Great vids! Very clear explanations, and great video quality. It really helps follow along when the icons and text on cards are nice and sharp. Thank you for creating these tuts. 👍🏼
Very useful thanks! In your opinion, is it useful to upgrade the decks before doing anything else with experience? Maybe upgrading one attribute just to match more cards could be useful but it takes a lot of experience and encounters are hard without good cards
Very happy you found the video useful! So I used 2 characters. One I used as a fighter and the other as a diplomat. For each character I only upgraded the corresponding deck and the corresponding attributes. One time I would upgrade their deck then the next time an attribute and then back to the deck. Also every once in a while I would upgrade the other deck just so they weren’t entirely useless with that type of encounter. This was just something I pretty much arbitrarily came up with but it seemed to work out pretty well. Hope that all makes sense!
The way I understood diplomacy, when you connect an applicable attribute with a knot, you get the entirety of the box. For example, if you connect empathy with a Celtic knot (and obviously have the appropriate amount) and the box has the empathy symbol as well as a cautious symbol both with arrows pointing up, you would get both bonuses as long as you have the appropriate amount. What you said also makes sense, but it seems as though it's checking too many 'if's either way. Was this rule specified in the rulebook? I also did not realize the combat cards that said, "add *universal block* for each *attribute symbol*" meant each one in the combat chain that you have connected. I thought it was just for the amount of points your character has in that attribute.
Sorry I seem to have missed this comment. I agree the rulebook leaves something to be desired. However, both of rules you’re asking about have been clarified in the forums of Board Game Geek.
This is specified in the rulebook in the diplomacy example round, specifically on Turn 3. You can see that one of the box has arrow up for Caution and Spirituality, but the card only connects to Caution and the cube is moved 1 space only.
Hi, I would have a tricky question. In a diplomacy encounter the enemy response is a damage, can you defend it with an armor or with a shield? The skull icon is the same, the round is the same as in combat, however still not sure.
I have a question. Because of some monster's feature after my turn he will use opportunity attack. I put some cards aside the monster's card and on the last one I have a special condition that I will lose one hitpoint. Question is. Should I lose this one hitpoint during the monster's opportunity attack or not?
So it's any connected diplomacy key as long as it shows the bonus knot? So in your example empathy has a knot, so it goes up one, but spirituality has a card draw. Would you only draw the card, or would you draw the card and since you connected the spirituality key it also goes up as a bonus?
During Diplomacy encounters the Celtic Knots only provide a bonus when connecting an attribute that is listed on the stage you're currently trying to beat on the Diplomacy encounter. However, all other bonuses still apply as they normally would (as long as you meet the attribute requirements with that character). It's a little confusing at first but does that answer your question? And thanks for watching, Eric!
@@BoredOnlineBoardOffline I'm still a little confused. So in your example with the "Mourners" card, the bonus shows up arrows for empathy and spirituality. So say I connect a card with a spirituality key that has draw a card on it. Since I connected a spirituality key does it go up? Or only if that spirituality key has a knot? I think I might be playing wrong
You only trigger the Celtic Knot bonus when you connect a Key with a Celtic Knot that matches the indicated attribute. If instead you connect one with a “Draw Card” symbol then you draw a card but don’t trigger the Celtic Knot bonus.
I dont understand when you cant play a card and the opportunity attack is activated .....Free keys dosent count cause you can always play a card and connect tne free keys
I very much appreciate the time and effort you placed into creating this video. Very well done indeed. Thank you very much!
Very happy or was helpful!
Thank you, by far the best explanation on youtube
Thank you for the kind words, John!

I play diplomacy encounters as you say. It makes sens to me. The rule book does notre specify about this point... So...
