OMG Pauline, this was the best I have ever heard this explained. You broke it down so well. I am so grateful. Thank you! I know I am 2 years late but I hope I can catch another of your explanations.
This was incredibly helpful!! I just started my first class to get my BCBA certification and I was so confused between the two. This helped me completely understand it - thank you!!
Much appreciation🙏🏾. I'm new to ABA, and I was having the hardest time differentiating the two and their concepts. Thank you for clarifying them and giving everyday examples.
This was very helpful! I’m studying for my BCBA exam and was struggling with stimulus and response classes on mock questions. This definitely helped everything click! ☺️
This video was incredibly helpful. I am in the first class of my program and I could not understand stimulus class. This video has made it very clear. Thank you!
I think I understand, but now I have a question and tell me if I'm wrong. I just got a new job (the job is the stimulus), and it has evoked my behavior of nervousness. Which has caused or evoked my two responses, escaping, so being late for work. Or chewing gum which is something tangible. Am I right or did I miss something?
Yes, your job can be a stimulus that evokes all the things (responses) you do that would make you late...the function or reason for those behaviors is Escape!!! You got it!!!
Use of a plastic flyswatter or electric flyswatter to kill a fly. Flyswatter and electri flyswatter are they stimulus class? If a tennis ball is coming over, i hit it with a racket or i hit it with a bat, are using a racket or bat response class?? im kind of confuse..
Yes plastic and electric fly swatter are objects (nouns) that can be used the same way….making them a stimulus class..you could add a shoe, rolled up paper etc they all can be used for the same purpose
Just think of a group of things or a class of things that have a lot in common....it can be anything (functionality: thing used for cooking-stimulus class: oven, grill, and microwave). Try thinking of an example and sharing it with us.
