Thank you for these videos !!! I’m having a hard as HELLLLLLL time with the Maridia part, and text-wise walkthroughs are hard for me to understand , this was perfect
I may be rage quitting here. The vertical space jump is impossible for me. I just can’t make it more than 2 jumps without losing it. The gameplay is amazing but the controls are brutal here
How the hell do you space jump? It keeps jumping down. Like it goes up thrn floats down I am hammering the jump button as fast as I can. Any technique to go up?
Ok I think I got it took half an hour to get out of the sand go thru the grapple hole and up. I just pressed jump slower and kept pressing left and right. Wall jumping was easier and that was a pita.
@@someonewhatever611 Yeah space jump (and wall jump) are both more complicated than they need to be. For space jumping, I'd just wait about half a second after the peak of your jump to jump again.
Alright I've been following some of your guide because this area really sucks. Granted it it one of the later parts in this game which is fair. These upgrades like the space jump and grapple beam are the two most irritating items to use. If this game ever gets a full remake they NEED to fix these items. They make this game so frustrating to play. Literally trying to get to that stupid last morph ball upgrade and I'm stuck trying to transition from the water to the air using the space jump boots. Absolutely infuriating mechanic. Got that upgrade finally.
The E-Tank at 1:00 is so frigging hard to get even with space jump because I can't morph fast enough (God bless AM2R with a morph button) I'm a wait until I get springy ball.
Thank you! I never owned this game or Link to the Past [always played it at my friends'] so I can't remember any of it. Man, 8/16 bit days were rough. Btw who is the girl in the background lol
@@Dessyreqt Hahaha kewl. You have a calm voice. I kept listening and forgot where I was on the map. May I suggest using map inserts? You can cut them in on post production. Just an idea. Thanks.
@@triplecrosscounter That's dope. Adds to the chill factor. I watched a bunch of other play throughs, but they're mostly loud and annoying. This one's actually chill and helpful.
:51 there is a hallway to the right that you did not get into, can someone tell me how to enter in there? There seems to be an item there all the way to the right.
Good catch! There's not an item there, though. If you roll into a morph ball, you can find a rather unique enemy called the Oum that can't be killed, along with a missile recharge station on the other side of a door. I should add, in order to get past the oums, you'll want to just stand still and jump while aiming down. This will let the oums roll past you (or through you). On the way back out you can take advantage of some speed booster blocks to get out more quickly.
Dude, I fucking hate the space jump, it’s so fucking jank and broken. Maybe it’s an unfair comparison but in Samus returns it feels PERFECT, literally. But here it feels like garbage to use and the game should never have been released with an issue this big in it
As someone who just beat Dread and decided to play Super Metroid for the first time, rest assured that the controls for Dread are SO MUCH better and easier. It’s honestly hard switching to SM after playing Dread first since Dread plays so smoothly
The missile at 10:35 or whatever I actually got early cause I used bomb jumping. If you time your bombs right you can get it. I didn't know there was a bomb jump this is my first play through and I've just gotten so confused with all the shit you have to do that Ive resorted to walkthroughs
Wall jumping in this game is far harder than it really needs to be..
I was able to get passed the wall jumping after some difficulty, but maridia can get fucked. The goddamn sand makes me nuts.
I've been using these videos for help with Super Metroid myself. I'm playing it on the SNES Classic
me too but im playing it on the switch even thought i have the actual game
@@pspgamerserjio same! Probably gonna play the cartridge next
Thanks for the videos. I had forgotten how insanely difficult SM could be without a little help.

Same. The text walkthroughs don’t have any pictures! They are super unhelpful.
SPRING BALL!!! I've been a fan of this game since it came out and i've never gotten that item before! THANKS MANG!!!
I’d rather get the Spring Ball first since I HAVE to go down the sand pits TWICE. That’s really annoying (although the Spring Ball jumping helps).
Thank you so much, man!! You really helped me, I found items I never got the first time I played this game.
How did you do that jump at 6:35 I'm stuck in that hole and can't wall jump out due to the ledges. And have no enemies to freeze to use as ledges.
You still in that hole bro?
@@VanBurgen if you are receiving this message it is from light years away and I am still in the hole 🕳 . Send help

Question answered: After you get the space jump head to lower Norfair and get a few more items
If anyone finished this game in the 90’s before the days of RUclips, they are a monster
Nintendo Power was the only way.

I had no idea that gravity suit is the thing to go into lava deep

What about that blocked off part with the dot at the end in maridia

Nm some how I wall jumped off that hanging grass?! Who knew.
I also had space jump in that video, which allows you to repeatedly jump in the air.

Me too. I seen it with the scope and got it.
Space jump is so clunky on virtual console
I know right? I'm playing on Wii U and I'm struggling to get out of the area just above where you get screw attack
The fn lava keeps filling up and killing me. Space jump sucks...
Maybe slow down a bit very hard to follow. Space jump is hard to use
Apologies that it goes too quickly! Let me know if you have any more questions.
