    The radiator can absolutely be separated from the condenser coil inside the vehicle. support the condenser, i used zip ties. Remove passenger side headlight, and you can access the clip on top. the new radiator has the clip so you can pry the old clip off without worrying about breaking it, then it is just wiggling it out.

    Great video.When refitting use cable ties to hold up radiator and intercooler ( on tdci’s), put bottom rubber mounts into bottom radiator support first then bolt it up then cut cable ties.
    Saves a lot of wiggling .

    Separating radiator from condenser while still in position in the car to avoid having to purge and refill A/C was easy, and had more problems changing the thermostat. The re-assembly was a breeze as well. Before you re-install the small pick up tube, ensure the O-Ring is still is position, as mine went missing. a final note, I just realised that it is easier to remove the entire air filter box to change air filter than fighting with the cover while in position.

    I just had to replace my fan on 2015 Focus ST and it was very difficult. No room to pull the upper tabs off the clips and no room to pull it out from bottom or top.

    What about removing the top of the radiator support would that be easier then going thru bottom?

    • @caughtoncam4800
      @caughtoncam4800 3 года назад +1

      I would definitely not be easier, as not purging AC and bottom removal/re-installation took less than 2 hours, while doing it from the top involves removing headlights and entire front bumper, which only means body panel re-alignment to rematch fenders/bumper

    Good video but this fan removal does not work on 2012 to 2018 focus ST. Have to remove the entire bumper and everything behind it then pull intercoolers, then radiator, condenser and fan all as one. Takes over 3 hours with skills. Need a lift too.
