Imagine being so hellbent on winning that within 10 seconds of seeing a hulking mass of chaos marine, you and your entire platoon agree to fix bayonets and charge an enemy, a tactic you know will get everyone killed, just to distract him so that someone on the platoon can get close enough with explosives to blow everyone up.

What I like about this animation is that the Kriegers as shown as somewhat suicidal but also effective. Charging into Chaos astartes with a lance that can kill them. They use artillery fire to attack trenches, take cover behind sandbags, throwing grenades to breach doors or rooms, even letting the Astartes take out the Heavy gun before killing the other enemies. Even them charging the last berserker seemed convincing as they aimed for joints in the armor.
Krieger: Alright, cover us with mortar and machine gun fire while we- IG: I thought you guys just charged? Krieger (annoyed): We will die for the Emperor, not waste the blessed resources he has blessed us with.
I always found this a perfect representation of the Death Korps of Krieg. My friend played Death Korps in the board game and she loved them before and when GW started going downhill. She was kinda devestated when she heard this video was removed because of GW threatening creators. At least I can send it to her since it will cheer her up knowing people know it is worth keeping up.
This animation shows something: The astartes probably love working with the DKoK more than any other militarum regiment. Kriegers never ask questions, throw their lives away if it helps the battle willingly, and are still quite tactical and methodical in how they fight war. Perfect match.

As the fourth Tank rumbled to join the column, the commander of the vehicle really, really just wants to sleep. His last two platoons are shredded somewhere else. He and his crew had been at it for several weeks. Their Tank also needed maintenance, but the Emperor waits for no man, and so they join the column. "I hate being a last second addition," the driver grouses as he bites on his cigar as he drives, "We usually end up having to fix a whole bigger than our mess kits." "And everything hit and destroyed while we're at it," the left side gunner adds. "Quiet you idiots, there are Krieg!" the right side gunner warned as the Lumen Russ began to slowly drive by the horse mounted Krieg. "Settle down and settle in," the commander ordered despite her tiredness, "Get ready to kill the lights as soon the Space Marines sense danger, understood?" "Copy that," the crew responded. 'We're number four in a three Tank formation,' the Commander thought as he swallowed, 'Not a good place to be.' The inside, as always, was loud. The crew were uncomfortable. They really couldn't see. A fourth Space Marine walked alongside them with their Infantry unit with him. Checking his map, the Tank Commander realized they would soon be reaching the area where the enemy defenses were believed. He swallowed. They hadn't been contested yet. That meant an ambush. The Tank Commander alerted his crew and popped his hatch. Telling his Infantry support to be ready for an ambush, he turned to see the Space Marine with them was listening. He then turned back to the Guardsman in charge of the support and told him his plan, eyeing the Space Marine to see him still listening in. Both thought it a good plan. So, they were ready for anything. As they approached, the leading Space Marine suddenly held up his fist. As soon as that happened, all four Tanks came to a halt. The rearmost, Tank Number 4, killed its lights immediately as the Infantry found good positions. The rear most Infantry of Tank Number 3 realized a few moments later that Tank 4 had turned its lights off. They turned to see the Guardsmen around it having taken defensive positions and were scanning outwards for danger. The Tank Commander was also had his head out and was scanning. The Space Marine with them was doing the same. A PFC quickly ordered his team to do the same. The Corporal in Tank 3's Infantry realized the same and directed the others to do the same. The Tank Commander of Tank 4 scanned carefully. His eyes narrowing at times. His scanner in hand looking for all danger. That's when he saw it. A Heretic attempting to outflank them on the right. His left side gunner, though, shouted enemy on the left! Just as the Space Marine up front suddenly fired his Bolter, the Tank Commander yelled, "AMBUSH!" His driver hit reverse and move their Lumen Russ back. The Tank Commander guiding him as battle broke out. Finding a good place further back, the Tank fired into enemies attempting to flank the other three Tanks. "Tank 1 has been hit!" the first Tank went down. The Heretics moved to flank. But Tank 4's fire cut into their own flank. It was far enough back that they had failed to notice it. In fact, an enemy preparing his shot hadn't even noticed the fire was coming from a fourth Tank. "Tank 3! Hostile behind you! Move!" the Tank Commander cursed as Tank 3 was slow to react, but it did move slightly before it was hit, and that slight movement made a difference. "Tank 3's crew likely survived that one. Unlike Tank 1's crew," the driver could see what