That is not correct. You stated that Fred West murdered Charmaine. Rose murdered Charmaine after minths of torture whilst fred was in prison.

Poorly researched. Rose murdered Charmaine, not Fred. One minute you say that Barry was their first child, then you say Heather was, which is correct. Who approved this for broadcast without fact checking?
odd thing is, this was going on for years, many years, and no-one noticed. So how many things like this do we see every day, but do not take notice of? until something bad happens?

It's also pretty rare. But even one incident is too much.
While people might not have known about the murders, the physical abuse was an open secret. One school reported it after seeing the injuries on Anne Marie, but social services and the justice system did nothing except cause Ann Marie to get another severe beating. The schools should have reported the absence of Charmaine and Heather, but, sadly, in those days few cared about missing kids or child abuse. The "men" that used Anne Marie must have seen the full extent of the scars and injuries, but, being paedophiles, of course did nothing. These kids were knowingly abandoned by all adults in society that chose to look the other way, including their relatives, social services, the justice system and medics.
It's called two tier policing apparently.
I heard a tale, Fred was working on some construction up in Haltwhistle. He was in the pub when a police car turned up, he saw them arrive and legged it over the fields… people were perplexed, now we know why

I’ve read Love as always Mum as well. Both fascinating reads. So many lives turned upside down 😢
I remember reading a book about this in the late 90s written by the two eldest surviving children. It was such a horrifying read I had to throw it out afterwards, I couldn't bear to have it in my home..😢 I remember their perspective hitting hard; they just came home from school one day to their house swarming with police, the garden being dug up and learning that their parents were actually serial killers. How in the world do you cope with that..?😢
Why does he say Fred and Rose had their first child, Barry together in 1980. Then goes on to say all of thier children were born in the 70s? Doesnt make sense.

Rose killed Charmaine, not Fred, he was in prison - that's how they proved she was part of it.
Charmaine's now infamous school photograph, and forensic dentistry, proved beyond doubt that Fred was indeed inside when the death occurred. It was Rose.

It was stated that Rose murdered Charmaine whilst Fred was serving time in prison, also just wanted to mention, that the writers of the show Gavin and Stacey was based alot on the Wests, Stacey West lived in Barry Island, Nessa was into S&M as was Rose, and Nessa lived in a caravan with Dave, which is also what Fred lived in with Rena, Smithy worked in building & construction as did Fred, Gavins friend Fingers was named because of the victims missing finger bones (along with knee caps which were never found). Also used Peter Suttcliff, (friend of Gavins parents) and Harold Shipman as in Gavin Shipman, in the series. Also Dawn Suttcliffe in the series calls Nessa a 'truck driving dike' and it was also something Rose was into gay sex. Also Nessa claims in the Christmas episode when dressed as Santa Claus 'I'm not on the register, I've been checked' meaning pedophile register. There is a lot to be said of that series, but someone definitely did their research, more than this guy :)

I hope he chooses the latter. (And I pray he has learned about appropriate sexual boundaries, as he clearly wasn’t taught correctly and was being groomed into psychopathy from his birth. But now he’s an adult. Now he can choose for himself. With God’s unabounding grace, may he choose better than what he was taught.)
@@chilltartsI know about trauma and it's effects very well. It's completely unreasonable for people to think he would realise he is damaged by his past in a flash! It's a lifelong process believe me. Also a counsellor is not magician. These things run very deep and r not magicked away. I wish all the west children healing as you do. I think we should be realistic though.

I hope their children have been able to move on, though that is so traumatic that it will never go away. This was a horrible case and to do that to so many girls was sick. Fred unalived himself, and Rose has several partners in prison, including a kick boxer allegedly. The death penalty should be bought back for many crimes.

I was born in 1971 in Gloucester a year younger than Heather - I use to play with her on or near a doused railway line near the park in Gloucester back in late 70s a street not far fm St Paul’s and she use to come over and play around and near my house. She was an astute, almost angelic sweet girl with a savvyness thinking back to her now for her age seem v mature and never showed a sign about what was going on at home but I still recall even as a child that when she had to go home there was almost a fear if I recall about disobeying her parents. I also came across rose west walking down nr the park once.. I was about 9 or 10 yrs old… I will never forget Heather RIP xx it was almost a normal childhood when we played together on that street for her. I joined the military years later and found out whilst overseas she had been murdered at 16 and a tear came to my eyes.. if only we knew what destiny befalls us. I would have topped those two demonic bastards who did this. RIP Heather.
