@@HollywoodConnection_LA I used to refuel Jet Rangers and Augusta 109's a lot during the 1980's/90's. I loved the smell of jet exhaust then and now! I also hated to have to wash out my overalls.....the feint smell of Jet A1 clinging to them at the end if the week was rather good! (People just think I'm weird! 🤣)
@@Colin8979 THe older HUghes 500's made by Hughes had the round nose & the newer MD 500 / 530's made by McDonnell Douglas AKA MD Helicopters have the pointed nose and of course any newer improvements.
Was this temporarily set up for right seat pilot or is it permanently like that? I thought the 500 usually had pilot left seat. The left collective looked basic and I presume the left side person was the passenger (filming and feet off pedals)
@@irisaviation852 Such an amazing machine. If MD could only make one of these but with the no fatigue life limited components of the Cabri G2 and I bet a lot of private fliers would be skipping the robbys.
That never gets old. The best sound ever created by any machine! I can smell that jet exhaust from here! Lovely flight, thanks for posting.
wish there was a way RUclips could emit smells through the speakers to get a whif of that JET-A 😁😆

I appreciate the close-up camera work on the critical instruments during startup and shutdown. Thanks for that.
Hard to believe that is 30 years old! I look at the nosecone and say, "Oooh the new nose on that bird!" ....I think that means I'm old....
Great video. How cool to be picked up and flown to pick up my helicopter. Great afternoon Mark
That startup sound is the most beautiful sound ever! Thanks for sharing.
I’m looking forward to seeing more flights with the ride along
Love the paint job!
Excellent video love the sounds and sights, I love these little flying eggs👍👏
Thanks….the angry egg
The 500's sound so unique, can always pick em coming form miles away. Nice farm too by the way !!
Thanks so much for the ride over rural UK
My favorite Helicopter that I would love to operate southend Aviation
I just love that helicopter !!
Thank you for the gauge views. They made perfect sense.
What a great video! Love seeing Southend like that (and could just about see my house!)
The Hughes 500's & MD500's are my favorite helicopters. I really enjoyed watching your video - Huge Like & Subscribed 👍😎
What is the difference between the two? I've been trying to source I kind of list comparison if available TIA

Wow! That startup was amazing! What an awesome flight and video! 🖖😀
First time here and I love the remote control dolly to make moving the Helicopter in any position in the Hangar that’s available
How does all the engine and mechanics fit in such a small space remarkable piece of engineering
It has a sceanic view, good to watch.
amazing video
Love me the Hughes helicopter ❤
Beautiful
Incredible video mate!
Good performance, takeoff perfect
Man that sounds sweet !
Beautiful Aircraft you guys are privileged
Awesome! Thank you!
This is so cool, I'm about to do this in FS2004 and I'm amazed how similar it looks, just much better flying lol
If you still using a sim from 19 years ago you are doing it wrong. FS2024 coming out soon and everyone else been on 2020 for a while.
why did he start the timer before starting the engine?
Nice flying. I would rather have had headset audio than cabin noise. Not a big problem; I just lowered my volume.
It’s hard to get the right plug for the go pro

This one is converted to right PIC. Good spot.
I want one so bad!!
Bit close on the TOT 🧐
Does the pilot prefer to fly from the right hand side?
The pilot position is on the right for all helicopters
@@Thedoctv That's BS! The MD 500 flies from the left.
@@elliottdiedrich3068 Ours doesn't. It's a military or civilian type of thing
@@Thedoctv I suppose you could fly from the right with dual controls but the manual says to fly it from the left.
@@elliottdiedrich3068 Depends on the version. Our NH-500E has the pilot position on the right
Great vid, thanks for sharing. Your heli is absolutely beautiful.
N#s in the UK?
Yes lots here, it’s now on the G reg
This helicopter have auto pilot?
No
1:54 is not 2:00 mins
Are you talking about the warm up or shut down?
The throttle is shut before the timer is started by a good few seconds.
That startup is pure gas turbine pornography
The TOT
It's Maryland helicopters, not McDonall. Douglas
My squadron flew those back in WW2 !! 😂
Nice video. (please use your other finger) LOL
Sorry…:)
Do want.
Why the Lockheed Skunk? This is like having Man City badges on a Man Utd shirt. 🤣
Always wondered if it was from that. Has a few more random stickers now.
It's not McDonald's Douglas its HUGHES
69 Echo
Nice. Whats the fuel burn?
About 120ltrs an hour
@@irisaviation852 that would be at cruise?
@@LabiaLickeryes. Plan at 130 but normally 120 an hour. 120ltrs = 120kts. 100ltrs = 100kts.
