Dali!
I live in New York now too. I think after carefully watching this video that Dalida felt somewhat skeptical about New York, that European type of skepticism, if you know what I mean (the grandiosity of buildings that does not necessarily mean too much freedom and does not make it convenient to look at them). As a complex woman she probably felt that this unnecessary excessive grandiosity did not translate itself into complexity and was not therefore appealing to her.
I have found the name of that song. It is called "Love in Portofino" and can be heard in a medley on track 16 on her CD entitled "Dalida - Les Années Disco" (Barclay 983 757-7)
The only thing is that the song "Born to sing" ("Mourir sur scene") was released in 1987 so it is a little bit strange to hear it in the video about the performance in 1978...
I was there and an evening I will never forget !
Merci Dalida
VOLKER VOEGE you're super lucky
The greatest LOSS America ever experienced was NOT knowing Dalida! What a shame!
