You shouldn’t need your full squad of players to have a system or style of play. Other clubs carry on playing their style with injuries. We DONT HAVE A STYLE OF PLAY.
We do have a style of play, it just isn't working. Players don't believe it and we don't have the players to fulfil it
Our style of play requires a lot of running including tracking back, which is a problem for some of these players (either because they can't or don't want to).
That said, Eth got it wrong in Liverpool game. He should have played with a double pivot and played more counter attacking and not left Casemiro exposed. With Ugarte, might be able to play with a single pivot but not when Casemiro is playing.

@@treskaz4295 the club employs a huge number of scouts who monitor players all around the world. Even Ole on The Overlap said there's not a player the club won't have a scout report on. I'm pretty sure the recruitment department should be able to identify players that csn play in a particular system.

Zirkzee is a better technical footballer than rasmus and dalot and mazraoui are more technical than shaw so if anything united will look even worse if shaw rasmus come in for zirkzee and mazraoui
@@sagethinker7168 Mazraoui is not playing left back though, he's playing right back. Dalot is filling in for Shaw. So when (or if..) Shaw returns to fitness, it will likely be Dalot at RB and Mazraoui on the bench. I haven't seen much of Zirkzee, but from what i've seen, i'd rather have Rasmus as no9 than Zikrzee.

it's not up to Ineos. Their job is to appoint football people to make these decisions. They've appointed Dan Ashworth as DoF, who no one complained about before his appointment. Jason Wilcox was also previously Academy Director at City. I don't think it's fair to say these people are unqualified to lay down a proper footballing philosophy at the club.
Ineos literally courted other managers before the fa cup final. Just coz they stuck with ten hag doesnt mean they want him for the long term. A lot of united fans wont like this but united will never play good football with the likes of bruno, rashford and garnacho in the side as they simply cannot keep hold of the ball. If united want to play good football they should be building the team around the likes of mainoo, Amad, dalot, mazraoui, yoro and zirkzee etc
we can, probably without rashford because of he’s 26 and isn’t as malleable of a player as garnacho now. (i’m even a rashford fan) .But we’ve seen even under ten hag bruno can play well deeper and retain the ball. The issue we have is our shape in build up. Ten hag setting us up in a 3-1-6 is suicide because u need to have world class technicians everywhere and also an extremely fit team, which unless ur city it’s impossible to work and they even set up in a 3-2-5 which is more conservative. All this just comes to show its not a player issue anymore, its a fundamental systematic problem which is fixable but ETH is too stubborn to change
Bruno is not the problem, he will come good. Garnacho needs to vastly improve his hold up play and football intelligence but he deserves more time, Rashford is what he is, an elite talent who only shows up sporadically....

Some fans always Demanding style of play (like city or Liverpool) but at the same time they don't want to accept when we lose but we keep trying to play some style of football.
Against Liverpool, it was an open match, Liverpool also too open in defence, the problem is our attacker didnt capitilize it while Liverpool attacker score the goal. We also have Casemiro who make mistake Twice and then after that the mental of the team go down. I dont think tactically Ten hag is much different to slot, the difference is the execution of the player.

INEOS wants to see style of play in just 3 games? Wow. INEOS are clueless. We only signed 5 players, and most of them haven't trained with the team for 2 weeks!!! We released over 10 players. And our bench consists of Maguire, 37 year old Evans, Lindelof, etc, who are INCAPABLE of playing the high press Ten Hag wants. And Man United supporters are DELUDED. Man United is still a very weak team. There is a lot of deadwood there. No manager, Ten Hag included, can fix ten years of mess in one window. And since when does signing 5 players equate to "heavy backing" of a manager? Clearing Maguire and company in one window is "heavy backing".
ETH has had two full seasons.

i agree with a lot of what you're saying. My problem with EtH is that he seems very naive (or more likely just stubborn). He knows these players can't play the way he wants, or how he sets the team up, but continues with it anyway.
He needs to be more pragmatic, especially last season when he kept going on about the injuries but refused to adapt to the situation. Until he has the right squad, he shouldn't be playing this open style of football, otherwise we will end up with negative goal difference again (which i think we will).
