I love Tegan and Sara's older stuff as well as Hearthrob - it's a fantastic album.
Silly to see them referred to as "sellouts" - they've stayed true to themselves in every way imaginable. Their latest album appeals to a more mainstream audience - so what? It's great that more people are discovering these two talented women, and now they'll have more opportunities than ever. Unless very famous, musicians don't make a ton of money. After well over a decade in the business, they are getting the widespread recognition they deserve. That should make the real fans happy.
I wish people would think more like you and stop being music snobs.

You know, this is my favorite performance of Tegan and Sara ever. Sara souds really amazing and I love her but what about Tegan? Her back singing it's perfect... it gives me chills every time...

Their synchronicity has always been so amazing
it's making me sick seeing TNS fans saying that they're "sellouts" all because heartthrob is pop-ish and not what they're used to.
Reality check: This is their job, their lifestyle. Who are we to tell them how to live it or work it?
For an artist to grow, they need to change, nothing can be the same forever.
If these people calling them sellouts were true fans they'd embrace whatever music Tegan and Sara create!
I for one love their old stuff though I embraced heartthrob as a new creative direction for the girls and i'm happy to do so for anything else they do!
Looking forward to hearing what the new album sounds like!
I love this rendition of Not Tonight with the little bit of Springsteen mixed in. They always sound so good singing along to acoustic songs too. Just beautiful.

I love how Tegan stares at Sara the whole song. Best version of this song I love it. And everyone calling them a sellout they aren't they even said themselves they wanted to try pop music, they wanted to expand their fan base but instead their loosing fans. You can't call yourself a TnS fan if you turned on them
Tegan Lover I agree. What many people don't understand is that years ago, Sara started to listen more to dance and hip hop so the progression on "Heartthrob" shouldn't be surprising and if it helps them gain fans, that's great too. Heck, the Lego song pumped up their exposure with their fantastic, high energy performance on the Oscars and So Jealous X was a great update of that seminal album.
I really look forward to the new album! That being said, I absolutely love their acoustic performances of old songs.

This song is on Grey's Anatomy Season 2 Episode 5 or 6. Meredith was waiting for Derek to show up at Joe's bar if he signed the divorce papers... It soo kewl to know that this is Tegan and Sara's song :)
the harmonies in this version are the absolute best, they literally bring tears to my eyes >.
Along with their cover of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time," this is probably the video on RUclips I've replayed the most. It's excellent. I'm addicted. Saw them live in the Philippines, and it was a rockier kind of concert that didn't showcase their amazing vocals as well, but it was still a blast.

You know, whenever I hear Sara sing this song live, it makes me feel at home, despite how cheesy that sounds. And I didn't think Not Tonight could get any better, but adding "I'm On Fire" makes this performance even more amazing. God, they're just spectacular musicians, and I'm so happy that they're finally going to get all the attention and publicity they deserve.

Pretty sure this is my twenty-ninth time watching this.
i had begun to think that they couldn't sing anymore after their latest album... but this performance proved me wrong. i hope their next album displays their beautiful vocals and delicate parts more :)
yeah, heartthrob let me down so much
I feel the same way. But they still always sound fantastic when they play acoustically. I think they are trying to sing to hard when playing live these days.
T&S are now sellouts in my book. I still love their old music but I can't take them seriously singing their new music. It sucks because the only reason why Heartthrob sounds the way it does is because Warner Bros basically pushed them to sound more pop, top 40 mainstream.
I watch this everyday, maybe 3 times or more. Just so simply wonderful. Added bonus of Bruce Springsteen. I love that they can put such unique twists on their old tunes to revitalize them.