happened, "Where are those reinforcements?" Switching between directly his own crew's weapons, coordinating with their Infantry and Space Marine, sharing reports with just Tank 2 now, and speaking with command, providing critical information, the Tank Commander felt himself being overworked, but he kept at it. "They're on the way," he told his crew, and their support, "Just buy ti- Tank 2! Watch left!" The Tank managed to deal with the threat. On its right, the Space Marine supporting them did the same. The one up front was keeping the enemy at bay. And that's when things went from bad to horribly worse. "TRAITORS!" the Tank Commander shouted upon seeing six Chaos Space Marines. His gunners needed no instructions. They followed his directions and fire from all weapons reduced their numbers quickly. But already, there were causalities. One of their Space Marines was wounded, if not dead. The Infantry commander was in danger. "Oh no," the main gunner watched in horror, "Tank 2 and its Space Marine were just hit!" "I see!" the commander shouted in horror, before steeling himself, "Cover all the survivors that can get to us. We hold here until reinforceme-" he was interrupted by the vox in his space, "They're almost here! Prepare to charge and as the Commissars say, 'Drive me closer so I can hit them with my sword!'" The crew cheered that as they picked off a third Traitor. But saw the enemy about to kill the survivors of the forward three parts of the column. Then the horns blew. Followed by the sounds of lots of hooves. "Stand ready driver!" "Yes sir!" The Krieg Lancers arrived and were approaching the surviving Tank. "LIGHTS AND CHARGE!" The Tank's lights sprang to life, blinding enemies and friends alike. Nonetheless, the Krieg riders had behind the Tank when the lights went on and its own Infantry and Space Marine were on its flanks. The Krieg passed swiftly as the Tank began surging forward. The Infantry and Space Marine following it as the Krieg overran the enemy. A Traitor managed to pick off several Kreig riders, but a Lancer managed to hit him squarely. The resulting explosion blew the Traitor's arm off and spun the corpse around to fall to the ground. The leader of the Traitors and Heretics was likewise overwhelmed while the Space Marine up front was still alive and fighting and managed to take down the last Traitor on his own. Krieg Infantry arrived, sweeping through the area, moving forward. The Heretics left behind did not live long. They were quickly executed as the Krieg Infantry maintained their advance, nonetheless. "Move, move!" the Tank Commander shouted as his Tank drove forward with the remaining still fit Guardsmen from the column, "Victory for the Emperor!" "The Emperor Protects!" the crew shouted as they fired on targets of opportunity. The Tank Commander guided his Tank through the dark forest. His Tank's powerful scanners showing the enemy trenches up ahead. He had a much better capability than the Space Marines with them. From four, there were now two. But that was still two more than the enemy who had lost six Chaos Space Marines in exchange. The Krieg noticed the Regs keeping pace and the Lumen Russ slowly beginning to drop back until it idled. The loud engine quieting to let them close with more ease. Those still passing could hear the vehicle commander making reports as he scanned the battlefield, eyeing things carefully. Then the flare went up. "FORWARD!" the driver heard the command and again, the Lumen Russ once more advanced, weapons firing as the Tank Commander shouted out coordinates over the din of battle. Heretic heavy weapons died faster than Krieg Infantry were. The two Space Marines catching and beginning to surpass the Krieg. The Regular Guardsmen kept pace with the Tank. Final coordinates given; Krieg Artillery fired from their forward position. "Nice!" the Turret gunner shouted as he saw the explosions. A hole punched; Krieg poured into the trenches. The Heretics didn't stand a chance. They fought back but were rapidly being overran. One Krieg Infantryman stopped and indicated for the Lumen Russ to follow his guidance. The Tank did so and was soon traversing the trenches in the best spot for it. Avoiding Anti-Tank Mines in the process. A few Heretics tried to shoot the Krieg, but the Regs shot them down first. The Krieg Lancers returned and began to run down the fleeing enemy that had foolishly fled their trenches. Few to none would survive. The Tank Commander ordered a halt once they were across the trenches. The man then revealed that he had strapped an Anti-Tank Rocket Launcher near his hatch. "Here!" he called down and gently tossed the weapon. Both the Krieg that had guided them and a Reg caught the weapon. "There's likely one more Chaos Space Marine down inside!" the man pointed to the where one of the Space Marines and a pack of Krieg had gone underground, "We got up here! Take that down there and make sure they enemy gets a nasty surprise!" Acknowledged, two separate Squads enter the underground dugout with their new launcher. It would soon be put to use. Though there would still be a cost to pay. "Forward!" the Tank Commander shouts, "I want to hit them with my sword!"
