The rest of the world has no idea how HUGE this show is in Spanish speaking countries and Brazil.
Totalmente , en España lo conocemos perfectamente 😂😂😂
And only the Mexicans know the dark side of this show😉
Here in Brazil they're like gods
Bro I literally got goosebumps watching this
And tears remembering my grandma 😢
Or Spanish channels in the States
As someone who grew up watching el Chavo del 8 and Kenan & Kel, i gotta say it felt very surreal to see those two worlds colliding in a SNL sketch 😂
💯
Same here. 😂🇺🇸🇲🇽
Nah fr Kenan portraying Sr. Barriga is crazy 😭
Facts
Same!
Marcello and Benito had been waiting their whole life to play El Chavo del 8 and Quico
Let’s bring back the Chespirito Renaissance
Sarah nailed it
omg yes😂😂 hahahahha
Bet
Quico is spot on, I'm not sure about Chavo. I'd say is more a problem about writing than actor, Chavo here is a bit too proactive, a bit malicious. The original Chavo ends up messing with people out of stupidity and clumsiness rather than malice.
Bad Bunny nailed Quico voice. 😂
Es igualitooo!
Siiiiiii😅
wat r u dewing 🤓
It's kiko
@davidrojas5191its.... quico
This might have gone over the English speaking audience’s heads. But every Latino understands how iconic this skit is.
FACTS
Except el chavo is a homeless orphan, wdym “my mother always says”, SNL??
@caroaraujog I thought there was going to be a punchline about it lol
@caroaraujog Quico and the three kids crying are the best part of this skit. Otherwise it seems like they were making fun of the source material instead of presenting it to a new audience.
Facts 💯
I grew up watching this show, I never thought I'd see an SNL sketch based on it LMAO 💀💀
They butchered it 🤦
Wait till the cult says SNL has gone WOKE
Me too!!! Love it ❤😂😂
@thunderboltpenetrator8498 I mean not everything needs to be translated and they did it on purpose
@thunderboltpenetrator8498it was not funny at all, but it was nostalgic! It was kinda emotional
I cannot imagine being a gringo and watching this without any kind of context... Must be a really surreal experience.
Yeah I have no idea what this is…but I assumed when I watched it live that it must be a reference to popular show in Spanish speaking countries. So I’m good with it.
@vanessahobbes3072spanish speaking and Brasil
@vanessahobbes3072I would look at it like it’s one of those silly English dubs we get from old shows from other countries. Where the mannerisms and stuff are obviously funny in the context of the culture it’s from, but kind of silly to Americans. I also think the original show is super old so the humor is different and it’s mainly really charming.
Gringo here. Yes surreal is the right word 😂
That surprises me, since gringos seem to recognize Bumblebee Man as Chapulin (or maybe the other way around)
Benito parece más Quico que el mismo Quico🤣🤣🤣🤣
Si 😂😂😂😂
Bolaños
SIII 😂 LLORÉ DE RISA AL VER EL VÍDEO ME REÍ TANTO 🤣🤣🤣
@mechitalunabella7313😅😅😅😭🤧🤗🤣
Sí!!!!
Bad bunny's quico impression was spot on.
prob because he grew up with it everyone in pr did 😭🙏
The cheeks!😅
I had a friend in grad school who was Dominican who had those cheeks. He kind of looked like Quico😅
@ozydius Yeah, but not everyone can imitate Quico like Benito did. The voice, the expressions, everything was perfect.
He nailed it so hard it's kinda creepy, like if he was waiting for this chance his entire life.
He had the best performance!!!
I would never imagine to see El Chavo del 8 as a SNL sketch. Its simply surreal.
Much less Sarah Sherman as la Chilindrina 🤯
It only took 50 years to get around to it.
