The Sikorsky S-76 is a beautiful piece of machinery. There have been very few deadly incidents involving larger helicopters to date. It was tragic that Kobe Bryant (traveling with family and friends) and the Agustawestland AW169 ferrying UK football boss Mr Srivaddhanaprabha, (also with family and friends), died in such unpredictable and tragic circumstances. I`m still of the opinion, helicopters, when piloted responsibly and maintained correctly, are still the safest way to travel comfortably and quickly... compared to cars. Unfortunately, when they do crash, it makes headlines.
Good to see a company sparing the expense of having a co-pilot aboard. The right thing to do. And look at that weather. This video should be a tutorial for charter companies.
Agreed, that is a lot of helicopter for one person. VFR Helicopter Charter companies should be prohibited from obtaining Special VFR unless no passengers are on board and operating Part 91. That in itself would grossly increase safety.
If I were mayor of a city with a lot of helipads I'd push for two pilot ops at all times and twin engined helicopters only. And mandatory synthetic vision gear.
@@karkule5919 S76, if I remember correctly is not certified for VFR single pilot. Single pilot is allowed if flying IFR. But this is just me going from memory. I don't think I'd want to fly single pilot VFR in one of these.. it's a lot of helicopter to handle.
Hate to break it to you, but in most Sikorsky helicopters, the SECOND in command is on the left - Pilot in command is on the right. So all you watched is the copilot, not the one actually flying the aircraft.
Flight plans can be filed online. Most people don't even file flight plans unless you're flying far (amd even then not always), are with a company, or under instrument conditions (bad weather)
tim mayer wrong. How do people keep spreading misinformation when the damn report is out? He tried to ascend above the clouds, got disoriented, started banking left and then into a nosedive. By the time he realized what happened, he was going 180 mph and had no time to recover. He was 100 ft from breaking through the top of the clouds before he got disoriented.
In combat, a helmet provides protection from flying debris. The same goes for rescue. This service is more liesure and has little risk of flying debris in the cockpit.
I was in oil and gas aviation, and some of us did wear helmets. It really depends on the operation. Plenty of low level utility operators do. If something goes bad low level, there's not much time for recovery, and can increase your chance of survival in a crash, or being able to save the aircraft in the event of a bird strike.
if you want safe buy an airline or train ticket... second a truck, car, and motorcycle have better safety records then any general aviation aircraft or helicopter.... I’ve personally flown as a general aviation pilot and I’ve been to more general aviation accident funerals verse my buddy who past in s car crash.. more people die in car accidents but if their was more general aviation airplanes to cars the death rate would be higher in small planes.

You don't need 2 pilots in good weather flying VFR. And in bad weather you just don't fly.

@@ashleymitchell3490 I don't think the company was certified to fly IFR even though they say the pilot himself was certified.
Nice JRB departure
So cool how they drive it around on its wheels like that.
In the same way they fly it. Just point it in the direction you want to go.

Murdabenne still hot
Guy just HAD to make his stupid little point. Who cares if she was the main pilot or not? We all gotta start from somewhere. Idiot!
No shit......
As PIC, I would rather manage the flight and let the co-pilot do the flying.
Murdabenne so?
Very Nic aircraft... Smooth landing
That landing though 🤤
I thought the same thing. Must be an ex military pilot.
Eine wunderschöne Aufnahme
So Kobe dies in a helicopter and google starts recommending 8 yr old videos featuring the same make and model🤷🏻🤦♂️
Because is has Sikorsky in the name.
Nothing wrong with the helicopter I am still going to buy one S76B model same as Kobe’s, accidents happen especially pilot errors.
Arthur Mhlanga you’re not buying shit.
PIlot Error Case Closed!
Raul Gutierrez you already read the NTSB report that comes out next year? Wow
Sounds like a UH-60 from the inside
It’s sad How when Kobe And Gianna and the Rest Passed Away 😓 The recommendation s of the helicopter they were in start showing 😓😭 Kobe And GiGi 💔
This is not the same Model cause Kobes Model have a Wall between Pilot and Passengers
@@tassoss1 it wasn't his chopper. But it was a model B, this is a model A
The only thing I can't stand about this helicopter is the ever-increasing air siren racket inside that cabin. Its loud you can't hear eachother talk.
Take off , hover& landing s 76 on X PLane 10 is difficult
How much room do you need to make a 180 degree turn?
You need a lot if you going 175mph
No fucking way would I fly in that thing. It doesn't look safe loud as hell inside the cabin
Sikorsky S76A. M250-C30B engine ?
Why do most aircraft videos not show outside shots of the aircraft. Short flight.
I wonder where do helicopter pilots file their flight plan when flying from building/house to building/house.

I think it's funny that the comments think the chick is flying. The person in the right seat is flying.

How come some copter pilots wear helmets, like military and rescue when others tour, oil & gas, general aviation, do not!?
