- This is a video on how to setup a Series 4 Kegerator. We have a few different variations to this particular kegerator with different couplings and different number of taps but the basic setup is more or less the same.
We understand this is a long video so if you use the links below this will help you to jump directly to the
0:28 - Installing castor wheels
3:14 - Installing shanks to your font/tower
7:46 - Installing taps
10:47 - Installing the CO2 cylinder bracket and CO2 cylinder
14:11 - Removing glass rack and setting up gas lines
21:05 - MK4 regulator setup and usage
25:53 - Setting up and balancing your beer lines
New fridge looks great! Man, those push fittings make it soooo much easier!!
Yes the duotight fittings are really popular and they do make the installation really easy. We have been reluctant to do push in fittings in the past as some types are not very good quality but the duotight fittings have the best tight and leakproof seal we have ever used making them as reliable as barb and hose clamp fittings.
@@KegLand are the duotight fittings included?
Very detailed, thanks. I’m setting up the X tomorrow. I assume it’s relatively the same… cheers from the US!
Yes the American 110v models are pretty much identical other than the 110v compressor.
Thanks for the informative video man. that's such great help
Hey this is a great instructional video, I wish I had of watched it before setting my keg king up. (I made many mistakes).
Thanks for the instructional , really think that $1 auto shut spring could have been thrown in with the kit or maybe send a bag to your top buyers and sellers and at least let them chuck us a free spring for the middle tap just to be nice , sharing is careing.
Why would you not mention putting the steel ring over the tap tower.... I just put it all together to realise the ring wasn't on it and I had to take it all apart and start again!!!!!
Very sorry about that. Yes we should have detailed that in the instructions. I can imagine how frustrating that would be.
@T W roflmao
Thanks for your comment about this luckily I seen this error before I set mine up 😁 saved me from the stress your a champion👍
@@KegLand I’m getting beer in my gas line help just got one tap for my birthday
What Great vid , Thank you , well done and thank you for your time to make the vids
Thanks. Appreciate the support.
What an amazing product! And thankks for your great presentaion of it! Can I place the gas bottle inside?
With setting up multiple lines with the T piece. Will gas leak out of the other connections if say you set up for a 3 font tap system but only had one keg onfor now. Or do the ball lock fittings stop the gas from leaking out when connected. Hope this makes sense. Just setting mine up and I'm unsure
The tee piece will allow gas to flow in all directions.
Generally speaking it's best to have a ball lock disconnect on the end of each line so if you disconnect the gas flow will stop
Thanks very informative.
Thanks for the very informative video!! I was considering making my own keggerator with an old mini fridge and ikegger parts, would end up costing a bit less but I'd be working with 10 litre kegs, im gonna save up for a series X, I think, now. Quick question though, what if I were to have a home bar and wanted to install the series X into the bar, can I install the font on top of the wooden bar? I'll have a door big enough in the bar so I can open the keggerator door, also is it possible to have the regulator and gas bottle in the fridge or next to the fridge it will be flush against the wall. It will be a self serve bar, not one like at a pub. Cheers 🍻🍻
Absolutely. Many of our customers put the font/taps ontop of a bar. Just make sure you design your bar top high enough. This is the mistake that most people make and make the bar top a bit too low. Yes you can put the gas cylinder and regulator in the fridge if you want but you have to sacrifice one keg space to do this. Most people keep it in a cuboard near by or somewhere else.
I'm looking to do a DIY rig similar to this, but looking to design a Venturi inline dosing, so I can use post mix syrup or any other syrup in a suitable container so I can get cola on tap or any other sweet drink.
How will you control the ratio of syrup? I would have thought this will be difficult with Venturi.
So I need to buy the gas fittings and keg connectors seperatley?
Those duotight compatible short shanks are GAME CHANGING! I've been out brewing for a few years, but this was number one on my wishlist of products back when I was kegging regularly. Are they compatible with most taps, or just intertap/nukatap? I have some existing perlicks from way back, but these new generation nukataps look very tempting to upgrade to....
Hey Simon. The duotight shanks are compatible with all that's that we have tried. We tested all the major tap brands and they seem to work fine.
The perlicks are a good tap but they do have a tendency to leak sometimes. The nukataps are more reliable in my opinion. I am not really a bit fan of the idea of a floating o-ring design that is in the perlick taps.
@@KegLand cheers mate. Haven't used my perlicks in years tbh, so I have no idea what condition they're in. Might end up with some nukataps after all
How to you release the pressure from the keg side if there is no pressure release valve on the keg, also should there be pressure in the keg before it even gets hooked up? Cheers
And no release valve on coupler
Would be great if you mentioned putting the dress ring on the font before putting it all together😁
Thanks for this. This is a really valid point. That is really annoying to get to the end then have to remove all the tap shanks.
Can you install the CO2 inside the fridge?
