see people think nirvana went mainstream. that's not true. not the slightest bit. mainstream went nirvana. that rarely happens to artists. maybe once in a generation. and for gen X it was Kurt. for millennials I would probably say eminem. every other artist/band conforms and adapts their style to appeal to demographics and make hits. kurt never did. he made his own music his own way and was an artist in every sense of the word. he was truly gifted. unfortunately gifted people often struggle with their place in the world and are tortured and suffer. some find the strength to survive. others succumb to their own genius in a twist of cruel irony. kurt was one of them. tragic indeed, but if you look throughout history he suffered the same fate many other tortured, gifted, genius artists do. by their own hand.
Lithium is a mood stabilizer drug and it's used to treat mania symptoms in bipolar disorder or mania unipolar disorder. Depression episodes are treated with antidepressants in combination with lithium.
I was grown up around these songs, i was so exited when i learned their name. Makes me sad, kurt was gone before i was even born. Those warm summer days on the beach, someone blasting this music, playing in the sand, liking it.
i simply wish i could witness a nirvana concert, im 12 and i just started listening to nirvana and it is the best band i have heard so far. You will always live in my heart though, kurt!!
Kurt is simply everything to me, I don't know how people would express themselves without his influence with great classics that even the person who hates rock has a super impact with his incredible and generic lyrics. In short, Kurt is and always will be a genius, we love you!✊❤
I remember listening to nirvana in middle school. I would bump this while skating or blazing. It was motivation. That's what real music does, it inspires especially when you could relate.
I'm 47 I was there I followed the European tour round Britain in 89 I met them . Novoselik was a god. Kurdt was so normal and depressing and the drummer wasn't grohl and the guitarist was fun
As a kid that grew up in WA, in Snohomish county, in the 90's, this music was practically a cultural requirement. Everyone listened to Nirvana. Grunge put Seattle on the map.
I can definitely see how this represents Bipolar Sydrome. I love how in the parts before and after he screams "Yeah" he simply changes his emotion as far as "I'm so excited, I'm so happy, I'm so ugly". Kurt's writing is so vivid we can barely understand what some of his songs are talking about. If only we knew.
for those of you who don’t know , this song was written about Kurt living with a Christian family that were extremely religious and basically their beliefs made him resent the thought of religion
Yoire fucking stupid, he literally said in one interview that this song was inspired but a relative of his or was almost suicidal and turned christian and he thought that was okay, that some people can use religion as a last resort and thats okay as well.
Nirvana, one of the few bands/music groups that sound amazing acoustic, live, or studio. When you can sound that good no matter the setting or stage that’s REAL talent.
@@generalred6260He allegedly killed himself that's what the story is but there are a lot of overlooked facts and there was only one case about it and it wasn't properly investigated as it was shrugged off as another rocker taking their life. Many clues point towards Courtney Love but I think instead of blaming her it should be investigated properly to make sure.
yeah biggest cover up and conspiracy in rock and roll history because theres motive surrounding his death and theres way to man y inconsistencies that can't be possible for one to kill them selves just doesn't make sense i say it again if you haven seen soaked in bleach check it out if you hadn't already thoroughly known about the case !
+Brandon Roberts late statement cortny love underestimated she a bitch helped drove him to suicide but did not directly kill him millennial always say that. In glad in from the x generation
Adam Hohnadel same sentiments. People say Elvis is still alive. There will always be conspiracies. But for the people who where there, they know what's up. Hard drugs and mental illness do not mix well. People seem to forget all of Kurt's previous suicidal statements actions and tendencies not too mention the ODs. Do people not know how much of a monster heroin really is? That's the saddest thing to come out of this travesty. A lack of awareness concerning drugs and suicide due to a shifting focus on conspiracies about money and murder. What I like to remember most about Kurt Cobain was how often he told people to fuck off and how much he hated people, even his own fans. If anything he was a genius in that respect. He hated bro culture, mainstream media, and stupid fucking people in general. I know he can rest at peace but these dumb fucks down here completely missed his message, and its fucking sad. Hearing teen spirit in a Disney movie hurt my gut so bad. Rest in peace man, and fuck all you morons out there.
" light my candles in a daze cuz I found God yeah yeah yeah"! Love that line. Kurt was a true legend in the history of music. I consider him up there with beatoven. True artist with a tortured soul...
Man...he was a tsunami...when this band came out I was really too young to understand his words and he left us before i got there. He touched on things most of the world didnt talk about and he did it fearlessly. I suppose he was the sort of person who felt too much and couldnt handle being down here. But before he left..he gave us anthems most of us can relate to. I hope he found peace in the end.

lithium- It is not known how lithium works to stabilize a person's mood. However, it does act on the central nervous system. It helps you to have more control over your emotions and helps you cope better with the problems of living. i think lithium is like a metaphor for his addiction. ill explain, many times heroin dealer also sell crack and heroin is isn't always available so they try to push it on heroin addicts and this song is a figurative explanation of that. i can only imagine he knew pills like a pharmacist being a junkie and made the connection and song when someone offered him some when he couldn't score once. either that or i have absolutely no idea what this song is about.
'Cause the music in heaven is shit... So God heard Kurt's songs and knew he was the one He was looking for.. The rest is history.. And he could also get hold of far better & stronger drugs than before.. which was a nice bonus. True story..!

