- Our Channel is focused on LIVE Plane Spotting from Manchester International Airport, UK. Live streaming from the Runway Visitor Park, Manchester Airport. Currently using dual runway ops at MAN, catching airplanes taking off and landing on two separate runways. The second busiest of the airports in the UK behind London Heathrow (LHR). We livestream the aviation live action multiple times a week, our usual schedule is:

Insane, these jet engines are unbelievably powerful to create a lift for such a massive weight.
@nicholas nicholas yes, but without the engines pushing forward it won't fly
The engines dont create lift. They generate thrust. The wings provide lift force
the engines don't create lift thats the wing's job the engines generate thrust
Those wings are actually too powerful for this plane, they were designed with a longer version of the plane in mind which was later canned.

That was loud alright. What a stunning feat of engineering it is.
Actually, it is not THAT loud. These engines are RR Trent XWB, and their design is to provide high-pitched noise. To me the spooling up for takeoff is almost like music.

So much appreciation towards the pilot and staff. These airplanes are incredible and thank you for caring about safety. I never want to take any of these people for granted. Life is too short and all that metal can come crashing down if there is one minor detail not attended to. Much appreciation!

The A380 is so massive it requires 8 captains working simultaneously just to take off. Each engine requires its own captain to work the extreme hydraulic thrusters (4 captains) plus two captains at the main controls plus an additional two captains as extreme backup. Total 8 captains. There are also 4 navigators to help guide the plane assisted by 3 supercomputers. The cabin crew is comprised of 34 flight attendants, 4 concierges and 8 award winning gourmet chefs. That is the most incredible airplane ever!!!!

Beautiful beyond words ..what a magnificent beast
The plane uses its engines to speed up on the runway, which makes the air flow super fast over its wings. These wings have a special shape that pushes the air down and creates an upward force to lift the plane into the air. As the plane speeds up, this lift becomes strong enough to make the plane rise off the ground. Oh, and those small parts moving on the wings. They're called flaps, and they extend during takeoff to help increase lift when the plane isn't going very fast yet. Once the plane has enough lift, up it goes into the sky.
Your partially correct. The wing does not push the air down. The wing is shaped so the air above the wing moves faster. This creates a pressure difference above and below the wing, which creates lift. The flaps are there to increase wing surface to generate even more lift.
I take this airline whenever I have to travel international. But it’s my first time seeing it from outside. Amazing!

Exactly! This is the first planeengine where spooling up on the runway almost sounds like music! High pitched noise instead of the low bass noise you frequently hear on smaller planes.

Its not a miracle or even close to it. The bigger the plane, you will just need bigger wings and stronger thrust. Nothing physics defying here.
