Good on this judge for calling him out for trying to use an infant as a reason he shouldn’t receive the punishment he deserves. I’m so sick of these people acting like having children means they should be given leniency regardless of how awful and selfish they are. If you want to be there for your children, then don’t commit crimes.

I guess we know where the next generation of thugs are coming from.
Once a woman has one child she can’t raise on her own, the court should order birth control. I guarantee she’s not able to support even herself on her Door Dash income. Almost all these people say that’s their job lately.

I actually cried over the great loss of 8 years of this boy’s life. I know he is sorry for what he did, but I didn’t see the real remorse I feel I should have, especially knowing that he brought an innocent child into this world that he will no longer be a part of outside of prison until she’s well into elementary school. But knowing that his younger brother now faces even worse than what he has faced. I feel this guy should’ve given more signs of remorse than he has. I believe the judge was very fair and I believe she gave the sentence she felt in her heart she had to give because there are victims involved in this, and a lot of them, one who nearly lost his life so that they could be thieves. No one is responsible for that, but him and his brother and I didn’t see anything in the words. This boy said that indicated he wasn’t going to continue with stupid decisions. I hope he will follow the judges advice and not become institutionalized but rather take the opportunity to learn a skill Get the therapy he needs for the horrible inflictions he endured as a child because of his mother. He can make his life better and not let this eight years be wasted, but he’s got to want to change and he’s got to put the effort in to bring about that change . I will pray for him and for all those like him that their lives would not perish at the hands of evil.

I believe he is sorry, and it’s rare to see any defendant almost lose it, yes partially fear of the sentence, but to me, my opinion is he realizes how awful it is what he did, he never said “mistake”, he said choice, that is also a rarity as many make excuses and I honestly think if he were to get probation he’s one who might actually do the right thing, certainly with no help from his mother (using the term very lightly) as she is clearly not a positive influence…his baby mama should’ve been the one to speak on his behalf.

She’s got six kids, at least one taken from her, two in jail, and she’s probably never held a permanent job in her life to support them. (Uber Eats doesn’t count as a permanent job.) I’m sure the other four are sadly on the same destructive path as their two siblings since children live what they learn.
