Best part of the week! New episode! Fun fact of the day: Tennessee is 3-17 the last 20 years vs Alabama (2004-2023) Georgia is 7-13 the last 20 meetings vs Alabama(1976-2023) Tyler-you mentioned our D-Line depth. We have 12 total; 6 DL rotation and 6 DE rotation. Straight out of Bama and UGA strategy. Fresh legs at all times. What is Vandy? Can’t beat Georgia State then almost beat Missouri at Missouri?! SEC is most definitely top heavy. As of right now Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Ole Miss, and Tennessee Look at the games that SEC teams have lost so far just in first 4 weeks of the 2024 season: Georgia State over Vandy Toledo over Mississippi State Arizona State over Mississippi State Notre Dame over Texas A&M Miami over Florida California over Auburn Oklahoma State over Arkansas CURRENT Top Tier SEC Teams: Texas-Georgia-Alabama-Ole Miss-Tennessee CURRENT Mid Tier 1 SEC Teams: Missouri-LSU-Arkansas-South Carolina-Oklahoma CURRENT Bottom Tier 1 SEC Teams: Vanderbilt-Florida-Auburn-Kentucky-Texas A&M-Mississippi State Everyone could argue with the Mid and Bottom but still that’s 11 teams not at the top of the SEC. Now that’ll all change with conference play. It’ll be interesting and extremely stressful to watch for those competing at the top. Now to wrap up with the upcoming Georgia versus Alabama game this weekend look at the last three game results. This is to go with the conversation you all had about rushing yards play a major impact in the winner of the game. 2023 -Alabama won 27-24 -UGA had 78 rushing yards and 321 total yards -Alabama had 114 rushing yards and 306 total yards 2022 -UGA won 31-18 -Alabama had 30 rushing yards and 399 total yards -UGA Had 140 rushing yards and 364 total yards 2021 -Alabama won 41-24 -UGA Had 109 rushing yards and 449 total yards -Alabama had 115 rushing yards and 536 total yards
We (Tennessee) hasn’t faired well against our 3 main rivals this over the past 20 years. We aren’t “back” until we beat all 3 in the same year. Only reason we last beat Georgia was a HEAVE from Josh Dobbs. I think we’re in for a treat Saturday night for sure with GA vs Alabama. We get a bye week and get to watch a heavyweight match.
@@mitchellwebb22 I agree. We are 12-48 the last 20 seasons vs our top tier rivals. Below is the breakdown. Tennessee is 3-17 the last 20 years vs Alabama (2004-2023) too we aren’t tracking back to 1995. I was 5 years old at that 41-14 victory over Alabama. Peyton 1st throw of the game for a 80 yard TD to Joey Kent and watched Peyton direct the band play Rocky Top after the game. * Alabama ranked in top 5: 13 out of 20 of those games Tennessee is 6-14 the last 20 years vs Georgia (2004-2023) I’ve personally been to 50% of those UT wins(2004, 2006, and 2015) * UGA ranked in top 5: 10 out of 20 of those games Tennessee is 3-17 the last 20 years vs Florida (2004-2023) unfortunately was at the 2012 loss to the Gators. College Gameday present where we first met Desmond Howard and Lee Corso * Florida ranked in top 10: 8 out of 20 of those games I would also note 1 other team that has Tennessee number would be LSU. I was at both SEC championships in 2001 and 2007 that we came up short. 2001 loss kept UT out of the BCS National Championship and 2007 LSU team went on to win the BCS National Championship. I was also in Knoxville in 2011 for LSU victory 38-7. LSU went to the BCS National Championship but lost 21-0 to Alabama after beating Alabama in the regular season 9-6.

Another fun nugget. In those last 20 years, Alabama(6), UGA(2), and Florida(2) won 10 of College football’s last 20 National Championships.