Pobres Yankees que deben soportar la invasión espalda mojadas😆sobre todo este idiota de Bad Bunny😆
They should parody Otro Rollo next 😂
That's true! 😅
If u are latino, this show is part of your childhood 😅
You're absolutely right. 🇧🇷
Totalmente cierto
XOXO desde #Ecuador🇪🇨🙋🏻♂️
As Mexican American 1st generation grew up watching chavo this was actually good 😂
No it wasn't. As a Mexican. They are just pandering.
@TheCatbert2010 ok kid
I was born in US and still watched this growing up in a Spanish speaking home. 😂
No one:
SNL: “No contaban con mi astucia!”
"Lo tenia fríamente calculado"-SNL
SNL: El Maestro Longaniza
Up next, a parody of Otro Rollo. SNL: 🎶Es Otro SNL!...Nada es lo que pareceeee! 🎶
Cuando hagan El chapulin.
😂😂
I can tell Benito did watch el chavo del 8. That Kiko impression was perfect
Trust me, as a fellow Puerto Rican like Benito, a lot of us grew up on the reruns of El Chavo del Ocho.
@Phanthief95 Every single puertorrican from the 70’ all the way to the 2000’ watched El Chavo. It can’t be one single person from those times that didn’t enjoy el chavo.
We all watched El chavo
El "Chavo del ocho" reruns (as well as Chespirito's other hit show, Chapulín Colorado) played on local tv for many years. Not sure if they still do, but I was born in 84 and grew up watching both of those shows. Pretty sure we all did and not just Puerto Ricans, but every Latin American person around my age or a bit older/younger is familiar. Even Brazilians watched it dubbed in Portuguese.
Bro there’s literally like only 5 shows you were allowed to watch.
I can’t believe i just saw Kenan tompson playing el señor barriga 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I know right? I laughed my ass off!! 😂
Mr. Stomach!! So funny! 😂😂😂
Lol we are living a different timeline
No será mucho barriga? señor homenaje.
@elpinonomx al chile!
2:49 whaaat you don't have any money for the reeeeeeeeent😂😂😂😂
USA audience: what is that!?
Latinamerican audience: This is Cinema 😎
a classic 😂
for real
In Italy: Is The Cecco Della Botte
Nah this was Ahhz
Basically
brazil is part of latinamerica just not hispanic
Never in my wildest dreams would I have expected SNL to do Chavo del Ocho. For those who don't know this TV show a cultural phenomenon from the 70s that has persisted through generations.
After El Chapulín Colorado showed up in Fortnite, everything is possible.
KEKW
An absolute comedy classic
I remember watching this in the 80’s when I was a child❤
Agreed!
Man, I'm Mexican and this is CRAZY, this feels like some kind of fever dream listening TV in my grandma's house
Awe I miss my grandma. I once caught her in her rocking chair watching MTV 😂
Raza this show was firmed in mexico with mexican actor but el chavo belong to all of us.
as a brazilian, I feel the same way! hahaha
It does feel like a fever dream!!
I loved it, wouldn’t mind seeing a remake just like this 🥹
"Well in that case, i don't have a father" I loved that part. 😂😂😂But Chilindrina would never say that; what she does say is something like: "Dad, the spilled water tank has arrived". Or "The meatball with legs has arrived". 😂😂
Mexican here, never in my life I thought I'll ever seee Kenan as el señor barriga, this is insanely awesome, thanks
Too bad it sucked 😂
Chilindrina sounded like Dora
Le hubieran puesto Mr Belly mejor no??
I grew up in Mexico watching Kenan and Kel in Spanish. This is mind boggling
I know, when I was a kid I had white shoes and the boys used to call me doña Florinda. They really nailed it.
Nunca pensé ni en un millón de años que SNL haría un sketch de El Chavo del Ocho. ¡Eso fue épico! 🏆
Totally
Esto fue vergonzoso!
@so-fabulous la tuya
@meinherzbrennt9007 escribe la misma estupidez en todas partes, el/ella necesita atencion
@meinherzbrennt9007 Aww, did I hurt your little feelings?
I love that the stage audience is too silent go understand this sketch, but those of us who grew up with the show greatly appreciate how accurate the original show referenced is.
