So many of the "treasures" that were uncovered are on display in the museum in Naples. You went at the right time of the year, we went in June and it was hot enough to relive the eruption of Vesuvius
As a Brit, I have been to Naples many times but always wanted to do the sight seeing of Pompeii, I did and it was spectacular, I added in a visit to Herculaneum and climbed to the top of Versuvious / Somma, all this in 39°c of heat which, as a 57 year old, I found quite tough, if I have some advice, it would be to go in the cooler Months! Anyway, put it on your bucket list it will not disappoint. Great video, feels like I'm back there.

I had an OMG moment when you said Pink Floyd played in that amphitheater in 1971. What an experience that would have been. My husband was just a year old, and I wasn't even thought or a blip on the radar for another 3 years, but I would love to have been there. My hubby and I are visiting Pompeii in less than 60 days and we are excited to see it even if Pink Floyd is not playing. Great video with excellent info.

Im going to pompeii again this year. The first time i didnt really get to take it in as i was travelling solo, this year i hope i get to appreciate it much more

I think its well worth a visit recognizing that this is a perserved town due to the prior volcanic event leaving a fairly well preserved ancient. Lots of ancient sites have been previously rebuilt or partially so.

Thank you! This is exactly what we need when we'll be in Pompeii the end of October. We're not going on a tour but taking the train by ourselves from Rome. Feeling brave and a bit nervous 😂

Correct me if I'm wrong, your train fare was €2.80/way n entrance fee was €16. We hope when we go there next year May still the same. How long did you spend your time there, exploring, 3 hrs if I'm not mistaken? Tqvm
Yes that's about right - hopefully they don't raise the prices. We spent a bit more than 3 hours there, and some people spend the whole day there. If you get a tourist guide who tells you the story in more detail, it can be a lot longer, but also really fun if you like this type of history.
In which month was your video taken? You both are wearing warm clothes, so wanted to check what month you visited and what was the weather there ?
We went in April if I'm not mistaken. It was still chilli some days, but we were lucky to not get any rain :)

So where and what would you recommend to eat after such a tour?
It’s best to get back to one of the nearby towns for lunch (Pompeii, Sorrento or Napoli!)
Has someone checked your Covid pass at some point?
Yeah actually they asked us before entering the cultural site of Pompeii. But during our time in Napoli that was the only time we got asked.
What month is good to visit weather wise
I think it was end of March
€16 is very reasonable for a whole day visit at this more than 2k years old historical site….

We recommend you staying in Sorrento or in Naples. They are both one short metro ride away from Pompeii 😊

I’m currently in rome, we visit the colosseum tomorrow. Any easy way of getting to Pompeii from rome? We’re from Los Angeles lol
We loved the Colosseum! To go from Rome to Pompeii it might take you like 3 hours on the bus, so we recommend you to stay in Naples for at least a day. From there it’s only 45 minutes on the metro ☺️
I walk with a walking stick. Could I borrow a wheelchair there and still see all round Pompeii?
Most of Pompeii's soil is made out of rocks which are not very well leveled. So I'm not sure they have wheelchair's available... I think the best thing to do is reach out to them in advance
