- 12 snares set, 3 snares connected and two rabbits saved. First breakage on the 6 strand picture cord wire. Nice to be able to travel the land on the Tundra Ski-doo. A pair of rabbits for an elder.
Great Charlie. You are doing ok with the rabbits. Git to love it. Thanks
Thanks 👍
Great too you using the tundra again and great video sir!!
thanks
Great job on the rabbits brother! Thank you for sharing!!
Thanks for watching my buddy.
Great video as always. I have 3 tradtional pen sets made and 1 collapsible pen set out. I left them out for a night baited with birch tips and crab apples and the next day they were all cleaned out. After putting the snares in place, i got 2 the first day, which was yesterday and a bunch of snares slipped this morning and the bait cleaned out again. They seem to go crazy over crab apples. Lot of snow coming today but I baited them again anyway. You never know. Keep the great videos coming.
Well next fall I know what I'm doing, going to be collecting some crab apples. Congrats on the rabbits and the portable pens are going out tomorrow.
I would certainly recommend trying crab apples. The before and after pictures I have says it all. Cheers
Another great video! Congrats on the rabbits.
Thank you!
Great video Charlie , nice rabbits . Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Nice garden setup buddy. Good luck with the rest of the season.
Thanks, you too!
Glad to the Ski-doo out on the trail, nice looking rabbits.
I'm so happy to be running the back country with the tundra, takes me back to my childhood.
Great Charlie. You never fail to get a feed ! Best of luck on the next video.
Thanks, you too!
A couple nice rabbits there Charlie. you got lots of snow we are getting some now might get a ride on skidoo. take care
I hope you get the amount of snow you need for a great winter. If we get a big mild we are shagged here, but we have enough snow to get out and enjoy the back country.
Yes Yes I do know the spot buddy.... good luck...!!!
haha, cheers bud
Congrats another couple for the pot , good going there now on the Tundra
oh yes Garry the trail is getting better and better every day.
I remember when I was about 12-13 years old my brother and I setting snares in central Nf, Checking them one day we found one hind leg of a Rabbit in the snare. A week later we caught the rest of him, Three legged rabbit, apparently he pulled his own leg out of his body. Never seen that again, And I caught rabbits all my life, Even many years living in the Northwest Territories. Up north you had to check your snares everyday or wolves, and lynx mostly would take them.
That was one tough rabbit...
Nice brace of bunnies.
thanks
Nice big rabbits!!
thanks, they will be going to someone who really needs them
A geat haul of rabbits for a meal Charlie.
nice to catch a few bunnies
A few rabbits on the go!
yes but I'm travelling a long ways in-between
Indeed
Charlie.Where did you purchase your helmet? Enjoy all your vids👍🏻
My wife got it on amazon $32 dollars super light.
Going to be some good eating there Charlie. Later buddy.
Yes Barry and they are going to a wonderful fellow who health has been poor lately.
What snare wire gauge do you prefer? 20g brass or 22g? I’ve been experimenting with 20g and I’ve had some close up but no rabbit I’ve been thinking is 20g too thick and hard for them to close?
Here in Newfoundland we have to use 22g but I would love to use 20g, if you load your snares the wire will close on its own.
If you don’t mind me asking what kind of bait do you use for your pens I use birch.
birch for me as well
Well Charlie, you're keeping the pot going. Why aren't you using those pen sets you made? They are the cat's meow.
They are going out tomorrow, After I made that traditional pen I was thinking, nothing compares to those portable pens for speed and ease.
Knowing how things work in the business world, some entrpeneur might get the idea to patent those pen sets & make a few bucks on them. Stranger things have happened. I'm putting a few out as soon as things settle down. We've got a foot of fresh powder today. @@NLGhostWolf
I got to get out man o man
yes, I'm putting out the portable pens today but waiting until noon, -25 here this morning.
