      I worked with Simon at the Carphone Warehouse, way back when One 2 One and Orange was launched, and he is honest and says what he thinks. You might not like what he says, but you always knew where you stood with him!

    Hands down, this guy would be the greatest dragon in the Den. And would also make one hell of a great Prime Minister. As well as a brilliantly incisive sports pundit. In addition to being the leading man in every soft-core gay movie. Not withstanding his outstanding business portfolio. Furthermore, he is, without doubt, a man convicted of having courage. Wake up England, we have the blond Clark Kent in our midst. Love this guy's self-belief borne of self-drive and self-determination.

      @@leadsuspect4964 it was his hard graft along with a few others that made Carphone Warehouse fortunes way back when they only had a couple of shops and a call centre. We were working (some of us) 7 days a week, 12 hours a day. The reason it's an easy job now was because of the hard graft put in by a small few (one of which was Simon) that set the company off on a path to where it is today.

    He's right, this country has lost it's ambition. Banks in this country won't touch you unless they can get a charge on your property as security, we're far behind other countries in infrastructure (when we used to build infrastructure for other countries). Instead of idolising great engineers and thinkers (like Brunel, as an example), we idolise airhead influencers and people whose only contribution is negative. Anyone who wants to set up their own business is better off going abroad.
