  • Kharkhari Lake is located 43 km from the beautiful valley of Kalam in Swat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 143 km from Mingora city and 26 km from Utror
The lake is about 10,000 feet above sea level
There is a jeep track up to Kharkhari Lake. The four-by-four vehicle can go straight to the lake
It is possible to drive a normal vehicle here, but you have to drive carefully with a expert driver
Its water is brown. In Pashto, "khar" means brown.
Probably because of this color of water, this lake has been named as "Kharkhari Lake".
Kharkhari Lake about 500 m long and 300 m wide. It is traversed by the Gabral river, a tributary of the Utrar River (which in turn joins the Ushu River to form the Swat River)