FOR SURE!!!!!
Was the studio audience silent or were they using a prerecorded laugh track, since that’s what it seems like the original show used?
It is not accurate at all. I am 50 years old, watching El Chavo since the 70s. This is really bad.
@vjreiI have a feeling that you are a hater or just too old to remember the show. I grew up with the show and as compared to you who are twice my age, I watched it more recently. This is pretty accurate in an SNL skit way.
@vjreiWHAT WERE YOU EXPECTING? THIS IS A PARODIA OF THE ORIGINAL SHOW, IN ENGLISH, AND WAS VERY FUNNY. I LIKED IT.
The whole continent is Happy 😊
Brazilian nation was absolutely RAISED BY el chavo del ocho
Was it dubbed in Portuguese?
@roslop5967 Yes, and it marked our childhood. I`m 41 and I still watch it
era a creche estilo homeoffice
@20thcenturyspirit One thing doesn't delete the other... SNL is great, and Angelina was great too.
Idk why americans are obsessed to be forced and put an Neg... African in their shows 😅 that's so schiuuupitttt
John Hamm as Profesor Girafales wasn’t on my Bingo Card hahahhaa
I was wondering who that was.
bless you for this comment, clearly the audience recognized him through the makeup but i did not
I just sent this link to my family and said the exact same thing. 😂
That was awesome! I knew it was him from the first gesture. I wonder if he ever actually watched it? You never know with him. I never knew he was a Smiths fan🤷♂️😂
FOREAL SAME HE IS HILARIOUS 😂
you can definitely tell the audience didn’t understand the references, but it’s makes me so happy that SNL referenced this iconic show for Latin audiences
That was definitely bad bunny’s idea
@Nick-ty9usI feel like it may even have been Marcelo’s idea or their joint idea
Referenced?? They did a whole skit about it that bombed. Even Latinos under the age of 30 are calling their Abuelas to find out if this was funny or not
🔥 🔥
chavo del 8!! This is not "lAtInO" is MEXICAN Comedy🇲🇽🔥
The ending 😂😂😂
Dear English speakers the jokes were silly but for us Latinos who watched this with our parents… for me in the 80’s… this was hilarious and as someone mentioned… bad bunny impersonation of Kiko was spot on… lol I loved this skit!
Naah they have Sessamo Street and Mister Rogers, they have their silly TV shows too. 😂
Y además se pierde bastante en inglés. En Español y en Portugués los sketches funcionan de maravilla
@TheMexicanGoose eso, eso, eso
Doesn't hit the same in English.
While Spanish is funny as hell, English is kinda silly 😅
A Benito le queda mejor el papel de Kiko que el papel de 💩 🐰!
Nunca en la vida pensé ver a bad bunny como Quico ni mucho menos a una parodia del chavo del 8 en SNL 😱😱🤣
Me neither lol lol but i loved it... Didnt you?
@Haybarr77a quien no. Sin duda Benito nació para esto sjjsjs
@PieroFlores-p7y cierto cierto jajaj
@Haybarr77 Creí que eras gringo XD
@Haybarr77 por supuesto mas bien... Sigues ahi?
I'm Brazilian 🇧🇷, I grew up watching El Chavo (Chaves, here) and I never thought would be a parody on Saturday Night Live, that's amazing!
Sempre tem um brasileiro pra dizer "i am Brazilian" ou "i'm from Brazil" kkkkkkkkkkkkk
Mexicans and Brazilians love El Chavo 🇲🇽🇧🇷
They made Don Barriga black lol. But his name doesn't translate to "Mr. Stomach," it's more like Mr. Belly, but I think that's the joke 😂
@sirenloud All of South America loves El Chavo Del Ocho! 🙌👍
@Estatísticas-m3x obvio, temos q marcar presença em tudo q tem a ver com a gente
Benito is something else 👏🏽😂👏🏽🤣👏🏽😂
You can tell Bad Bunny grew up with this show because his Quico is spot on
Might very watched alot but he was born in the 90s and this show is from the 70s
And reruns constantly played on Spanish language tv stations in the 90s. I was a 90s kid and hated it because my grandparents always had it on and I wanted to watch cartoons instead.
