I love this production! I think it was casted perfectly, and I love how an ensemble was included! All the leads were really into their characters and the ensemble had tons of energy.
With me being in a show of Spelling Bee right now,(which has somehow not been discontinued given the circumstances) I may say I think this is one of the best versions of the show out there. What I do not much like about this version however is the overcrowded ensemble. It is not that the ensemble is bad. In fact, the ensemble in this show is the best thing about it. However, I feel like the ensemble did not really do much. I do not think it is the fault of the ensemble. The show is written in a way where there should ot even be in an ensemble in the first place. I feel like they should of given the ensemble some extra lines and maybe some solos. That is just my opinion. In case anyone is curious, I am in a show of Spelling Bee with an ensemble and I am happily playing Leaf's Mom. Also in our show, we have made some extra lines for the ensemble and a few solos to them.
Agreed. It's a Spelling Bee - and there's another random 30 people onstage not spelling. I was mad on Chip's behalf when ensemble push him out of the way at the end of Pandemonium so they could do a pile-on. Like - your random pile isn't more important than ending his solo. Stop.
This was the first Spelling Bee I saw that used the alternative version of “Chip’s Lament” I have to say I like my unfortunate distraction better despite it being less funny than the more risqué version
i will admit i like the performance of mr panch. i think the esemble and extra characters are very....ehh? its distracting. the humor is lowered. and though i love logainne, her voice is a little overexaggerated.
it’s in the script, and my theory is that it’s because she is a huge activist, and i think it’s a sign of inclusivity of some sort, could be something else though!
might be me, but the actor for barf seems a little lanky and tall for the character. maybe thats just me. but i like leaf so far! maybe im just picky about barf because hes my fav
I don't really like the the barfae in this production, he has an okay voice, but his acting wasnt that great. And some songs seemed to be going slightly too fast.
You obviously haven’t been exposed to characterization. You can very much tell that underneath her character voice she has talent, but it’s an acting choice and it wasn’t even that bad. So leave the actress alone, and if you can sing better, please contact me proof😘
Ahhh I got chills, especially in Second! Honestly I like this Barfee much better than the OBC.
Also at 4:23 is Logainne doing sign language? She signs out the phrase she's singing and I find that so cool

thanks!
I totally agree!!❤️🎭
I always choke up when Panch gives Olive the $25

The guy who plays Panch in this is amazing, everyone else is great too, but he just has a stand out performance.
Thank You!
The Mitch Barfée Panch and leaf stole the show by far love this well done
This is so amazing! My favorite was the I Love You Song, so amazing and so well sang.
Thank You!!
her take on mitch is so unique i dig it. magic foot also works so well as a tap number
This is the best barfee so far.
I think the whole production was pretty damn awesome......loved Leaf, Doug especially!
Your Mitch is GENIUS
I love how they worked the ensemble into this! Great production.
Barfee sounds like John Mulaney sometimes, I love it. Its hilarious
SOOO easy to understand EVERYONE!!! and on pitch!
The guy who plays barfee is awesome 😁😁😊😊💛💛
is no one goign to talk about Mitch Mahomey's voice omg she killed it
This was by far the best Panche I've seen
i wasnt the biggest fan of the host lady, but i bet she has had much improvment since this was filmed.
I cannot get over how great this is - this is my 4th time watching.
I dont really like what they did with mitch Mahoney and the background dancers. But other than that it was a really performance
i personally thought the ensemble was a bit distracting and i’m not a big fan of them

I NEED Barfe and Olive to be a couple when they grow up - this was a grrrrrreat production!!!
That poor guy in My Friend the Dictionary lol
Oh yeah the one dressed up like a toilet

It might be because the extra characters are random people that were pulled from the audience

They aren’t talking about the audience volunteers.
quick question, why was Logainne signing in the opening??
i saw that in a couple other bootlegs. i didn’t why she was using ASL but is there a reason

Yeah he was different but still good
I guess they do not have any soprano ones?
This production is such a great example of using ensemble. But let me tell you... those audience members stressed me out!

Alina G i love you
The Schwartzy in this musical doesn't have the right kind of lisp
I like her take on it though
WOoooW!
...
Logainne's voice is awful
