He yells because Sam Kinnison did, but Joe doesn't understand anything about what makes a joke work or why the audience is laughing. His comedy makes perfect sense when you realize that. He said that he worked for years on that special and I believe him. He uses brute force to figure out every beat of his act, constantly moving things around and changing them and adding more conservative dogwhistle until his troglodyte fans show maximum approval. Unfortunately his utter lack of humor and inability to analyze the joke in his head, he has to tell it hundreds of thousands of times before he realizes it would be better if he *didn't* scream every word.

There was one time when he brought on some crappy tabloid journalist who had wrote a hit piece on Joe, specifically so he could talk shit to the guy for an hour and a half. It was amazing, because Joe was mad as fuck, and anger is the only thing that seems to allow him to come up with quick witted insults that are funny. Problem is he's not even trying to be funny, he's trying to be mean in those moments but he's got a weird combination of being super articulate and way over the top when he's really pissed off, and it makes him unintentionally sound more like a cartoon villain than a real person, which is funny as hell, to me at least lol.

Joe Rogans comedy is what a teenager thinks comedy is. He’s got a childlike brain who thinks he’s the funniest and doesn’t understand everyone else’s. Most JRE listeners don’t “worship” him like the critics claim, his YT comment section is full of roasts. He’s not funny and he’s usually high, but the podcasts are interesting because of the guests. He’s actually better at hosting than most late night hosts like Colbert, who constantly interrupts his guest and asks dumb questions. Because Joe knows he’s not a great comedian, he’s able to have better comedians like Norm McDonald on and not feel threatened or competitive.

I never knew Joe Rogan was a comedian until just a few years ago when a special of his dropped, I think it was on Netflix. I knew him from Fear Factor when I was a kid, and I watched his podcast until about 4-5 years ago.
As an Italian, I’ve seen some of the best Italian comedians in the world, and if I learned one thing about it, it’s that comedy doesn’t boot lick powerful people like Joe Roagan does.

He’s actually better at hosting than most late night hosts like Colbert, who constantly interrupts his guest and asks dumb questions. Because Joe knows he’s not a great comedian, he’s able to have better comedians like Norm McDonald on and not feel threatened or competitive.
