This is some unbelievable cheese. You can build walls with a ramp. Put high tier crossbows with skeletons manning them up around where your fighting and then Uninstal the ramps. Unstoppable robo turrets.

Even if you zero the pitch and roll of the wall using the game editor, they'll still glitch through nearly every time you reload the game. What you need is dedicated melee guards near the entrance to handle any riff raff that glitches through the gate. Make a sitting box, shift-right-click, keep passive and hold off, taunt on.

Most animal npc's seem to be able to attack in and under water, it is the swim animation that disallows attacking, anything without that animation can. But again despawn they will. The pet mod is the only way so far. But yeah there is no water interference for projectiles so xbows will work.

In fact, radiation can't move through water as far as air, so you're actually safer in the spicy pool than standing anywhere else in the room. It's probably full of metal and stuff though so maybe don't drink it.
