The credit for bringing such a brilliant mind to lead the External Affairs ministry goes to the Prime MInister. This is one of the most coveted amongst the top 4 cabinet posts. It is because of Mr. Modi's stature within the BJP and the NDP alliance that this induction was possible. One of the many beneficial offshoots of a majority government is the ability to take such bold decisions.

Many quotable quotes in this interview. My fav. "I think in this country there is almost a sort of a desire to see a problem and to exaggerate it beyond belief", aptly summarises the joblessness of our people with smartphones in the hand coupled with TRP hungry media, we as a country are in 24x7 debate and outrage mode.

Very refreshing to have a Minister with the appropriate background and the ability to get a point across.
Now, only if India (Modi) could get similar expertise at least in Finance and Defence. India is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. No idea why this is so difficult to implement.

"Neelo Anjana Ghana Punja Chayay" by Gurudeb Rabindranath Thakur
      English translation:
"The sky is covered with deep cumulus shades that are of the hue of blue kajal
O Solemn One, O Solemn One
The goddess of the forests - her body is trembling, her heart is excited,
Her anklet of cricket music is ringing
O Solemn One, O Solemn One
The song of the reunion has been sung in the beats of the cloud rumbling
The Kadamba (a monsoon flower) forest is immersed in the fragrance of happiness
The temple of Your celebrations have been decorated
O Solemn One, O Solemn One
The heated earth had been lying thirsty in the dust
Suddenly she has received the message of divine nectar from the palace of the Indra (the God of Rains)
The hardened, tough barriers of the dried soil have softened down
It has been broken down everywhere
The victory flags of new saplings have filled the face of the earth
The prisoners have broken free of their shackles
O Solemn One, O Solemn One
      "
