    From power mode, Lock on target. Hit dodge and HOLD attack...you will lunge back at the enemy after the dodge while switching mode in mid air. Easy mode switch...completely seamless

      Ya this is definitely a move to memorize. It is a quality of life ability. I haven't played a bulldaddy enough to commit it to memory, but it is clutch.

      YES this. In fact there are several ways to switch mode, but I think the dodge/switch is the most effective and useful.     For Power Sword (and most likely Power Axe if will come out) stance switch should be an additional button instead of same button we attack with it.

      They’re sitting on the left and down arrows. I’m hoping it’s eventually to call reinforcements and fire support. Give us crazy waves with those kind of cool down capabilities and the level of violence can be turned up to 12.
      But yes, a better way to switch modes would be nice. I think hold dodge would work. That has no function, unlike the attack button.
      It would open up power sword power attacks.
      I doubt they have the time or people to screw with animations, though. Those guys are working on the axe, I imagine.
      I’ve done project management before and I know what they’re going through right now. The CEO planned for the worse…even if they hired people with the money they made to increase output, it could take a month or two to find a good match (smaller studios look for the right people, not a cog at the lowest possible price) and the same amount of time for them to get up to speed.
      I have a feeling once they get all game modes up…and probably completely rework the perks to make them…I think stick out more, they will consistently churn out missions for another couple years.
      But we gotta wait for them to plus up…and it won’t be by a lot. They have probably reserved 80-90% of their profit for SM3.
      Sorry I could rant about this a while.

    Sir theres a thing called animation cancel and you switch stance while dodging to skip steps.

      Yes it's an extra step, but doing the stance swap while repositioning and being largely damage immune works.

      Yes, if you learn it correctly. You can switch stance through an attack animation. Dealing damage to your prioritized target

      Plasma pistol is a punch and stun you can send from afar. It's great!

      Is it worth it to learn? I use the block sword, and just keep it in heavy for the most part for the cleaving (best way to avoid damage is to kill everything around you in the end).
      I do this with pistol hip fire to stagger the bigger stuff…I dunno. Nothing lives long enough for me to switch.

    Regular mode for majors and above. Power mode for crowds. No need to switch them back and forth constantly. Also if you wanna do it fast, hold the button after a dodge or a finisher, it will change without animation.

    I like both modes but I do favor power style for a few reasons, even against majors.
    1.) It moves me forward a lot so a lot of attacks miss me.
    2.) I'm constantly weaving it with power rakes. It's effective and especially in a horde I'm tearing the surrounding enemy apart as I focus my main target.
    3.) Always an easy gunstrike lying somewhere.
    4.) Good health gen, mix parries as needed.

    You might know this, but I didn't see you use it during the video, you can use dodge to swap stances to make the power sword feel way more fluid by holding the attack button at the start of the dodge animation. Also if you want more damage you can take the top line in the master-crafted perk section for the power sword, it will give you 20% more melee damage for 5 seconds after switching stances on a 10 second cooldown. Power stance is good for cleaving packs of minors and setting up gun strikes on them to keep your armor topped up.
    Edit: so if you swapped the weapon perk with your setup you could use power stance as the default and then when you see a major or extreme dodge swap into them > shield bash and you'd be at + 40% melee damage.

    My fav combo with the speed style is after a parry,
    A light attack>powerRake>Gunstrike
    I can squeeze that all in with the parries damage buff (the yellow hue around the enemy)
    Really nice supporting teammates in melee. Just don't snipe their executes. 😅

    One thing that I’m not sure is a glitch or it’s supposed to happen but the plasma pistol if charged is dead accurate while running compared to a regular shot. I also think the power stance is better for the power sword, although my gripe is that the master crafted swords are almost better stat wise than the artificer swords. That being said a decent Bulwark can hold his own against anything except zoanthropes on ruthless and lethal

    At 14:39 you FINALLY power whirl against Minoris, that's your AoE attack that you haven't been using against the Minoris. You'd have been a lot less sweaty clearing that generator. I NEVER use power mode. Use power rake more to break Majoris guard. (Use power rake more in general, you have a plus 50 percent damage bonus) The power sword is absolutely my jam. Happy to see you showcase it. Additionally, anything but the plasma pistol, you can't afford to be out of ammo. It is powerful and that's why I use it as secondary on heavy, but I've got a main weapon that offsets the lack of ammo.

      When I hear people dislike power sword I'm pretty sure they hardly use power rake/power whirl.
      I like power style light attacks a lot, but I'd go as far as to say about 60% of the weapons power is in its heavies.

    Yeah, I do feel like power sword is a bit finnicky, doesn't allow for the same agency as chainsword for example, where you can precisely select what move you want to do.