Fan video: Death Korps of Krieg acting fearless just like in the lore. Official GW video: Krieg acting just like regular guardsmen, cowering, being fearful and generally showing emotion without using suicidal tactics.
There is a difference between fearlessness and suicidal. I'd say the Kriesgmen who charged an ork Nob, or ran into burna fire to activate a detonator were pretty fearless.
Lore is not usually accurate to whatever else is in the fiction, hell even warhammer says custodes are nigh demi-gods but they get killed off like vegeta left and right to show off a new big bad boy
I disagree entirely. The Kriegsmen in the Kill Team trailer had a mission to accomplish, and dying before it is accomplished is failing the Emperor, thus you need to stay alive. Plus, there aren't many guardsmen who would charge an Ork nob without hesitation.

Too few people point this out. I really like that part. They could have had the walking armor be up front and act as a shield. but no. they do. they do take point.
Probably because they can’t shoot any traitors with an Astartes in front of them. It also appears to make good tactical sense; notice how they peel off to clear and cover the branching tunnels while the Marine keeps moving along the main route? My guess is they took point to make sure there wouldn’t be any surprises like a guy with a rocket launcher or krak grenade having a chance to kill the deadliest fighter in the group. You’ll also notice the Kriegers who aren’t caught out in the open when the enemy HS/MG opens up immediately take cover until the Marine kills the gunner. A subtle but excellent way to show that even if they don’t place any value on their own lives, they’re not fucking stupid like some GW writers appear to believe.
They are expendable. They accept this. His Angel shall do the necessary work, aka taking out that heavy gun emplacement in the tunnels, they shall make sure he gets out with as little damage as possible if they can.

"I hate being a last second addition," the driver grouses as he bites on his cigar as he drives, "We usually end up having to fix a whole bigger than our mess kits."
"And everything hit and destroyed while we're at it," the left side gunner adds.
"Quiet you idiots, there are Krieg!" the right side gunner warned as the Lumen Russ began to slowly drive by the horse mounted Krieg.
"Settle down and settle in," the commander ordered despite her tiredness, "Get ready to kill the lights as soon the Space Marines sense danger, understood?"
"Copy that," the crew responded.
'We're number four in a three Tank formation,' the Commander thought as he swallowed, 'Not a good place to be.'
The inside, as always, was loud.
Just as the Space Marine up front suddenly fired his Bolter, the Tank Commander yelled, "AMBUSH!"
His driver hit reverse and move their Lumen Russ back.
Unlike Tank 1's crew," the driver could see what happened, "Where are those reinforcements?"
Switching between directly his own crew's weapons, coordinating with their Infantry and Space Marine, sharing reports with just Tank 2 now, and speaking with command, providing critical information, the Tank Commander felt himself being overworked, but he kept at it.
"They're on the way," he told his crew, and their support, "Just buy ti- Tank 2! Watch left!"
The Tank managed to deal with the threat.
"Oh no," the main gunner watched in horror, "Tank 2 and its Space Marine were just hit!"
"I see!" the commander shouted in horror, before steeling himself, "Cover all the survivors that can get to us. We hold here until reinforceme-" he was interrupted by the vox in his space, "They're almost here! Prepare to charge and as the Commissars say, 'Drive me closer so I can hit them with my sword!'"
The crew cheered that as they picked off a third Traitor. But saw the enemy about to kill the survivors of the forward three parts of the column.
Then the horns blew. Followed by the sounds of lots of hooves.
"Stand ready driver!"
"Yes sir!"
The Krieg Lancers arrived and were approaching the surviving Tank.
"LIGHTS AND CHARGE!"
The Tank's lights sprang to life, blinding enemies and friends alike.
"Move, move!" the Tank Commander shouted as his Tank drove forward with the remaining still fit Guardsmen from the column, "Victory for the Emperor!"
"The Emperor Protects!" the crew shouted as they fired on targets of opportunity.
Take that down there and make sure they enemy gets a nasty surprise!"
Acknowledged, two separate Squads enter the underground dugout with their new launcher.
It would soon be put to use. Though there would still be a cost to pay.
"Forward!" the Tank Commander shouts, "I want to hit them with my sword!"

