I love writing riffs in E standard and then playing them in D. I have to work harder to make something sound heavier, but then when it's played lower its even heavier.
James voice has never actually been this deep, even now live they play in E flat, you could argue on st.anger but on the heavier tracks his voice still wasn't super deep
