Just ended up here randomly by watching many "experiencing..." videos and super surprised to see my neighborhood i grew up in is your holiday stay, de Esch in Rotterdam ❤ so cool!
At 14:34 minutes you forget to mention the big white building in front of you, build in 1897 after a skyscraper in the USA and was at that time the largest office building in Europe
The boat that you were sleeping is in the neighborhood called de Esch. This used to be known for its water treatment and pipelines and there are numerous large bassins, also underground
Thanks for visiting Rotterdam and enjoying your time here! I love the market hall, the food is expensive but very nice. If you want a taste of pre-war Rotterdam, visit Delfthaven. 😊

My dad’s family comes from Rotterdam. The very close to the bombarded areas. All of them, grandparents, my dad, his brothers and sisters did suffer from PTSS. All of them had specific problems in their life’s. As a child, you don’t see it. Children are loyal to the bone, until they know better. My grandma ended up in prison, arrested by Germans. They did hide jewels and ‘underground’ resistance persons. The fact that the city center is relative modern comes from a huge area, bombarded relentless by the Germans. However, modern Rotterdam is beautiful. Have fun!
Nice that you are so positive about our city. Just a question; when you ask what everybody thinks of the city (first three minutes) and your husband starts answering, you ignore him completely. What’s that about? Just about you huh? Terrible
Your reaction to drop (liquorice) being to salty you got the wrong taste because there’s sweet licorice as well, and they’re is krijtjesdrop which has a exterior of mint, and then you have honey drop and Laurier drop and they are not salty if you grew up with licorice, you probably would’ve loved it most people in the Netherlands are addicted
A bit of a waste to go to the Market Hall and then get the junk food that you can get on just about every street corner. The Market Hall has so many different types of good food to offer. Missed opportunity.
This city is the city of people really have terrertorial bluf of the city Rotterdam, like hooligans of football club Feyenoord. Where does the Dutch roots came from?
grandparents were immigrants
The Markthal is so kitsch and ugly, but hey Rotterdammers love it.
I don’t know if you did it on purpose, but Rotterdam is “the” chance to teach your children about the sad effects of WW2!
we often talk about my omas time there during ww2 and the terrible destruction and awful things she faced
Have fun!
@@basdebruin2355Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
@@basdebruin2355You forget the massive bombing by the Americans and Brits. Even more then the Germans. And Rotterdam demolished there own buildings.
Have you been to the Eendrachtsplein?
No we haven't, well have to look I to it

Nice that you are so positive about our city. Just a question; when you ask what everybody thinks of the city (first three minutes) and your husband starts answering, you ignore him completely. What’s that about? Just about you huh? Terrible
we communicate how we communicate
How was your stay in little Morocco??
we loved out time in morocco
I missed the name of the best ice cream shop
Urban bakery
Thank you. I have a mission now :)@@teepsfam
Hagelslag is indeed not chocolate sprinkles!
Your reaction to drop (liquorice) being to salty you got the wrong taste because there’s sweet licorice as well, and they’re is krijtjesdrop which has a exterior of mint, and then you have honey drop and Laurier drop and they are not salty if you grew up with licorice, you probably would’ve loved it most people in the Netherlands are addicted
we wanted them to try what my opa loved 🤣🤣
Nice kids.

A bit of a waste to go to the Market Hall and then get the junk food that you can get on just about every street corner. The Market Hall has so many different types of good food to offer. Missed opportunity.
thank you! we'll did enjoy the traditional ducth offerings very much!

This city is the city of people really have terrertorial bluf of the city Rotterdam, like hooligans of football club Feyenoord. But believe me theres no need to fight them because they just one city complot, only bluffing but they doing nothing. They just never admidd there lost. And so they will hold you on a line forever. They rather die instead.
sounds like it
