Thank you for preserving and sharing this music and Great Spiritual Treasure of this People expressing their Faith in Jesus Christ and worshipping Him in the midst of tremendous persecution, Precious and Priceless History of a noble people!!!!
I believe this arrangement of the song was done by Ralph Goodpasteur of First Church of Deliverance. The First Church choir sang it the Sunday after Rev. Cobbs died on their radio broadcast. Rev. Woods and First Church were very close. However, Christian Tabernacle has made this song their own with the soloists, and improvisations at the end. I was driving into Chicago one Sunday afternoon, I believe in the '90s, and heard this song on the Christian Tabernacle broadcast, wishing I had gotten to Chicago early enough to have attended the service. This is Christian Tabernacle at their very best. Rev. Woods is still ministering and Doris Sykes is still singing from what I have heard.
Lucie E. Campbell is actually the name of the lady who wrote the words & music to this very powerful song. Of course she would have made us not play it like this (according to what I'm told). I personally like this rendition and most of us (singers/musicians) sing & play it like this. Our churches need to re-embrace these songs. They have much power.

I like this choir rendition. This is a powerful hymn! I've seen churches go "up" on this song.
Rest in Heaven Pastor Woods.
A True classic

Doris Sykes was an exceptional Lyric Coloratura Soprano Soloist!!!

Lucy may Campbell wrote this song, but Margaret Allison and the angelics made this song a hit in 1947 and sung this song for over 60 years.
Don't know how this one got by me. I thought I had all their albums.
