For this episode, we dive more into the Acura Integra's body work and showing you just how bad the body of a car can be to the untrained eye if you don't have body shop experience. We also show you what happens when you skip steps in the paint process, and how cheaping out on paint can really mess your car up. Thanks for watching!

Thanks so much for watching guys! The guys killed it on this so far.
How much should a quality paint job cost? I want my car to get painted but I don't know the price range. I have tried to look it up but all I am able to find is either cheap paint jobs or people saying wrapping is less expensive
You should paint it championship white
Hey David, nice work on the teg. I don’t live too far from you and was wanting to get my 2007 Si done getting the sings pulled out and painted the original nighthawk black pearl. It looks like Dwayne does killer work and if you don’t mind me asking how much he is charging you for this.
Can't wait to see it painted!!!
leone striker it’s all about the prep and how much work has to be done to it. A quality job could be $2,000 on up to $10,000 depending on how crazy you get with it.
As somebody who worked in a bodyshop for a few years, I can tell that they are a great shop and do great work and don't half ass things. Which is always great to see :D
Only thing that sketched me out was how close he was getting to the handles and trim with that sander. Tape it off, or take it off hahaha always sucks marking up trim by accident.
haha yeah thats true. I'm sure they will tape it off before they finish sanding it.
I'd like to see the handles and trim off the car, but I dunno how carried away they're going to get with it though. Super awesome seeing car channels get involved with body shops, and even cooler seeing an Integra get worked on, I've got one myself.
dropinbiking92 along with 1200 I've heard of doing to fine of a grit sometimes can lead to peeling after a few years
devinx6 Agreed. Most people stop at around 600 grit so the paint has something to bite into. Pretty much any automotive paint self levels and fills up a 4-600 grit texture.
I love the balance of cinematic shots of bodywork being done with music over and dialogue. Good work on the video.
So satisfying watching these videos. Watching Dante take his time, explain things and work is craft is great. Far too often in the car community things are rushed and more emphasis is put on just getting it done. Attention to detail!
That is a big job. Bet it's going to look awesome!
Man. Dante likes what he does. Watching a master that likes what he's doing is always fun.
Hey David.
I use to work in a paint shop and I can tell you it is a very labor intensive job. People think painting a car is easy. It's all in the prep. The more prep time the better the overall job will be.
I am about to embark on a custom paint job for my 86 supra soon enough so seeing this and reminding me of the process was good. I remember it isn't a quick thing it takes days of prep to get a really smooth finish. Worth it for sure but more work then most realise.
Dante is definitely a master of his craft. Mad props to all of you proper body guys.
I like the guy working on David’s integra. I respect him so much. He has so much passion on what he’s doing; because he loves it. You can tell he enjoys it and he’s dedicated to it.
I use bondo on my teeth every time I get a cavity. I haven’t seen a dentist in a decade!
Jeremy Sharpe hahaha
i prefer kittyhair, it seems to last longer
good body men deserve every penny! I was taught by my friend and his brother that have 60 years experience combined! I've gone over my mustang by hand with sand paper, razor blades, scotch brite pads, inside and out and learned how to feel for thos dents you cant see with your eyes, unless you have many years of experience. good video Dave
I worked at a bday shop, this brings back memories. Quality work being done here.
Love how an add from maaco pops up lmao
It's great showing these guys. For me it's hard picking a body shop. There are far to many bad ones out there. Great that these guys are getting exposure. Wish I lived near them.
This is oddly satisfying to watch
the is the best auto body Honda video i have ever seen. thank you.
Watching this build has been mesmerizing
Good body work is a fookin art, it's great to come across people who are passionate about what they do, and actually give af enough to do this shit right
Body work and paint is such an art! so much work and hours put into it for that top finish
I love watching artist's at work!!
what a time to be alive. you are working on your integra, tavarish is on gallardo, b for build is fusing his fairlady z with m5 v10. really really good times.
Imtiaz Hasnain and MCM on an RB swapped 240
always cool to watch someone work when they really know what they're doing.
I really respect their knowledge and way of work. The reasoning and the action that they do on this body work is really amazing to watch. Sh*t makes me wanna be his apprentice and work for him.
this brings back good memories of my own build. Thanks for the flashback.
Glad to see there are body shop people that actually care about their product
as I watch this I feel mesmerized, watching a master at his trade.
Icing. Ive heard that used for bondo too. Im happy to see you going the extra mile with this car
Huge step up in production and quality sir... love how things are going!
3 months ago I did paint and body on a Lincoln town car Limo. It took forever and I had 3 guys helping me.
Captain Turd Burglar that things a boat.
