends. Hoper the younger singers can learn from Sonu ji himself, now a legend.
Sadly no credit to O P Nayyar the swarkartha. A singer can only embellish and enhance a tune with his skills in rendition. Rafi ji was never a great music director and thankfully did not dabble with it like yesudas and SPB!
Rafi only had few good songs, being a music major SPB is able to hit notes more clearly, SP has clear tonality and clarity when he sings a note. Rafi sounds good for his time but the 20th century is all SPB you’re the true legend your voice is sweeter than honey. Compare SP to Rafi at 80 years of age I highly doubt Rafi could hit any note like SP who still at such an old age can sing powerful high notes without sounding nasally or congested.