@mike_c-t7jeverybody in Latin America from the 80’s ,90’s and 2000’s and till now have watched this show at least once
@mike_c-t7j All Puerto Ricans have watched this show growing up, they air it to this day on the island
@mike_c-t7jit has reruns. I didn't see it until the 2000s
fun fact, el chavo started in 1973 and SNL in 1975
Both famous tv shows of the 70s.
The thing that boggles me the most is that "Chaves" (In Brazil) is so old and has very few episodes, yet it's been on Television for over 50 years. I must have watched every episode a hundred times as a kid and it always felt new to me. I didn't find out it was so old until my dad told me he also grew up watching it 😂
@everythingisblueevenyourso1432probably not the same episodes since they recorded multiple versions of each episode for some reason
There’s 400 espidoes Total
And it only took 51 years to reach SNL😀 It was kinda surreal actually 👍🏻
I love thinking that the SNL cast had to study "El Chavo del Ocho" episodes for hours after Bad Bunny threw this one out at a writer's meeting. Well done.
I think Marcello was like.....hold my beer! hahahaha
Right. It’s fantastic- Bunny the truth
🎉🎉
They most likely did.
I did not imagine I would say: “You know what, Bad Bunny is alright”. I actually like the guy now. Great Tribute to a show we all grew up watching. El Chavo lives in our hearts forever
1:58 WIRELESS PUNCH!!
That's how they did it in the original series
The crazy thing is this isn’t even an exaggeration. This is literally the plot of every single episode 🤣🤣🤣
This was amazing. Such an homage to Latin comedy
Totally! I remember watching this on TV in PR back in the day. 😂
Not exactly the plot of every episode, but a very ok-ish approximation of the overall tone. Especially for being played by mostly actors who I bet had never heard of _El chavo del ocho_ until a week before they started getting ready for the episode. I also wonder why they didn't have Mikey Day play Don Ramón; Day has the wiry frame that Ramón Valdez (RIP) had .
Jajaja literal
That’s the perfect homage, exactly a synthesis of an episode in 3 minutes. The difference is the money here, is more money than in all seasons of El Chavo (Chaves)
"Mr. Stomach"... that was very creative, great literal translation and a very Spanglish version. 😂😅😅
But why not "Mr. Belly"?
@naggerboy-v3uBecause their English was not that good.
@naggerboy-v3u Yes i think so too, Mr Big Belly ,. or Mr Huge / massive Belly will works very well instead Mr Stomach.
I never imagined I would ever see this crossover in my life. Many generations of kids in Latin America grew on "El Chavo". This is like a fever dream for a Latin American SNL fan.
And Sarah Sherman nailed it as La Chilindrina.
i wish she would have done her famous crying scenes! "vas a ver con mi papa!"
I'm not familiar with it but I'm so happy that they did that for the people who can appreciate it. We need more of that
Chilindrine 😂
Come on! SNL did it for years. Parodies of Telenovelas, Telemundo news, Sabado Gigante,
La Policia Mexicana series etc. now is turn for Chespirito.
Well actually she did les the the rest of the actors. But is understandble. I am from Perú and in my country love this show. My generation grew up watching el Chavo. Maybe they could try a diferent situation. El chavo doing that to la chilindrina is not that typical that seems more like something la chilindrina would to to el chavo jajajaja and also that el chavo doesn't have a Mother. But I really enjoyed this so much. Loved it.
Anybody who is latino knows what el chavo del ocho is - its a mexican show from the 70s but all of us from every country and every decade watched the reruns, its a classic! Crazy to see it on SNL!
This almost made me cry, growing up in Mexico as a kid watching this and El Chapulin was something else ❤ I appreciate yall SNL!!!