I just painted my Front bumper white and my hood black with 2k professional paint, I ran it through an LVLP on my tiny bostitch compressor from lowes, it came out legit I can't even believe how good it looks, just the slightest orange peel on the clear but not even noticeable and honestly I could color sand and buff it out but I'm not even going to bother. For primer, paint and 2k clear, filters, sand paper etc it cost me about 250 bucks to do my bumper, hood and license plate section of my del sol.
Dudeeee only 1:49 into the video I'm already vibin with that.. so sick!
That Stud welding is. Cool
That looks like a quality body shop. I can't wait to see the finished look. I am also working on sanding down and filling a few dents and deep scratches on my car currently. I just practiced applying Bondo on a steel sheet with a dent in the middle. It is harder to apply than it looks for a first timer.
BriansPS3 you cant apply body filler over paint and bring it to a shop, more often than not it costs you more if you attempt your work and then bring it to a shop
Ben Dover oh I’ve sanded it down to bare metal. It’s just small dents and dings. I’ve already painted and it’s blended in quite well. I wouldn’t do a big patch though I’d leave that to a body shop
I think the stud welder and reverse impact hammer for pulling out dints is very cool.
Man I can't wait to see how the paint job turns out!
The intro made me cry,if you're going to do something as big as paint your car don't do a bad job actually do it right!!!😭😭😭😭
Berner’s beat is fire on this vid
Your content is definitely underappreciated 😤😕
This is interesting. I had no idea they could take out small dings like that.
Oh wow, lots of useful stuff learned from this video. Thanks!
Love in the integra build David keep it up
A good trick ive been taught is that if you are gonna fix up and paint a car make sure to paint it white. Because if it is bright white you can half ass the bodywork and most people wont ever notice the small imperfections. Never paint a car gloss black either because it is like a mirror and will show every ripple, imperfection, or wave in the bodywork.
That's why a good paint job costs a few grand. Buy it once buy it right. Otherwise you end up spending double trying to fix it.
Been doing custom paint and body 28 years. I don’t think people realize the amount of time it takes to do things right. When they hear how much it costs, they go the wrap route which in my opinion is a bandaid on a bullet wound. You’re not even to primer yet and you look spent. Then you will be blocking it forever, probably find other low spots at that point and have to glaze areas, reprime then repeat. Then it has to be dirt free before base. Clear then cut and buff which can take days to do right. It’s a major process which I’m currently in the middle of. Makes it a bit more challenging when you can’t walk like me but that’s a minor detail.
As much as I'd love to see it on blue..please make it Phoenix Yellow! Real iconic ITR colour!
that background music reminded me so much of "numb" by linkin park daym bringing back memories
Paint it the same blue as your 240sx. Body filler is also referred to as "mud". I personally prefer using brand Evercoat body filler and glazing putty.
If you want to stick with the blue theme, Honda has a really cool blue called Aegean Blue that they put on the new Civics. Seeing as Acura is just upscale Honda, it would be a good fit, imo
Hi David nice meeting you at dipcon ☺️
I don't miss how much I got paid while working at a body shop, but I do miss the art form. Well done sir
Dudes do a great job. I did cringe though when he was putting his weight on the can while it was sitting directly on the car at 7:21 :OOOOO you just fixed the dents bro!!!
That zgrip is really good bodyfiller.
Build coming along well
Wow, that paint just came right off
We call bodyfiller bog, bondo is a brand whereas bodyfiller it's purpose.. It doesn't need to go on bare steel either, it can go on any surface it just needs to be keyed and cleaned correctly before application.
Where are you from? I hear the term bog a lot from Australians and areas of the UK. We just call it filler or bondo here in Canada.
Americans have a habit of calling things by the big brand names, ie. Kleenex, Aluminum, Bondo etc
If you ever hear a guy call it mud, or baking a cake, you know some serious shit is going down hahaha "A little bondo and paint, to make it what it ain't"
dropinbiking92, I'm from New Zealand but live in Australia. My father was born in London, he was where I learned the terminology which is generally used in all 3 nations so your 100% correct eh lol.
At the shop I work at, We always just call it mud lol.
Bondo is a company. It’s like calling tissues Kleenex. That being said, I, as well as everyone at the shop I work for calls the body filler Bondo, even though it’s from 3m. There’s also glaze which is also a body filler but acts differently compared to Bondo
In England a lot of body shops call body filler "bodge".
comin in with that xCodeh music
That spark made David jump,he wasn't ready hahahahaha
Wow the bondozoku looks really different in this episode
I'm kind of envious of the tools these guys are using, I'm from Jordan and we do all of that work with bare hands
I'm curious, how much does it cost to paint your car there in the US?
Very cool seeing the body work, im going to school for that so i totally related to everything he was doing lol 😅
In Northwest Indiana, we call it pop
Hi, Billy Mays here for Mighty Putty, the easy way to fix, fill and seal virtually anything
fast and make it last!