see people think nirvana went mainstream. that's not true. not the slightest bit. mainstream went nirvana. that rarely happens to artists. maybe once in a generation. and for gen X it was Kurt. for millennials I would probably say eminem. every other artist/band conforms and adapts their style to appeal to demographics and make hits. kurt never did. he made his own music his own way and was an artist in every sense of the word. he was truly gifted. unfortunately gifted people often struggle with their place in the world and are tortured and suffer. some find the strength to survive. others succumb to their own genius in a twist of cruel irony. kurt was one of them. tragic indeed, but if you look throughout history he suffered the same fate many other tortured, gifted, genius artists do. by their own hand.
Ahmed Tarabichi totally agree... Thank you
you are welcome :)
I would say xxxTentacion is that once in a generation for gen z

Ahmed Tarabichi well said.
Lithium is a mood stabilizer drug and it's used to treat mania symptoms in bipolar disorder or mania unipolar disorder.
Depression episodes are treated with antidepressants in combination with lithium.
"Im so ugly" man, he was probably one of the most gorgeous human beings to ever exist. I would give anything to just go back and tell him.

im so happy cause my father always play this band's songs when i was younger
and i think my father raised me well.
I know!
I have countless memories of nirvana and alice in chains from when i was little!

Truth is we all suffer and we struggle to be seen and loved but at our core is mud lol
I'm fairly new to Nirvana's music but all I can say is that Kurt was definitely a beautiful person. Inside and out.
Kurt is simply everything to me, I don't know how people would express themselves without his influence with great classics that even the person who hates rock has a super impact with his incredible and generic lyrics. In short, Kurt is and always will be a genius, we love you!✊❤
And just maybe
I'm to blame for all I've heard
But I'm not sure...

Me too and very much like and love nirvana music forever more 😊
I remember listening to nirvana in middle school. I would bump this while skating or blazing. It was motivation. That's what real music does, it inspires especially when you could relate.
25 years... you will never be replaced
I'm 47 I was there I followed the European tour round Britain in 89 I met them . Novoselik was a god. Kurdt was so normal and depressing and the drummer wasn't grohl and the guitarist was fun

You don't look a day over 25.
Chad chaning was the drummer then. Great time in my life. How times have changed. We've lost something.....😢
The guitarist is kurt
Dont think kurt has ever been known to be a super fun guy. His lyrics and stage presence should have been a dead giveaway.
Probably the most relatable song about mental health ever written. Kurt was a genius.
Agree with that 👌 💯 👍 😊
As a kid that grew up in WA, in Snohomish county, in the 90's, this music was practically a cultural requirement.

Kurt:I killed you I’m not gonna crack
Me:I think you already did

for those of you who don’t know , this song was written about Kurt living with a Christian family that were extremely religious and basically their beliefs made him resent the thought of religion
this song is about how he basically killed his gf by giving her lithium salts bc she was depressed abt sum and she overdosed on them
Yoire fucking stupid, he literally said in one interview that this song was inspired but a relative of his or was almost suicidal and turned christian and he thought that was okay, that some people can use religion as a last resort and thats okay as well.
Nirvana, one of the few bands/music groups that sound amazing acoustic, live, or studio. When you can sound that good no matter the setting or stage that’s REAL talent.
Happy 51st Birthday today Kurt.
It's a shame what happened to Kurt and I wish he truly did make it to his 51st birthday
I thought he killed him self (I not too sure)
@@generalred6260He allegedly killed himself that's what the story is but there are a lot of overlooked facts and there was only one case about it and it wasn't properly investigated as it was shrugged off as another rocker taking their life. Many clues point towards Courtney Love but I think instead of blaming her it should be investigated properly to make sure.
@noobenstein Kurt himself was a feminist.
@@logandavis2273 So in both ways a feminist killed him....
the song is about the depressive lows and chaotic highs of bipolar disorder hence the name lithium with helps with bipolar disorder
I'd do anything to watch nirvana play live again but now Kurts gone
yeah biggest cover up and conspiracy in rock and roll history because theres motive surrounding his death and theres way to man y inconsistencies that can't be possible for one to kill them selves just doesn't make sense i say it again if you haven seen soaked in bleach check it out if you hadn't already thoroughly known about the case !
+Brandon Roberts late statement cortny love underestimated she a bitch helped drove him to suicide but did not directly kill him millennial always say that. In glad in from the x generation
James Dominguez watch foo fighters
Hologram?
I watched the Tupac hologram thing, and it made me sad.

What Kurt Cobain didn't know was that in the 21st century millions would be listening to his songs. He didn't know he would live forever.
I kinda think he did know...
kurt cobain: "i'm so ugly"
you literally look just like prince charming with ur handsome face and long blonde hair, if thats ugly idk what beauty is.
He’s meaning that he’s ugly in inside
He talk about his soul mind not physical. Talk about depression and bipolar crisis. That's what he feels inside

Kurt is so attractive. How could he belive he was ugly.
I think he's actually referring to himself as ugly on the inside.
Depression
@@catthesociopath8105 I thought it was referring to physical appearance because of the Genius annotation, and plus in the song he says "we broke our mirrors"
@@mckenziesmith1127 I think the breaking your mirrors line represents ignoring your flaws instead of facing them. But it's all up to interpretation. The song is vague enough to be looked into or be seen at face level.
Actually a lot of people have a false self image of their selves even you could be suffering from it ..
I'm so glad I discovered this song 2 years ago

Something about melody of Kurt's voice over the chorus. Always gives me chills. My favorite Nirvana song for sure.

lithium-
It is not known how lithium works to stabilize a person's mood.
Why God? Why Kurt? He was so talented
'Cause the music in heaven is shit... So God heard Kurt's songs and knew he was the one He was looking for..
