Makes me wish I bought the '88 dually crew cab 3500 with 454 I saw on Facebook for $8000 about 2 years ago. It needed some love on the body and interior, but I checked out the motor and test drove it and it was a very smooth ride. Shifted perfectly, no ticks or weird sounds, suspension felt pretty good, and all the electrical worked. The only problem was I knew how much the fuel costs would be. Still wish I bought it though. I love older chevy trucks, not those plastic looking things.

woow. never thought id see the day but bro these are classics now. years ago my family purchased a 79 vette for 3 grand and immediately insured it for its value of 16-20k and its value has just went up. a few years back i bought a 94 s10 blazer last year of the square body. 800 bux and the ac worked cool deal in florida. drove it 60k miles replaced everything basically motor died at 300k. stuffed a mild v8 in it and started getting offers for over 10 for it. used car shortage hit and they jumped to 12-15k and im like wtf is goin on. but yeah i guess thats what things go for now.
What an amazing truck! I had those in 1500, great trucks, just didn't like the low back bench seat. Handle so well. Just missed the era of abs brakes and airbags.

I'm trying to figure how a TH400 costs $6,000, even a built one. As far as I know they'll easily hold up against 500+ HP with only some minor upgrades. Unless you sprung for one that could hold 2,000HP for some reason.

A big block or a Cummins. My dually square body had a 350 small block and it was a DOG. I fixed it though. No 1 ton should have ever come with a small block.
Guess I'll keep my 1990 F350 crew cab 4wd, 8' box, 351, 5 speed manual with manual hubs. Interior is mint, exterior is near mint. Bought it when it was 1 year old. Now has 96,000 on it. It's not a show truck. I use it for hauling, trailer towing and snow plowing the driveway and it's always kept in the garage and I try avoid rain and winter driving. Not sure of the value.
That's awesome! I'm just finishing up an 81 Scottsdale K20 single cab. I've had it for years paid 1200 for it. I'm building it to sell as well I didn't go all out though I left the cab on tge (edit the) frame when I painted the frame it could be a little more detailed for perfection as far as the undercarriage goes but it's going to turn out pretty good looking. And it has a fresh turbocharged 468 under the hood I've just broken in haven't put many miles on it yet. I'm tuning it for just an all around tough truck. Although it's projected too see around 800-900 wheel horses I'm going to tune it to around 600 ish whp. It has on board air with a 50' hose reel and on board 110 volt power supply with a 75' reel. It's apart now for paint. It was sandblasted and rust repaired should be finished soon. It's on my channel somewhere if any are interested.
74 was the last year of full convertible..and I have one with 1 ton axles 456 gears and lockers ..205 transfer case..44inch tires..did a full rebuild of this k5..would never let it go

Do a frame off restoration, professionally done. Built engine and trans, built running gear. And you’ll come close. This truck has almost 500HP at the wheels, Strange Engineering axles etc. it’s worth it. $25,000 in just the axles and transfer case I bet.