Me too. I did cry.
I'm literally crying right now. My childhood encapsulated! Thank you SNL
If they're going to do a Chapulín sketch, do it right, he's like the mexican Spider-Man but funny.
Same 🥹
@javier5215CRYING?? This is a joke! It's disrespectful
As a mexican teen that grew up watching El chavo del 8 All I have to say is
You did an amazing job!
Thank you for presenting such an iconic show for all of Mexico and Spanish-speaking people 🥰🇲🇽🫶🏻
very popular too in Brazil until nowadays, but translated into portuguese ❤
Why is the acting so bad, tho. At least in Brazilian dub, the acting was good.
As a Mexican who grew up watching this show, I must admit, Bad Bunny's Quico impersonation could not have been better! I could have never imagined seeing Chavo del ocho on SNL even less with this cast. This is such an iconic show for possibly every spanish-speaking country
Aigh' Dumas
And Brazil
Bad Bunny did an amazing job.
El chavo + SNL what a Time to be alive!!!!!!!
As a Brazilian who grew up watching Chavo this feels like a surreal dream seeing SNL making this sketch, chavo is a massive phenomenon in Brazil and to this present moment it is one of the biggest TV series ever in the history of our country! 🇧🇷
I never knew! I thought only in Mexico is was huge. But Brazil?!
@MsMaAlonzo you can even say El Chavo del Ocho is way more huge in Brazil than in Mexico. It's incredibly popular there.
@jom1301 It was definetelly more huge in Brazil than any part of the world
@MsMaAlonzoit was huge across most if not all of Latin America
@MsMaAlonzo El Chavo is basically one of our national treasures at this point
This series was present in my entire childhood! Can't believe is now an SNL skit. You guys nailed it!!
I loved it when I was a child as well! Yes, they got it all right!
I always had my grandma watching it in the living room while I lay to try and take a nap 😂
@Cerxtsnow it's sadly become a show that Mexicans love to hate. I love my country but I don't get it sometimes.
Bad Bunny 🐰 Hats off to him! ❤
I would always watch this with my dad and loved it❤ it’s so funny!!
This took me back. I grew up watching this show. They nailed it.
I think this won’t be appreciated by many, but I think those of us who do understand it will be left with big smiles.
Idk, this was funnier than 80+% of other SNL skits.
They forgot, “chusma, chusma, chusma”.
Yes, indeed!
Those other folks are only going to be mad because they still WATCH SNL and they have no clue what is going on...😂😂😂
I married into a Latina family and when I saw this I got so pumped
Soy mexicano y debo admitir que Bad Bunny lo hizo increíble
Desde el tono de voz hasta las frases
concuerdo deberia dejar de cantar y ponerse a actuar
@Ghoxtfireporque no los dos?
@Ghoxtfireél actúa, ya hace las dos cosas
seee hasta dijo come torta! igual que kiko
@hectormiguelriveroleija5867la verdad es que lo hizo muy bien porque al no ser mexicano le podía salir mal
El chavo was an orphan, he was always hungry, and had very good friends in the neighborhood, none of the characters had both parents, the humor was white, there was no malice or bad intentions, but things used to always spin out of control in a funny way . That show was a comedy masterpiece, beloved by millions, kids and adults, even grandparents. The whole family laughing watching it was and is, something normal in Latin America. The show is still aired after more than 50 years, but most of us watch it on youtube if we want to have a laugh and forget our problems from time to time.
Simpler times my friend.. thank you for those kind words.
Eu durmo assistindo o Chaves, dublado em português. Tem horas que eu falo as frases junto com os personagens, porque eu decorei 😂😂😂😂😂😂 40 anos assistindo o Chavinho
Loved your comment!!
Benito did the best “mama mamita!” and the cry on point
This was perfection at its finest. I think Benito dreamed of this moment 😂
2:25 the "pues toma torta" was pure gold jajajaj
Genial!
