Paru never finished Jack's Dog take over conspiracy, never finished development on any of Legosi's classmates or apartment neighbors, completely forgot about Ogma, Rokume (the snake with the hat) as well as Kyuu and San (Loius's slaughterhouse friends), Introduced the chimera ability but didn't even use it, never continued with the random character world building (the chicken, lesbian jackel etc.), never confirmed nor denied if Melon was dead or alive or in custody, AND NO ONE BECAME OR WAS HINTED AT BECOMING THE NEXT BEASTAR!!!! YAHYA RETIRED AND IS A VIGILANTE BUT THERE IS NO BEASTAR ANYMORE!!! WHO IS HIS REPLACEMENT? I swear they better change shit for the anime!

For Melon he’s alive but in a jail cell I believe. He was reading fan letters or something 😂😂 but yeah that was more stuff you mentioned that never got more development. I would hope they change some stuff for the Anime but they didn’t really change that much for season 1 so I wouldn’t think they would for season 2 and so forth.

@@sawyersabol2245 the author also said there would be more short 1-offs stories called Beast Complex. she might expand upon those side characters stories to give them a more appropriate conclusion. so the main series may be over but Paru is still adding to the World of Beastars. There are a lot of side characters that just get a one chapter spotlight, i don't think there's anything with only getting that from them, same for the classmates and neighbours. The way i think about it is how well do you know every classmate, co worker or neighbour? I think what was fine, i actually really like that there are this one and done stories about random characters. What do you mean about forgetting Ogma? He got a decent spotlight and died. I do agree that Kyu went nowhere, same with the chimeras, but i don't mind it that much since i wasn't a big fan of either. And i also thought it was weird that nothing was mentioned about the next Beastar. Paru should have adressed that.

@@dantecrottogini529 They stopped the one of chapters right when Melon came in. Why have one offs when they never appear after a certain amount of time? Now the neighbors and other students I guess weren't bad but I wished that they had more importance, different strokes different folks. Oguma, Im sorry I forgot that he died. Jack's conspiracy however I thought was the biggest disapointment. IDK I thought that it could have been a really great plot point and even an arc after melon but then the series ended. I hope the anime fixes these bad seeds.

Thank you for saying it ! I have been reading Beastars since the beginning of the manga and this ending hurts me... Sadly, it is not the first time a manga do that, far from it. It's one of the biggest problem with manga : the editors.
The first arc of Beastars was really unique and mature for a manga (sexuality treated seriously and not for fan service for exemple) but because of that, it became popular and the editors pushed the author to produce more and more chapters without a clear idea of where it would lead. The relationship between Haru and Legosi take a huge step back after the first arc so that the manga could continue...
The editors are the one who push the authors to produce more chapters, influence the story and it's tone, and also decide when the manga end, so the creativity and artistic aspect of the story is always affected... badly...
Because editors are here for one reason in the manga industry : money !
This ending suck... It's not impactull, it's generic (i have seen the exact same type of ending, with box to tell us what became every characters in the manga soooooooooooo many time !) and it's clearly not what the author wanted for his manga.
    BEASTARS deserved better.

I disagree, Legoshi and Haru taking a back seat is consistent with the themes these characters want to overcome. The final threat embodies the future him and Haru may potentially have and leading up to it, we constantly get beat over the head with how a carniherbi relationship is near impossible to obtain. Plus Haru is in college while Legoshi is a dropout with a criminal tag, he had to figure out his life himself before he even thinks of being super close to Haru. Louis's and Juno's ending was literally perfect. Obviously we want them to be together but that would not make ANY sense in terms of the story OR for Louis's character. I was so ecstatic that they didn't get together while reading their last chapter together. It was beautiful and created a very bittersweet ending with Juno's character really ending on a high note, finally ready to move on from her seniors she had crushes on. They also had no where near enough time to be an actuall satisfactory relationship that was developed. Louis couldn't be with Haru for the same reason he couldn't be with Juno. Knowing what happens to his dad to would be a major kick in his face if he decided to ditch his destiny that he has finally come to terms with for the betterment of society. The last chapter was good too imo. This is more subjective but the parallels between Legoshi and Haru's first meeting with the last chapter is lovely. They are at a point where they can talk with each others as equals and live with the potential struggles of being a carniherbi relationship. It wrapped up the others stories nicely and was a nice send off to the manga. YES, the ending was "disappointing" but not bad by any means. It is only disappointing since it felt like they dropped some ideas, or didn't flesh out a few things. Beastars has been hella consistent up until literally the last 20-30 chapters, the entire climax of the final arc (everything before was still great and narratively consistent). I wish it either went longer to flesh out some stuff or rather, have better direction with the final arc to conclude the things it should have rather than developing half baked ideas. I don't understand why people think Beastars as a concept wasn't properly explored when literally it is a concept that Louis and Legoshi embodied by the time the last arc was out. It is a title that is meant to change society but average, normal, people became the perfect example of what a Beastar should be without actually becoming it. That is beautiful in itself as storytelling since we were always watching the Beastars, not in name, but through actions. I don't understand why people think it was a bad ending. It only became inconsistent in those last or so chapters but the final 4 chapters brought it back up.

