"Mechanical damage" can cause brown leaf tips - but when the leaf has a yellow area, and then a brown tip, the culprit is usually chlorine or chloramine in the water. In our nursery, we never use water straight from the tap for watering. Instead, we allow the water to sit in an open container for 24 hours to allow those chemicals to "bleed" out of the water, and for the water to reach room temperature. This trick alone will eliminate virtually all of the formation of the yellow and brown leaf tips. Existing damage would still need to be cut off - so here's another trick to seal the cut: after trimming the tip, trace a fingertip dipped into raw egg white along the cut edge, and the cut won't normally dry out and show a narrow brown band (fortunately, we rarely need to trim an edge). Excellent, very informative video, BTW.
You are awesome. Everything was well said🙏🏼 not only did you open my eyes to know my plant better, but also you motivated me and educated me to take care of it better with more love.
Wow, turns our I have a Cintho and not a Massangeana! My experience is that the varigation fades when it is too dark (doesn't disappear, just harder to see).
Thank you so much! Can you maybe speak about the Draceana White Bird? I have it for almost a month, a small one, in 12cm pot. I've been watering it once a week, yet I see some leaves started to curl outward. Also, the green was a bit darker on it - now it's becoming a lighter green. Would love your thought about this one! Thank you! :)
Hallo guys! I really missed your videos, you made them so clear and informative than 21min passed so fast! I life i Österreich and i would like to have some philodendrons indoors, could you recommend some good for this weather? Thanks Pd: just a little tip if i may, could you put in the title something like "care and pruning dracena..." so who doesnt know you will immediately knows what is about the video and not just a display of a plant.
.. The Swedish plantguys already have a video about care and pruning Dracena.. Just go to their page and look for it.. Being a philodendron living in Austria is not very different from most other places, as an indoor plant.. It is the way you take care of it that matters.. I've got several philodendron and pothos living in Denmark, and they are doing perfectly fine.. So it is up to you to just choose witch one you want 🤗
Hello . I m new to plants and i bought dracena. I m having little bit problem with my plant .i want to know that dracena cintho and dracena lemon lime plant is same or different? Thank you 😊
I have the dracaena massangeana as a gift. I have not pushed the container off to see the roots. I didn’t know till now, But when I stick my finger in the dirt to see if it needs water, the dirt is very loose. Is dirt supposed to be packed like yours?
What type of fertilizer should I give my Cintho? I’ve been using 0.15-0.85-0.55. It seems to be growing rather fast, but the leaves are longer rather than wider. I dilute the fertilizer rather heavily.
Hello, I have a big Dracaena Janet Lind with three big stamms. Can I divide the plant in three separate plants, so what I mean is to divide the roots of the mother plant into three parts and than plant all three parts separately? Thanks in advance for your support.
My Lemon Suprise Dracaena arrived with spiders. It's a older plant and I hate spiders- black ones so it got hosed down 😢😢😭😭😭 big mistake. Its leaves especially at the bottom turned black. Idk what to do.. should cut the top and try to save it, those leaves look the strongest. Should I cut all the black leaves off? Any direction would help I'll even send pics