Me. stomach 😂😂😂😂
En un universo alterno pudo suceder y fue en éste
Bro not bad bunny blocking the kiss from the mom and professor is just to funny 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bad bunny killed it playing Kiko 😂
American audiences: "Dafuq is this?" Everyone else: "Yay!🥳" What a treat. This takes me back to my childhood.
Even people who didn't speak Spanish would stop and watch this show when it was on, it was just that mesmerizing, and much of the humor was evident even without the words. Same for Sabado G which they have done in past seasons.
Did this air live? Wouldve made better sense as a cut for time sketch that they put on RUclips after. The studio audience is like Dafuq is dis?
You’re not kidding LOL!
I'm surprised the leftists didn't get offended by latin America humor. Wait till they see the memes of El Chavo animado.
Truly! What a treat
La Chilindrina was uncannily perfect omg
Chilindrina's sweater sleeves were always twisted. Not here. 😂
@LorenIpsum75 Good observation.
She nailed it
Chilidrine 😂
No it wasn't.
Me gustó esta especie de homenaje qe le hicieron al chavo del 8,muy bueno.
This was a gift. Thanks SNL.
❤❤❤
It wasn't funny
@7carbonitewhich part was funny
@7carbonite Was it? Or was it not funny but you wanted to support it anyway?
@Brando-wc8fz yeah it was cringe, the jokes are not translated well to English but I appreciate the effort
As a Puerto Rican who grew up watching this show on the island during the 70s, 80s, and 90s, and who has lived in this country for over 25 years, I humbly admit that this sketch made me cry tears of joy. Thank you, SNL.
Same! Certainly it was a flashback to simpler times back then, us as kids, sitting in front of that TV watching Chavo & El Chapulin Colorado 😎
Me too! I watched this clip at work today with my coworkers, two of us from Mexico, one from Guatemala, and the other from El Salvador. It was such a moment!
The only thing wrong with this skit is that the professor girafales is already inside dona florindas' house, so we didn't have the iconic : "would you like a cup of coffe?" Scene 😂😂
ANOTHER CUP OF COFFEE!!??,
@mayamartinez5805FLORES OUTRA VEZ?
El profesor Jirafales es Jon Hamm???😮😮😮 Osea que una de las tantas amantes de Don Draper era doña Florinda????🤯
no sera mucha molestia
Second one: The chavo implying he has a mother. But, this could have been a prequel.
I am extremely satisfied with Bad Bunny Kiko's performance, he couldn't have done it better.
I wasn't expecting Bad Bunny's impression of Quico to be that good. He lowkey earned my respect ngl 😭💀
🙌🏽
He’s a great actor!
@YogabyNandabreadsticks?
do you want breadsticks?
I'm impressed that Bad Bunny nailed Quico's voice.
He is a better comedian than singer
For real lmao 🤣🤣🤣🤣
And the facial expressions
@Florian-yn3urdefinitely. Hopefully we'll see him do more comedy.
All of you are wrong not close
I never thought I would see a representation of Chavo Del Ocho on SNL.. 👏🏼 ❤️ thank you! 🙌🏼
El Sr. Barriga de Netflix 😂😂😂
this is a legendary show in all latin america. If you can fathom the brady bunch, happy days, taxi, threes company, different strokes, Icarly, fresh prince, married with children, rolled into one. Thats how popular this show was.
Meanwhile in mexico (country of origin) it is not that liked anymore probably because of the drama that came out like that chespirito was married when he started dating florinda who also was 20 years younger than him
@JoseM588 They're just an ignorant bunch. They're the same people who will sit down and watch narco novelas, and then complain as to why the country is so corrupt and controlled by the cartel.
@kuddlesgg the cartel thing is mostly because Americans consume too many drugs because of the lack of public health campaigns
@JoseM588 Both sides are at fault, but narco novelas and corridos are the equivalent of gangster rap and the "hood life" of the states. People glorifying these awful customs and later complaining why their countries are in such a bad state.
@kuddlesgg This is the standard nonsense conservative opinion that blames the symptons as being the cause of the problem.