I agree the ending is pitiful. Melon gets off scot free with killing people. I mean he gets fan mail for crying out loud while in prison. Louis and Juno not being together makes sense in a societal context. Louis has already done something controversial with declaring that carnivores need to eat meat. Last thing he needs to be doing is adding fuel to the fire, and it makes since as a political advantage for him and deer girl to be together financially. Overall, I feel like as you said it was as if Paru was trying to go against expectations simply for the sake of doing so.

He was following the system he hated and when Haru was kidnapped, and that terrible lecture from the lion mayor and memory of his father’s, he decided to go against the norm and help Legosi. Then he went on a journey to understand carnivores with his gang, and how he was only running away from his weakness only to be set free by sacrificing his leg. To the end, he realized he had to announce the black market because that was societies weakness and it only damaged more than help society, which he learned from his own growth. To end up being with that deer, the old machine that he was fighting against, it just doesn’t make sense. The misdirection where Legoshi wakes up and instead of Haru being there it’s ‘blood’, Jack holding a bag of onions that say they’re dangerous to dogs and looking gloomy hinting he might off himself and Legoshi using deer blood from Louis. These felt like very lazy and insulting ways to get you to keep reading. They’re all played off for jokes and it’s annoying cause it could be some really interesting stuff. Obviously don’t kill Louis or Haru off screen but don’t fake out in such a way.

Like I loved beastars but everything after they solved that began going downhill with the whole hybrids and just well yeah.. I enjoyed the ride sure but that rushed ending and lack of a bunch of characters resolutions and stuff really killed it. I think the only thing that didnt bother me completely was Louis ending with the other chick, like of course we all wanted him to hook up with Juno, but in the end you can kinda see him willing to make something out of it? When he asked the deer chick on a regular date to a museum and even tho she mentioned it didnt have anything to do with the company, she still found it a rather decent idea. Idk again it all sucked in general but i feel that was the most "complete" thing out of all the other characters they even bother showing us.

Juno and Louis randomly broke up, a lot of side plots were not resolved like with Jack talking about the conspiracy, no one became the next bestar and some stuff introduced at the end like mellons dad being alive this whole time was underwhelming. I respect all things said on this video, but though i am disappointed with the ending, i think its ok that the world didn't suddenly change after the Melon arc. Why am i ok with it is because that part(i repeat, only that part) of the ending feels natural and realistic. Beastars didn't sugarcoat its story. Change is slow, it won't happen in an instant. But, change really did happen. Back alley market got demolished and Louise and Legosi did left a good impact in the world. Melon was arrested, ofcourse. It was shown with last chapter with those letters. The 2 didn't become Beastars but it doesn't matter. What really matters is the meaning of the title and the 2 protagonist embodying its essence, regardless of them being OFFICIALLY Beastars or not. I think i have no problem with the idea of the Beastars ending, though i wish Paru Itagaki allotted atleast 2 more chapters to elaborate all the ramifications of what Legosi and Louise accomplished.
Though my biggest hardest disappointment? Bullshit on how Paru left it in the Air whether Legosi and Haru get married! No! Me wolf boy deserve his RABBET WIFE! Her Feelings with Haru is the thing that Started this Series, it should have Ended with a COMPLETE CONCLUSION OF IT!

The character conclusions where top tier (yes even Eren, some people seem to think his character was ruined but it was made better). The themes where still kept and while the ending was disappointing, there was no bad writing involved. Isayama didn’t do what happened to Beastars, where their weren’t even conclusions to some characters, and everything ended very abruptly. He just made an ending that he saw fit for the narrative which you can’t really say is bad because if the writing fits the narrative, then it’s good writing.

I still want to know what happened to Melon. I know he's in prison, probably for the rest of his life. But did he ever find out about his father? Because man, if he knew his Papa hadn't actually been eaten by his Mama, that would utterly destroy his entire worldview. Plus, I don't think his body is done changing, he's only going to get stronger and more unstable. He's an extremely intelligent psychopath who successfully posed as a therapist, so there's really no chance of rehabilitation. 🍈✌