    So at the beginning when you get hit by the zoanthrope ball attack. You can see and hear the ques for it getting ready to attack. Since you have time to revive. Handle dodging their attacks first before going for the revive. Had it been a double beam you would have been downed.
    Edit to add: you seem to get tunnel vision when you see theres someone who needs to be revived. Which leads you to taking unnecessary damage. Deal with threats first then revive.

      It's understandable. First thought is usually gotta save my battle brother or this fight will be easier with 3. But if you're playing any class other than bulwark or vanguard. You're now going to be at critical health for the next fight along with your battle brother. Where if you cleared or dodged the immediate threat. You'd now be in a better position, and you both won't need a med stim.

    bulwark is my 2nd class ive got to 25 and i immediately knew id main bullwark once he reached max, the power pistol combo has been my go to every time and feels so fluid and fun to play with.
    i think its the quality of life on bulwark that needs a bit of a touchup, shield bashing to get a bit extra melee damage is great but for only 5 seconds feels a *bit* too low and i for one would rather just mash my attacks over doing that to keep the flow going. secondly the mode switching whilst it has techs to switch without the usual hassle it still is just that, a hassle and itd be nice if the switch could be made alot smoother
    the fencing power sword *could* maybe use a 5-10% damage buff though, then it would feel extremely good and be in a rather solid spot
    all in all though i love bulwark and love LOVE this combo

    Chainsword is better IMO because of the faster swings as opposed to the power mode and the shoulder bash and kick are amazing moves. Pistol choice is down to preference, I prefer to run the volkite for more ammo.

      Power Rake breaks guard every time? Well that is good to know. Melee is easy to approach but it is deeper than I think lol!

      @Yeertski yep. If you look at the weapon combos/moves screen every move with a broken shield icon next to it can break guards. Power rake and Shield bash both do

      @Yeertski the strat is most efficient against chaos Majoris. Run up to them Shield up, deflect incoming damage back to them with armor of contempt active. This will either trigger a melee attack which you can parry and gun strike back or they will raise their weapon and pause which opens them for a shield bash which will stagger them and allow you to initiate a combo. If swarmed from the front you can raise your shield and shield bash forward staggering back a whole group of minoris.

    Power mode is not even needed against gaunts, the power rake and power whirl clear them easily. The only interest of the power mode is to trigger a gun strike everytime you hit minoris

    I totes understand the parry vs unblockable. I find I do it all the time when switching between fencing and block/balanced. The benefit of fencing is you can leave your reaction late and still parry but I get into the timing of block and balanced and end up trying to balance punches right in the face.

    Easily my favorite melee weapon. It’s definitely the most versatile. Also the best way to swap stances is to dodge then hold the attack button. That’s how you get the most out of the power sword. It’s like a dance between sweeping away all the gaunts and closing the distance with a stab to get the majoris.

      Nah. The chainsword beats the living piss of of this weapon in terms of versatility. It's basically does what the power sword do, but with easier combos and without having to fck around switching stances, which in a game like this is just beyond stupid design.
      Also available for way more classes.

    Bulwark with a blocking chainsword is the best for the class. In my opinion. You turn into a wave of slaughter lol.

    Its such a minor thing, but having Efficient Charge on your Plas Pistol just so each shot eats 8 instead of 10 ammo, goes such a long way

    i think you should stop ignoring HP perks both in power sword and a chainsword. imo this one single perk is worth way more than the entire perk tree without it.

    IMO
    For ease of "stance transitioning" they should make it a toggle as apposed to the current iteration where you have to hold the button down. this would make the combat more seamless and smooth when you need to change on the fly from heavy to light or light to heave.
    Currently you have to disengage and how the input with go through before you get attacked or surrounded by multiple majors, Clearly not ideal or efficient

    Ok, dude no. The power stance is the best stance because "technically" the other stance is faster but 99.9% of the time you're in a horde. You are better off killing minors enemies and allowing major enemies to parry off of. Your shock field will deal enough damage to put them in executable state for you.
    If no shock field you have a perk that deals damage when you parry. The power rake also exists as well its good for literally anything.

    Get ammo from the weapon machine thing. It should be obvious... when you change weapons they don't come emptyas well.

    I'd really like to play more bulwark but tbh it's main feature, the fckin shield is,, well, mostly useless unless your charging at ranged enemies. And usually you can dodge them just as well anyway.
    And for some unknown reason Saber has banana coded block to take priority over parry so parrying with the bulwark is just so god damn undynamic and wonky.
    It's somehow easier for the Heavy to stop firing his rocket spewing heavy bolter, swing it with cables attached and everything and make a perfect parry than it is for the only close range melee class in them game.
    Somehow I want to like bulwark, but it's just so freakin annoying how bad it's designed.

    I wouldn't call that "missed parry" your fault the devs NEED to fix the sound ques and make that more distinct to give the player better warning especially since most un-blockable attacks thrown by majors/extreemis/terminus tend to have a bit of wind up, you will then hear the sound que for a parry and its slow to show un-blockable! that's poor game design not player error/player greed