0:32 it really surprised me that they literally translate Barriga instead of sticking to the adapted name of the english dub Mr. Bellyarge (And of course seeing Kenan Thompson playing him)
Mr. Tummy would have been more appropriate, imo.
@RAri-rc3toor Belly
The most funny thing to me about the skit was the translation of Sr. Barriga to Mr. Stomach xD
Fr in el chavo animado English version Señor Barriga name is Mr Baliarge
“Stomach” is an odder and funnier choice.
The way all of them cried spot on 😂😂
1:07 DON RAMÓN🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥⁉️⁉️💥💥💥💥
Let's appreciate Jon Hamm for a second as the Maestro Longaniza
My dream come true 😍
Disturbing Profesor Jirafales was inside Doña Florinda's house, hahahaha.
@silj-diaz8840 he was porking her
@silj-diaz8840maybe he was finally enjoying that coffee 😏
"Professor Linguiça" here in Brazil.
This is insane meta Universe... SNL and Chabo del Ocho.
Sarah Sherman was perfect as La chilindrina 😂
she studied hard
Crying was spot on
Chilidrine 😂
100% de acuerdo :)
Did that character also get hit with pies? Reading these comments is helping me understand this sketch. Ha!
OUT OF LEFT FIELD, SNL!
This skit was completely unexpected and incredibly well done! The entire cast was great, but that Chilindrina impression was spot on!
It was touching and hilarious and just right. Insta classic
It wasn’t. The costumes were on point but the acting was atrocious and the jokes were non-existent.
Nah Benito was the best. Sarah seemed like she was playing Dora the explorer. Chilindrina was a smart-aleck and she didn't capture that part of her character at all.
Not even a lil bit 🤣 this is literally how someone who just watched 1 episode and didn’t understand Spanish would try to explain the show to somebody else 🤣 Benito was the only one who gave the character the Respect it deserved. Clearly the only one who’s watched it and knew what it represented 🇲🇽 actually Production Nailed it too w Costumes and stage but everyone else just looked like some Randoms filming a Porn parody w that acting. 🤦🏻♂️
El chavo es eterno
I'm Brazilian, I never thought Chaves would be a parody on Saturday Night Live, that's amazing!
Same here!
@lilianavalerio7054Ellos ya saben ese detalle…
Sim, muito bom! Estou surpresa também KKKKKKKKK (sim, eu leio os comentários inglês e respondo em português)
Me too! It’s so amazing!🤩🤩🤩
Me encanta que los brasileños se emocionen como si el Chavo fuera brasileño
He’s not just putting on for Puerto Ricans. He’s putting on for the whole Latino culture.
🔥🔥🔥
yeah mainland and caribbean
Hey just FYI..PR has a lot of respect for the mexican culture.
I remember trying to get into a movie theater to watch Patrullero 777 Cantinflas or El Santo movie, if you ask, many puerto ricans agreed that Cantinflas and Roberto Gomez Bolaños were the greatest comedians and producers of all time.
And for wrestling fans, our favorites were always and will be Santo, Blue Demon and Mil Mascaras....no doubt about it...singers, soup operas and the list goes on...
El Chavo del Ocho ES 100 PERCENT MEXICAN.
@ligiacastilla9808nobody said it wasn’t
Honestly, this was so perfect. It brought back so many memories and they hit every emotional beat. It was just so special. People don't even realize it.
Such good memories watching this! As an English teacher today, I can say it was absolutely funny and heart-warming. Brazilians have warm hearts.
A sweet message from SNL to their Latino audience.
A big hug from Brazil, Chaves is an example of humor, innocence and quality, thank you very much for the tribute.
humm not quality, but the rest is ok lol
💚🇧🇷🇲🇽💚
@fnonaka you dont understand, you understand me ? i am from brasl, chaves is hilarius, and throut season the humor start to intengence, like mr bean and charlie charplin you gringo but is humble and delicated like bible, my english is bad sorry, thank you my frend
@fnonaka what are you even saying? This show is almost 50 years old and very famous in latin america, just go away.
