There's a group called Patriotic Alternative, who plan on becoming a political party in the UK. You may want to check them out. On their website you'll find what is called "Our Plan" which is really their manifesto. In this plan there's a lot of things they said they will do if they ever get into Government, one of those things is Freedom of Speech, ACTUAL Freedom of Speech, not the typical "Yes you can say this and that, buuuuut", none of that crap. Their plan/manifesto also says that they would never allow foreigners or people born here without Scottish, English, Welsh or N Irish heritage and ancestry to be allowed to hold any level of power in UK politics. So if you're interested then check them out.
I am half Scottish and half English, always proud of both until the last five or six years when I've I've increasingly felt like I have to drop my Scottish heritage because of it's association with having to hate the other half of my heritage. Thoroughly enjoyed listening to Neil Oliver’s views on these issues. I’m from Glasgow and I was previously a Yes/SNP supporter until I came to a realisation that their views became toxic and to far-left for my liking; far from being realistic and plausible to be able to govern ourselves in a society that I would like to live in. We already have had incidents in the England where the police have turned up on doorsteps to warn and even prosecuted civilians for speaking up. Nigel Farage was one and the other who I can’t remember his name, was an ex policeman so he knew his rights. He actually one his case in court. He was interviewed on Triggonometry about a year ago.

I was in my beloved Argyll just weeks ago and I'm glad to hear that it is not just my wife and I who felt the very uncomfortable atmosphere. In the town of Oban which is our nearest shopping location, the intensely discomforting atmosphere was palpable. We were unable to define the feeling but it was almost overwhelming. Neither of us said anything at the time but as we drove out we agreed that neither of us wished to return on this trip. The town was dying on its feet, relying as it does, heavily on the tourist trade which was almost entirely absent. We had put it down to the fear of virus but that didn't seem enough. I do hope that they turn it around soon. Our neighbours up there, many of whom I have known for forty years, just didn't seem themselves. I hope that the next Scottish Parliament elections will be the opportunity to consider the future for this fine nation.
We all know this not correct, going by those that have sadly taken their own lives, after being bullied on the nett etc, but what is happening in Scotland is unbelievable and your average Scottish person has not got a clue as to what their own government is doing to their laws. Horrendous to say the least, never seen a government try to keep material from being published.
Except every thing hurts their feelings these days .....Life as we all know is not always easy , yet we soldier on get on with it and deal with it . Seems there is a loud minority that feels that every thing is offensive , if it was left to them nothing would get done and civilisation would fall . Just look at America with Chop/Chaz , that is the future we will have if we let them idiots get their way .

I am half Scottish and half English, always proud of both until the last five or six years when I've I've increasingly felt like I have to drop my Scottish heritage because of it's association with having to hate the other half of my heritage. Sad but that's just how I feel at the moment. I hope it gets sorted.

Thoroughly enjoyed listening to Neil Oliver’s views on these issues. I’m from Glasgow and I was previously a Yes/SNP supporter until I came to a realisation that their views became toxic and to far-left for my liking; far from being realistic and plausible to be able to govern ourselves in a society that I would like to live in. Not to mention that Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP would sell Scotland out to the EU which I do not want any part of. It is beyond reform and accountability and I hope it disbands!

We already have had incidents in the England where the police have turned up on doorsteps to warn and even prosecuted civilians for speaking up. I was in my beloved Argyll just weeks ago and I'm glad to hear that it is not just my wife and I who felt the very uncomfortable atmosphere. In the town of Oban which is our nearest shopping location, the intensely discomforting atmosphere was palpable. We were unable to define the feeling but it was almost overwhelming. Neither of us said anything at the time but as we drove out we agreed that neither of us wished to return on this trip. The town was dying on its feet, relying as it does, heavily on the tourist trade which was almost entirely absent. We had put it down to the fear of virus but that didn't seem enough. I do hope that they turn it around soon. Our neighbours up there, many of whom I have known for forty years, just didn't seem themselves. I hope that the next Scottish Parliament elections will be the opportunity to consider the future for this fine nation.

The issue of intent has far reaching consequences as Neil pointed out. However, I wonder how much the intent of the accuser will be taken into consideration when a claim of being offended is made. A counter claim of wrongful accusation in claiming offence when there is none would also be difficult to defend.
In count dankulas case the courts stated that the intention of his nazi pug joke wasn't a factor in his case of being accused of a hate crime. If they don't like you and your political views they will find you guilty.
