I actually did read KoS without reading any other Grishaverse books (cause I didn’t know what the Grishaverse was) and I really enjoyed it. I fell in love with Nikolai and Zoya’s characters and although I liked Nina, I found her part of the story quite boring. Well now, I finished the trilogy and I’m halfway through six of crows and Nina is such an amazing character and my heart is already breaking ‘cause you know who dies 🙂 pain

I’ve finished the six of crows duology, I was wondering how the relationships/story compare with Nina? No spoilers please lol but I know in KoS she does have a different love interest while grieving you know who. I loved Nina and Matthias so so much and I’m afraid this will ruin my view of Nina? I’ve heard her parts are boring in comparison.

    1. I really love your reviewing style and your videos in general. Also, I am glad you seem to love King of Scars as much as I did. A lot of people seem to be rather disappointed by this one and I´ve never really understood why...
    2. I get the comment about Matthias, I´ve heard it a lot. Here´s the thing. Personally, I actually like his storyline including his death. In situations like the one in Crooked Kingdom, these things can happen. It was pointless, but that´s kind of the point. Some green boy who had been taught bigotry and hate killed him for no good reason, simply because he got spooked and reacted on instinct. And though I don´t believe for one second that this was an actual reason for Leigh Bardugo to kill off Matthias (I suspect she just wanted to add some artificial gravity to the story and potentially already thought of Nina´s future journey), it still did not bother at all. That being said, I shipped the two of them too :(((

Matthias died and because its a book we want a "reason why." But if the grishaverse was our real life-things happen, people die. So while i do think leigh wanted someone to die, I atleast try to think of it as bad things happen. and who knows maybe she had this book in her head and knew she could talk about grief !

That's what's frustrating though. It's a book, no one has to die and it should have a reason

I've never read any of the Grisha trilogy so is it okay if I started king of scars without any information about the grishaverse

Honestly I thinking it would be ok but maybe look up some spoilers from the other books

I have known a real life silvertonged Nikolai! It's one of the things that endeared the books to me. King of Scars and Rule of Wolves are the two best books.

If you do plan on watching DON you might find some scenes or clothes or dance moves weird or stupid that is because they are paying homage to the original DON that was released in the 80
