two artists in this world that have the ability to legitimately catapult me into a different spiritual dimension the names are Harrison BDP and Ricardo Villalobos
This track is just too good. It embodies everything great about Villalobos and his music. Trance inducing, infinitely groovy, deep, driving, trippy, simple, complex. Simply this track truly has it all, timeless stuff.
What dynamics, can't you hear he squashed the dynamic by distorting the whole master bus? Dynamics and velocity is not just buzz words. They don't mean things are louder. They mean a difference between the quiet and loud part in case of dynamics and in case of velocity different levels of amplitude if we are talking about amp velocity. All the dynamic content and the transients got chopped by the distortion that he intruduced, most likely by overriding his master channel. This is pretty much how Robert Armani produced his tracks in the 90's. Run it all red. There you ahve it, the secret of "dynamics" is out.
Wait, that's what his music sounds like? I thought he was a musical genius. Now it all makes sense. He attached himelf to Ritchie, to get popular. I met him once at DEMF, along with Ritchie. He was not wel known back then and at that time he was so high, Richie practicaly had to carry him. I thought to myself, who is this dopehead? Later, he soon became one the most know Dj of whatever genre he's playing. At least that is how I perceived it and then I thought to myself, never judge the book by its cover. Now it is the first time I checked his production and I am thinking to myself, I did not misjudge the cover at all. I mean it's not too bad, but evidenlty he ran his master hot, so there is no sensible balance to his distortion technique. Something a semi pro would do. Whoever did the master, saved the track. The overall mix is shit, I don't think he even bothered. Musically the track is not off, but there aren't many musical elements besides the main loop he ripped off somewhere and some other loop, which he sometime pitches up or down. Honestly I was expecting something of Tim Xavier caliiber. Check out his shit. He's just wicked.
man why the hate? Ricardo IS a widely regarded musical genius in a league of his own. he attached himself to Ritchie to get famous? LOL. If you had read some of his interviews you would know he is very anti promotion and does not intentionally seek fame. He is also known for his raw and unfiltered style. I don't understand the technical points you make which might very well be true but look at the label name - LOFI stereo.. he has very high quality productions - check one his recent remixes - black apple pink apple remixif you want some master class mastering
@@ivaylospasov8162 Polka gets people emotional too.I don't think you understand what mastering is and I will inform you that people hardly turn down a good song becasue it's poorly masterd. When you mention that people regard him as musical genius, you need to verify who these peple are. I so happen to have spoken with people that were respinsible for some most iconic tracks ever made, you know the Chicago legends. Most of them don't know who Vilalobos is or cares and defienately they don't view him as genius. I think that means something. He is only known in the world where house and techno have been comertialized and turned into a business genre. With proper marketing anyone becomes a genius. You need to develop some standards if you want to experience realy good music in your life. However are entitled to your emotional opinion though and I only gave a technical review.
This was a top DC10 track back in the late 90s/2000s. It’s on my “DC10 Ibiza Greatest Hits Part 6” series on my RUclips channel. Check it out guys and please subscribe :)
Nothing better than a wobbly Ricardo 10+ minutes track played in full at a dark and sweaty room

mucha potencia, mucha elegancia. Una verdadera obra maestra de la pista de baile. Legendaria como 808 the bassqueen
Love the use of velocity and dynamics

also technical points become mostly irrelevant if the track invokes emotion in the listeners and i can guarantee it achieves that for a lot of us :)
