This video is all about schools in Germany and the education system in Germany. Before the age of compulsory education, most children in Germany attend day care centers or Kindertagesstätte, commonly known as KITA. Compulsory school education in Germany starts at the age of 6.

If you haven't found a suitable spot in KITA or you want to give your child more care than getting from day care centers the best alternative is to hire a child minder or Tagesmutter.

Initially all the children must attend the primary school or the Grundschule. The primary school extends from Grade 1 to Grade 4. But in Berlin and Brandenburg it can go up to Grade 6.
There are 4 different types of secondary schools in Germany.
1. Hauptschule
2. Realschule
3. Gymnasium
4. Gesamtschule

Very informative video, thank you so much. How difficult it will be for a 7 years old girl to mingle with German kids? Do they accept English speaking kids from India ? Do the school make sure child safety as well? Any kind of cctv cameras will be there ? Request you to please give some more information on above points.
As you might know German language is key here. They do accept international students and are providing a welcome class so that students can adapt accordingly. CCTV cameras are not installed as they are against German privacy rules.

To be honest its a very specific question and we cannot answer you precisely as it all depends on whether the kids can easily integrate and it varies from child to child. However, they are offering welcome classes to international students so that they can learn German and join along.

Which schule will I go to?
the first thing that they shall check is your school leaving certificate and see if it is comparable to theirs. If this is the case then you may have to attend an orientation class, but then it is possible.

If he wants to work as an electrician, the best way is that he learns german language at least till B1at first, come to Germany on a dependant visa, then apply for a recognition whereby his qualifications are recognised and compared to a German qualification. After this he has high chances of getting a job.