And… really abusing each other.
It’s kinda like the three stooges, lots of hitting, and lying.
I hope they don’t do Henrichito!!!
Omg all the characters were spot on!😂😂😂
Genial el sketch muy bueno
Brasil is sleeping rn but once they wake up and see this they are going to freak out!
El Chavo was from Mexico
But nobody loves El Chavo del Ocho as much as the Brazilians.
@TheRedPandaWhaltherno, they’re not the ones that love him the most. It’s Mexicans, the show was plastered everywhere in Mexico and it was known to actually minimize traffic in Mexico City because of how many people would stop what they’re doing to watch the latest episode
@PuNlisher
El Chavo’s UNIVERSAL!
@BolitaDeKetica yes! el chavo is from mexico but has a latino soul! All of latin america grew up with el chavo 🔥
I’m brazilian, seeing this skit makes me laugh as well as watching the original TV program, it’s basically the same jokes but in a third language
Benito’s Quico is spot in with the names and the mami manita 😂😂
This show always got me cracking up, my dad used to play this show when I was a kid all the time 😂😊❤
3:24 the impersonation of the cries actually brought me to tears. Who knew bad bunny would be our lead runner to play quico in a chavo reboot
Omg ME TOO!!!! At the exact moment Marcelo did the Chavo cry my eyes welded up 😢❤ This was beautiful!!! Thanks to Benito for always dropping gems to the culture! ❤😊❤
I can guarantee he watched every episode multiple times.
As a mexican this whole thing was cringe and it was not funny. At this rate SNL just need to copy youtubers for their sketches.
Same here lol 😂 this is amazing
I can imagine Benito and Marcello excitedly trying to explain the gimmicks to everyone 😂
Casting for this sketch is peak
Señor estómago jajaja
These guys did their homework and Bad Bunny NAILED IT as Quico,10/10
But the pain infliction is 1/3 correct. It’s Bop on head, kick at the bun, and pinch at the shoulder.
My OCD and love of the show cannot accept it!
The fact that bad bunny put this in snl is legendary. Crazy
Chavo saying: "My mother always says...". Only in SNL.
Real chavo is an orphan and never mentioned his family.
Right? Like they were doing so well until they missed the most important key of the lore. El Chavo is homeless. Though in an episode or two, he denies that and says he lives in apartment 8. Hence the name. But yeah.
Was used like a prank
@charlescamara3062 cause they dint get the point and essence of the original show, lame
@charlescamara3062 I don't think so. Even knowing it is supposed to be a clumsy parody, Quico was the only one with a decent impersonation. All the SNL crew felt kinda cringe
yeah, i couldn’t believe they said that. 🤦🏻♀️
I Love El Chavo
Benito killed it with Kiko lol 😂
I think of all the confused güeros who have never seen El Chavo in their lives. 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I have one next to me…..he laughed 😂😂😂
literally they must be like wtf😭😭
I was just thinking this 😂 I immersed myself in the Spanish speaking world when I started learning the language many years ago, so I've seen some episodes but I don't think anyone else in my life would have any clue what this is lol
That's so funny!! 😂😂😂😂
Damn how did SNL get all the right clothing for all the cast members? That's epic also Chavo del 8 in HD that's incredible. Also Mr Stomach. Hahaha 😅😅
the power of a crew of seamstress!
@pdusaincI guess the question was more on the rights to use all these characters and their likeness, because to this day, the estate of "Chespirito" is a very contested one with legal battles and stuff... 😮
@djoscartjI guess this falls into the "parody" category, which makes it lighter in terms of rights
Mexican laws don't apply to USA. We can get make a lot of parodies.
@Idkidkwhattoput-w9cI think copyright is pretty international...then again, I also think they might have gotten permission from Chespirito's estate.
Eu vivi para ver isto. Melhor que o original. 😂