Mighty Putty is not a glue, but a super-powered epoxy that you can mold to any shape
and apply directly to most any surface for an everlasting bond.
Ordinary epoxies are a mixing mess. With Mighty Putty, you just cut like dough, simply
knead to activate, apply and let dry.
It has the muscle to support up to 350 pounds.
Rebuild a damage tool to work like new or make car repairs and save money. Drills,
holes and screws can ruin your project. With Mighty Putty, you just cut, activate and
apply.
Here’s something you can’t do with glue: Mighty Putty seals leaks instantly. Use it on
pipes and faucets for a permanent seal. As you knead, it activates, turning from green to
white to show it’s ready to hold on tight.
It has the strength to pull this fully loaded 80,000-pound tractor trailer! Now that’s the
power of Mighty Putty!
Whether it’s tile to wood, metal to glass, any job big or small, Mighty Putty repairs them
all. Fill cracks in ceilings, walls, and floors. Mold it to furniture, sand and paint for a
seamless repair.
And it’s ideal for all your crafting projects.
There’s nothing you can’t do with Mighty Putty.
Call now and we’ll send you two powerful sticks of Mighty Putty for only $19.99. But
through this exclusive TV offer, we’ll double it and send you two more sticks free.
Mighty Putty will pay for itself the very first time.
But I’m not done yet. Call right now and I’ll triple the offer, and send you six sticks of
Mighty Putty for the same old price of $19.99.
Paint it that iconic yellow !!!!
That Evercoat putty is the shit, it's the same putty I use, super easy to work with. You gotta show us what products they end up spraying on the car, I'm curious.
cannot wait to see the car gettin painted 😍
I never took David as a Dre fan. Nice song choice.
D/a on filler, not a fan, always block for the shape to be perfect. (I see he’s finishing with the block but regardless) The progress looks good, excited to see the colour
Always love I learn things on your channel...this was a great video but the music was a little repetitive.
Mugen Wing
Type R sideskirts, Lip and, Bumper lip
Rotors and Calipers
Shouldve taken off the side door moldings too lol my opinion
Good stuff
that intro holy crap hahaha
It's pop! wheres my fellow minnesotans?
You should paint it like that celebrity on RUclips with the blue mustang
That'd be sweet! I've seen those cars. That Blue Guy? Something like that
I think I know who you're talking about, doesn't he sell car cleaning stuff?
Yeah i think his name is dylan peterson or somethin
Bondo is brand name of 3M's line of filler products. Automotive body filler or just body filler for short, is just what the actual product is called. Eg. Automotive body filler that's made by the brand Bondo.
I love it very good my boy keep up and love video 💯
cant fucking wait to see this finished
I'm thinking about taking my car to them soon
Reminds me of DIWD's wrap video on his Corvette
Also the color? Bluetegra?
It’s called pop. The reason for that is because in the north when it gets cold and you leave it outside, it goes pop and explodes. Soda pop is also acceptable
That intro oh my god
I love how you can be friends with every body lol
Day 2. Dear lord. Praying for you brother.
In new Zealand we call it fizzy drink not pop or soda
1200 grit is really fine... what paint are you using that will bite a 1200 grit scratch? only asking because paints like PPG/SherwinWilliams ex ex require a 400-800 grit scratch...
In Australia we call it Bog
Wow what was that air powered thing to flake the paint off!?!?
Where’s Dante’s shop located? I may have to take my wrx to him
What's that nozzle thing their using on the end of the blower? It seems so much more effective than just a regular blower nozzle
They're called duck bill or fan blowers. Lots of super tiny holes that spray in a narrow long fan instead of just out one hole. Super handy and a lot more pressure then the regular style.
dropinbiking92 awesome, thanks
It’s probably a Tornader blower. They can get pretty pricy.
In Australia it’s neither. In most parts we call it soft drink
the music reminds me of midnight club
What’s with that blow gun ?
The background song is a painfully slowed down remix of Xxplosive by Dre
Love your detail supplies... except I’ve only used the tire shine one time and now it just leaks out the handle... anyone else have this problem? I emailed him and no response.
I wish I can get my integra painted man
If only getting the old paint and plastidip off the roof of the integra was as easy as the mustang bumper
Loving the body work videos. however........ every time i hear Dante, i look around like "who said my name"?
West coast = soda. East coast = pop. Canadians call it pop, too.
So what’s his process with abrasives ie what grit/grade does he start with and finish on before base coat/colour.
Because personally I use p180-p400-p800-grey stotch bright and p1500 wet flat the clear coat and polish
a dent on a hood that elevates is called a drag hood