The build quality looks great. I would suggest you check prior to purchasing whether it does come with the new connectors or the old barb ones. I purchased mine early sept 2019 so was disappointed to find it came with the old barbed fittings. Given the video states new fittings are provided from 2019 I also think this is misleading. Had I known how difficult and frustrating it is to attach 4mm beer line supplied to the barbed fittings I honestly don’t think I would have purchased the unit at all. Several days on looking at upgrading to new improved fittings. But despite KegLand selling extensively in New Zealand no one seems to stock these new tap upgraded shanks and KegLand Australia while they have them in stock don’t ship outside Australia. On KegLands own site in the description of the new fittings it makes reference to how difficult the previous barbed fittings were. I chose the KegLands kegerator after a lot of research however missed this issue which is stopping me having a working kegerator at present.
that doesn't sound correct. Did you purchase this from www.KegLand.com.au off our website. As far as I am aware we have been using all the new push in fittings in our kits for quite some time now
Purchased in New Zealand
@@brucegreen8954 sorry about that. We have more than 60 international distributors and it's very difficult for us to keep track of which retailer has which stock. It's also hard to enforce all distributors turnover the stock with FIFO policy too. I know from start of 2019 all units sold by our main distribution centre were getting shipped out with the new connectors but then this may take a few months to trickle down to all the distributors.
also, apart from echoing the steel ring tap tower comment ... an AV suggestion - watch that white balance on the camera, I'd switch it to manual :)
thanks for that tip. Really appreciate it!
How do you attach the gas manifolds?
I've got a dual tower setup with a dual primary regulator leading to two manifolds. I need to attach the manifolds but two-faced tape doesn't stick to the aluminum manifold. I'm leery to screw into the wall or ceiling of the kegerator, but it's also a pain in the arse having all my gas lines flop around.
Should I screw? And where should I screw if indeed I should screw? And what screws should I screw with if I need to screw?
We prefer using inline regulators on a gas board. Best not to drill or screw into the kegerator. This will void warranty.
@@KegLand I appreciate your response. I haven't screwed, I suspected it might void the warranty.
What I've ended up doing is splitting the lines with stainless steel tees. It's now a lot easier to move my kegs around. Unfortunately it means I've wasted $75 on 2 manifolds.
FUCK!!! WHY DIDNT I WATCH THIS VIDEO EARLIER!?!”!?!” I FUCKED UP MY KEGARATOR.
Where did I get the tap shank and outside attachment mounted on beer tower?
I am not sure which bit you mean?
I currently both homebrew beer and ginger beer (the non alchoholic kind) and am getting tired of the bottling tedium.
If I wanted to start kegging and set up a kegerator, could I dispense the gingerbeer from the keg using the same pressure line as the beer? or would it need to be a different pressure / not pressurized at all?
I would think it would be the same. But you can always tweak it a bit to your liking.
Hi Kegland
I have purchased this and I used the maximum of beer line I received with the kit. I did the water test and am getting over 500ml in 10 sec.
When I did the water test I had the keg pressurised at pouring pressure, was I supposed to do this or did I not need to connect the gas at all?
You need to keep the gas connected at all times.
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Hi I’ve just purchased the one tap version have it all set up but I’m getting beer shooting up my gas line please help
Your kegs are probably a bit too full. Many customers do not fill the beer right up to the gas post.
One thing you can do is always pull the PRV on the keg before disconnecting the gas line and this will also prevent this from happening.
Doesnit matter where the fan is placed inside the fridge to circulate the air?
Why do you ask? Did you want to mvoe the fan location?
@@KegLand just asking in general. I have a very similar kegarator but it didnt have a fan so I out a tower cooler in myself.
I really appreciate your youtube channel! It has a lot of really good info and products!!!
Will be ordering your Nukatap soon. Thanks. All the way from Canada.
@@walleyeye No worries at all. Thanks for your support, we really appreciate it!
I'm a little confused about the fermenter part of it. It says the temp range of this is 23-82°F. Does this have a built in heater inside of it to get to those warmer temps?
There's no heater. That temp control only determines when the cooling compressor turns on.
I bought a 8mm - 6.5mm duotight connector, but my 6.5mm definitely doesn't fit down on the faucet barb like you show. Am I doing something wrong?
I am having the same problem
It's been almost 2 weeks and I still couldn't manage to ensemble this thing
After ordering multiple fittings I am convinced that this isn't a well designed and finished product
I don't think any home appliance should be this complicated to build
I am thinking about returning it this week
I ended up figuring it out. You have to pull out the little tab inside the 6.5mm side (the one that has the hooks into the hose). Then it will slide over the barb. I've been using it now over a week and doesn't seem to be leaking at all. Apart from that confusion, I had everything I needed in the kit.
Why doesn't it come with a build manual
why doe my temperature not go above 5
that's really hard to answer without more information. I would suggest your first point of contact is to contact your retailer that you purchased the fridge from and they can give you some setup advice.
Damita
audacity again - fix that volume champ. great info but need to be a dog to hear it
open your ears

audio quality was really terrible
too much work
It's a bit of work but you only have to setup the fridge once.
Great video