The Dark Angel sitting on his ass watching the 10, 000 year old heretic super soldier getting absolutely ruined by a literal cavalry charge is my favorite part of this.
F*** YOU GAMES WORKSHOP!
Also, thanks for re-uploading this, smoketinytom! Always loved a 40K work where the Imperial Guards shine, and it's rare it does so without putting down anyone else.
Thank you for saving all SODAZ 40k clip, its really a shame he had to do that to work with them, keep the good fight and screw GW shaddy methods
Amazing animation, GW shouls realise that this is basically free advertising for them.
Artists and companies for this matter do not live of exposure
This still gives me chills xD especially that final exchange of glances between that tank commander and the krieg horseman :') as if finally the tank crewman/commander understands that behind the mask is more than human, it is undying faith in the emperor, contained in a shell hardened by horror and endless war.
Love the little subtle look towards the way the Guards are rolling from Krieg marine at 0:20. 'You are going where we are going.......ok then......'. Love this short, definitely one of the best.
Guardsmen: oh thank god! reinforcements! lead us, Space Marine!
Krieg: ...we didn't ask for help, but you can come with us as long as you don't get in our way.
Sodaz, You're always welcome in the SCP community, no copyright bullshit up in this hizit, but i realize art needs love and if SCP ain't you're thank Nothing can be helped! PEACE! And best of luck everywhere you go! Fuck GW
Khorne Beserker charging towards krieg
Krieg: also charging towards the berserker
Berserker: confused screaming
4:17 Even the Astartes is like "Yeah, I'm not getting between these mortals and the enemy. they can take point."
Dude, thank you so much for this. I love this animation.
Save this video guys if you can, GW did SODAZ dirty
No the community did him dirty
@@lilbost4 Correction: Minority.
England Fans aren’t racist, a minority expressed it.
@@smoketinytom when did I say anything about England being racist?
@@lilbost4 Never did. “The community” so whole community hates SODAZ. Not true, it was a minority action that was heard most.
@@smoketinytom a minority that has turned around and weaponized it, a minority that scared away tts because they blew it out of proportion. The majority needs to call out the minority.
I just fucking realized this amazing channel had also the best animation...are you shitting me GW?
What will never cease to amaze me with this video is just how amazing awesome the Krieg are represented. Normally Astartes steal the show but on more than one occasion Space Marines are saved by the mere mortals. The Krieg show no signs of fear, nor any f**ks given. "Oh no you stuck with me with a chainsword big bad Khorne Berserker. Let me introduce you to my krack grenade."
Commissar dies
Krieger: OH NO, anyways, charge
2:46-2:50 he has his helmet on but you can see how confused the astartes commander is, like "whoa, the fuck are these guys?! Alright! Let's do this!!" fucking beautiful.
This was an amazing video. It should have gotten more likes and views than it did but thanks you for all the work you put into this

SODAZ got screwed over. Thank you for doing this
The choreography of that berserker was amazing, exactly the kind of brutal efficiency you'd expect from one.
2:14 The Horn of Gondor sounds and the charge begins!
Very good video. It opens with a climax, follows with a climax, and ends on a climax.
The visual of the Death Korps leading the way, standing in front of the Space Marine at 4:15 was really nice
Yeah, good planning. The Krieger's were Infront and to the sides of the dark angel, protecting his flanksm also allows them to clear rooms BEFORE the dark angel moves past it, letting them have support, or just stop the angel from having a grenade launcher for dinner.
taking point for a Space Marine is prob the dream of every Guardsman
Dark Angel 1: "'Member horses?"
Dark Angel 2: "Ooohhh, I 'member.."
One of the most amazing 40K animations I have ever seen. And there's a lot of good ones. But this one also nails the storytelling 100% ...the Dark Angel at 3:31 is like "I'm not gonna be left behind by these crazy Kriegers! Here I come!"
Black Legionaries: "Hah! Loyalists! Your petty guard and weak Astartes are no match for chaos! Admit defeat, Dark Angel!"
Kriegsmen Death Riders: *"I'm about to preform the most baller move."*
Right on time with the reupload
God I miss sodaz work in warhammer, he so perfectly captured the tone of everything. The marine moving forward cold and calculating, the chaos marines furry, the krieg absolute lack of hesitation or fear, how hard it is to stop a marine. His work in warhammer was an absolute gift to the universe that is missed by me every day.
The guy with the shovel played too much soldier in tf2
nice pfp
