- Sony PlayStation has entered the 2026 chat with an upcoming State of Play set for February 2026. With a roughly hour-long runtime, Sony is poised to showcase a ton of new PlayStation 5 games slated to release in 2026 and Beyond! While Sony have not teased or released any information about games that will be in the spotlight during the State of Play, you can guess that games like Ghost of Yotei Legends will make an appearance alongside some updates for the PSVR 2 (fingers crossed for a VR mode in Resident Evil Requiem). Considering Rockstar and Sony have always played closely together around flagship Rockstar launches, it's not out of the realm of possibility that we get another look at GTA 6 ahead of it's launch later this year. One can only hope. Tune in to IGN on Thursday February 12th at 2pm PT | 5pm ET and stick around after the show for expert discussions and opinions from IGN's Beyond podcast crew.

9/10 for me - finally a State of Play that didn’t suck.
I’d have liked to see Wolverine and more Intergalactic, and honestly I’d have preferred an Atreus‑led God of War game over what we got. It was also strange not seeing Hunters Rising, Forza, or Fable. You’d think it would be in Microsoft’s best interest to let Sony show a quick trailer for Fable or Forza, because not every PlayStation player watches Xbox showcases.
I don’t care about Ghost of Yotei Legends - give us more single‑player levels.
Bond, Resident Evil, and Control all looked great with the new footage. Kena looks cool too, even though I still haven’t finished the first one.
But the show‑stealers for me were John Wick and, finally, MGS4 escaping the PS3 prison after 15+ years. Silent Hill was pretty solid as well.
Returnal 2, aka Saros, I just played Returnal last year for the first time, and it was great. Unique gameplay, tough and fun . It's the only roguelike I played. I ran it on a 3080 but with a 12400, so I was experiencing drops at native 1440. Now I've got a 7800X3D monster, so I might play it again, way more stable. I'm getting Saros for the effects; it's so creative with the weapons, lighting , and shadows-also very good. I liked Returnal a lot. Finally , the God of War remake is coming. People have been wanting a trilogy remae for years since the ps4 era,Lately, I've been on the first game with the graphics mod, and it looks great in 8K with it,We still need "Gow Ascension," one of the most epic games of all time, to be remade also,I never played Stranding but gotta play both. I read they're classic . Kena looks cute; I never played that, so I might play both . That game with the cute sidekick girl as a bodyguard-I know it's gonna be deep . It seems like Ico, a very unique classic PS2 game where you have to guard a girl. Pragmata looks like a future version. Yup, I'm getting that . I'm getting that too, but in the meantime, I've been on Revelations with the graphics mod and then playing the second one with the GRSIVX mod, both at 1440, 200 fps. Kain remaster-getting that classic game, but it's more like a remake. A simple remaster doesn 't look that good as the OG from an era that old . Control 1 was deep and fun; I played on PS4, so gotta play that again, running at 230 with stable fps on PC 1440 . Soulslike-a way more advanced Steelrising, which has the deepest story I've ever seen from a soulslike, and it was very fast and unique . I'm definitely checking out Beast; Wick could be an underrated classic like Stronghold. That game has amazing graphics for the time, and the gameplay is great. It looks like a combo of that and Sleeping Dogs. I'm checking that Wick out.
