It's really interesting that the sakuramochi's packaging is done like the traditional sakuramochi! It's so cute! (Just in case if you haven't had it before sakuramochi is a type of wagashi with mochi with a red bean filling, topped with a salted cherry blossom leaf. Tokara in Seattle makes them for hanabi season and it's such an intense contrast of tart and sweet! I absolutely get Bokksu not shipping those though, they're delicate and not remotely up for a plane journey.)

I love Japanese snacks. But I’ve lived in Japan many times over the years and i see these snacks and I look at the monthly subscription fee and try to calculate the value. I know some of the snacks are exclusive but you can get another brand which makes the same or similar snack. Looking at the value of these items and the cost of the box it would have to be half the price for me.

I like choosing what I get so instead of the subscription I went to the website and I purchase What I want from the options that they have here in the US. Instead of getting small individual pieces I get a whole bag of whatever I choose. I just got a can of kanimiso from them. Going to eat it on top of hot rice.

I ate all the ones that arrived last month, in one day. Expecting more the next day. But, zero. The FAILURE was real, the feeling. but, finally, some arrived this Monday. But, none yesterday.
