Thanks for answering our questions! Keep it going. My worst dinner party- Thanksgiving. I did the entire thing from scratch. One family member got hammered before dinner - picked a fight with other family members BEFORE DINNER. Everyone left but the instigator who was a houseguest. Instigator was the only person who ate the dinner. Best dinner party - It was immediate family on a ranch in Texas - 4 people. Card table - no linens on the table. Smoked Chicken, green beans and potatoes - lots of wine. Eating under the stars, sharing stories, enjoying each other -EPIC.
FHB is giving me life!!!! 😂😂 amd I shall use that in future. wish I had submitted a question, but with you since the beginning Randy and I've learned so much. Thanks to you and your team for being amazing. Looking forward to more videos.
Thank you for answering my question, Randy! Your contribution to our lives is magical. Hosting a guest this weekend and keeping the DPT team in my back pocket 🎉 Thank you everyone
Randy this was a genuinely brilliant event that you nailed. Yes, you should absolutely do this again as it's a very effective way for you to interact with your followers as well as giving them a sense of the community they're in. And equally significant your casual comments connect with people in wonderfully weird ways: While you seemingly HATE unloading your dishwasher, I have long found it to be a great experience that I take particular satisfaction in!
This was so much fun and many thoughtful lovely responses from you, which is no surprise. A friend and I used to hold salons at our house. Not the same as yours. We'd make all the food (both of us with backgrounds in cooking) and we'd invite a crazy mix of about ten people. People really wanted to attend and we had just a few guidelines to make them work. One was no getting smashed and organizing an exodus to the bar. You could get smashed but not AND the other. We usually had a curated list of discussion points - such as what is with the Brits and lack of central heating. (my pal was a Brit) or could the unrequited among us create a workable class action suit? The only other thing we asked (this was the 90s) was not to discuss Madonna at any time. I guess we were pretty bossy broads but somehow these evenings were wildly popular. As to the kind of salons your dad hosted we call them house concerts but money is always collected for the artists. Love you Randi ! Keep it happening.
Hello Randy, I just recently discovered your channel because I am hosting our monthly Supper Club on Monday, September 23, 2024 & wanted some guidance on tablesettings. Our theme is "The Golden Age of America: The 1950's" cause I was born in September 1956 (yes, I am that old ). I too feel like I am cooking with a friend when watching you Please keep sharing. I have subscribed & depend on your channel for entertainment, education, etc You make me laugh 😂❤
@randysharp6065 No problem. I already had invited a guest for the September one & probably won't be hosting again till next spring. Thanks, we did have a fun time. I can only imagine how busy you must be. Would you ever consider coming to one of ours? We are in Stamford Ct.
Rude guests, yes, that's when you find out which friends have a drinking problem. (Or if it's yourself, -- which is why my dinner party days dwindled. LOL.) I have found that guests appreciate comfort foods like a hardy roast or a stew rather than exquisite gourmet. If you want to show off your chops, make an interesting appetizer or show=stopper dessert where you can take your time preparing it in advance. And use the good china no matter what you make. Love your I-like-liver story. When I was a kid, my Dad would say we're having steak for dinner only to find he tricked us into liver-- and I cried and cried.
Randy, thank you for answering my question! I attended The French Culinary Institute from 2001 to 2002. What a life changing experience, including witnessing 9/11 ❤️🩹. I hope you had the chance to dine at the school’s restaurant, Le Ecole, before it and the school closed. Memories…❤🇫🇷♥️🇺🇸♥️ PS…My dream is to cook with you, my fellow Manhattanite, one day 🙏🏽
Hi Randy, nice to see you again xx 😘🌹🌹🌹😘😘

Question: ideas for non-alcoholic dinner party? Fun mocktails? Sparkling flavored waters with a couple of
Garnishes? A special iced tea?
