I really liked the small handful of Quick Cuts videos that were made. It's a shame Jay was the only one of the crew actually interested in doing them, when the original idea was supposed to be that everyone would make occasional entries, and that kind of deflated his enthusiasm for it according to what he said in one of the Pre Rec streams. I still wouldn't mind a return of Quick Cuts, even if it was only ever Jay.
I get the feeling it's more that it was a "when we have time" thing and it's likely Jay had some time while the others were working on other projects and couldn't film
@@xtzyshuadog Thing is there are a ton of movies they wouldn't make a full Re:View for. These short 5-10m videos were great for specific movies, and there are probably a lot of movies we don't know about because they didn't do any more Quick Cuts :

I've been going over all RLM's playlists and I missed these quickcuts. I really like this format, kind of a shame they don't have their own playlist and that there aren't more of these.
I like this short format. I also like the long half-in-the-bag episodes, but I was always wondering if their mere length did not limit the number of films you can review.
I just found this quick cut series and I understand it doesn't get as many views so it's not worth the effort maybe but you should consider doing these every now and then. I really like them. that's all I got
I'd love to see more of those Quick Cut videos. Just watched all of Jays recommended Halloween viewings and I appreciate it when he gets the chance to talk seriously about obscure little movies without having to joke about it
I think a documentary about the shooting of this movie would be much more interesting than the movie itself. If it's ever released in some form with a director's commentary I would definitely be all over it, but just as a film, it seems pretty skippable.
This is really cool. I wish they would tackle this style again. It's refreshing to see their genuine thoughts on a movie without a gag - not that the gags are bad, this is like seeing your best friend at work and seeing them act professionally. Would love to see more of this and delve into everyone and what they enjoy, just like Mike and Willy Wonka.
I love this style of video, please do some more on your favorite absurdist films and non-linear artsy stuff, I really enjoy your take on these style of films, good job ol chap
Isn't trying to create a fantasy world in stark contrast to reality kind of the point of places like Disneyland? Why do so many people have a problem with momentary escapism? It's called "a vacation"!
yes, that's kind of the point. people have a problem with "too much" escapism & people disagree about how much is too much. it's also easy to claim someone's opinion is invalid because they escape too much and therefore don't understand the world. so you'll see people claim entire demographics have been ruined by escapism, because it's not necessary to listen to the words of someone with a weak grasp of reality.
"You should see it just to marvel at what they got away with." Actually, they got away with very little. They brought DSLRs into a theme park, which is very easy to do, people bring cameras into Disneyland/Disneyworld all the time. But if they had snuck a Red camera into the park, that would be impressive!
I wouldn't be surprised if the film just a ton of random b roll they had to assemble into something coherent, it's pretty much how guerrilla shooting works.
I look forward to many years of Quick Cuts. Finally this channel is good. That bag show has no future glad there won't be anymore of that.. .only 1000 quick cuts.
I watched this movie in a Panera in downtown Chicago on my laptop when I was stranded there in the middle of February after missing my bus on the way to Omaha. The Panera was up the street from union station by a Walgreens if you’ve ever been there.
Well Disney got it's wish because it seems this movie is fading away fast and looking back when it was release it rely way too much on the idea that Disney would sue and give it free publicity . Plus the story is mediocre . It tries to do so much stuff but fails to get any point across and even it's social commentary on Disney just feels so clique and tired . Plus the juvenile humor just ruins any creepy atmosphere it all going for it and it's better suited instead for a showing at Adult swim.
I JUST watched this film, and I agree that it is weird for the sake of being weird. A bad movie so confusing that people praise it in order to appear hip.
You guys should start doing more reviews like this. Nothing fancy, just a quick discussion of a film, as opposed to a heavier format like Half in the Bag or Best of the Worst.
You should do more of these Jay, some of just your own is really informative and interesting. Still love Mike and Mr.P but can you not also add a few like this ?? Please !
I'm glad Jay coveres this lol of all the RLM cast he is the ideal guy to cover this film, and I'm glad that despite the problems he had with the movie he still recommends it
Lovely review, but I'm so bored by the idea and description of this movie that there's very little chance I'll get around to seeing it. Also I kinda doubt by the scenes shown that those people didn't know they were being filmed ... sounds like hype to get the film seen to me.
What was up with his moustache? Was it the lighting? It looked like his moustache was wearing a moustache. Its in the center of his mouth on the left hand side, is it a patch of blonde hair? I was so distracted by it, I ended up watching this video twice because I missed what he was saying. Anyways, love the show(s), keep up the good work.

Yeah that's a bummer none of the crew wanted to do them with him. I'd love to see more too
Couldn't agree more.

Quick Cuts is great, and really refreshing to hear Jay's uninterrupted take on things. I'd like to see Mike do this in the future.
4 SCORE YEARS AND SEVEN YEARS AGOOO
mr Plinkett is Mike's uninterupted opinions
I wouldn't mind if all the guys got a short video like this.
Never again

I spent almost 40 minutes talking about this movie and Jay sums it up perfectly in 5 minutes.... well then.
See also; Jenny Nicholson.
"See also; Jenny Nicholson" Good advice under any circumstances
Quantity doesn't always mean quality. Don't put yourself down because you compared your process of movie discussion to someone else. :)

@@TheVolginator ... okay
EfT has the same problem as Deer Stand Saftey: they both have great cover art but the actual films are fairly underwhelming.
I know I love ithe cover art! I thought this movie would be more complex.
You know it's an inconsequential movie when more of the comments are talking about Quick Cuts than the movie.

I love the quick cuts. This and nerd crew -- I will watch all of them that you make.
I actually want more Quick cuts like this but it can be not limited to Jay but anybody who wants to talk about something where no one else is into.

I thought he was going to say "The Shining"
hehe
I enjoyed this, but I like the dialogue style of half in the bag a lot more. Mike and Jay have such great banter!
Yeah, all that lightning.

I'm here because Quick Cuts was mentioned on the new show.
Why am I just finding out about quick cuts now? I would love more of these

It helps fill the void between episodes of "Half in the Bag".
Is quick cuts replacing half in the- oh, this is from 2013
This is actually a really nice review format, keep it up!
so basically this is just jay's twitter

Great format!
This was an awesome idea! Great review! I hadn't even heard of this movie!
Is this replacing re:View?
Good format. Keep at it.
So far, HiTB, BoTW, Mr Plinkett and this can work for a good variety of high quality content.

Wish he would do more of these.

Thanks for the heads up. Aieee!
I've been wanting to see this movie so bad, because I thought it reminded me of the "Abandoned by Disney" Creepypasta.

The ending!!
I saw this movie last night and I actually really enjoyed it
My biggest impression of this movie was that it captures the horror of getting old, sort of mid life crisis horror
Nice format.
Mr. Plinkett liked the movie because it reminds him of doing acid in the 60s. Funny enough he was also in his 60s at the time
I see that the other guy is reviewing this movie but where’s Mike?
CAT. FLU.

But would you recommend it?

The upper hairs stand out because they're the same length as the rest of it. It's hard to keep a moustache even and harder to make it look even.
oh my goodness, glad I'm not the only one
When is the next quick cuts review?
Jay, your beard is immaculate.
