- Aloha everyone!
THIS IS JUST THE START of our week long motorcycle trip riding up from Suisun California, all the way up to Bend Oregon, and back down on the coast of California’s famous Highway 1 WITH A PASSENGER, my roommate Francis!
Roxy did an amazing job holding up. The first day was just the preparation for the rest of the week.
We were trying to make it up to Bend on the first day, but didn’t make it due to the fact we followed the wrong Highway for a good amount of time😅
We ended up bunkering down in Klamath Falls in Oregon as the sun started behind the mountains. Even though our bad map reading delayed us from Bend, I’m grateful that it turned into a beautiful and spontaneous detour and of course don’t regret anything☺️ Highway 1, here we come!

I love the Rebel! It’s definitely a starter bike😅 I’ll never sell my Rebel but I feel like I could be ready for a higher cc bike😅
Hanga ako sa lakas ng loob mo, 1,300 miles don’t know if I can do that long ride, the longest I’ve rode New York to Maryland and back after couple of days rest. Be careful riding.🤠

Hahaha, yeah, you got a little scoop of when this actually happened, but I’ve just been busy with work and packing that I hadn’t had time to do any editing… I just hope the rest of the ride turns out this good, video wise😅😂 Thanks for the constant love and support, I appreciate it man! @@LyssaWithAnE I'm always happy to support a friend, even more so when I see the natural ability to do well on top of the hard work. The bike is coming just probably later this year hopefully. I just left a 7 year job and started doing what I love so its taking a little adjustment haha
How did the bike handle and feel when you maxed out the revs in 6 gear?
Have you riding Vulcan s? How many miles did you go freeway? Wasn’t shaking over 70 mph? Now I’m try to compare rebel 500 vs Vulcan before purchasing. Thx for vid.
what seat are you using?
It’s the HRP Comfort seat! I also posted a video of switching it out from the stock seat. Definitely we’ll worth it!
No windshield too. How do you deal with the wind hitting you? What’s the secret?? I really don’t want to put a windshield on
I just delt with it😂 I would lean forward on the tank to make my body less exposed when the wind would pick up! But since that ride, I’ve gotten a windshield for another trip I’ve done to Utah and it helped so much! It’s also easily removable, so I just leave it off unless I know I’m going to do a distance ride😅

I got the Slipstream from Amazon and did exactly what you’re planning on doing! Put it on for long/windy rides, but slip it off for city rides! The Link is:

It’s just so great and versatile! Sure you may not fit in with all the other cruiser riders… But who cares. What matters is you’re on two wheels and enjoying the ride! I just love how light it is, and of course, good-looking😏 hahaha. Good luck with getting a small cruiser!😁🙌
Okay the honda rebel seat factory is so bad my lady doesn't wanna ride more then 30 mins on it so that seat you have is it actually really comfy for both riders compared to the factory seats?
Truthfully… when I first sat on it after switching them out, it HONESTLY felt just as hard, if not harder… BUT, over time while doing long rides, it’s absolutely more bearable for me on the new seat then it ever was on the stock seat…
I would really suggest a Corbin seat for TOP comfort. my buddy has one on her bike and it feels like a cloud! BUT, those are an arm and a leg… overall, what I’m trying to say is, the new seat feel just as hard at first, but while riding, it’s a lot better compared to the stock… I hope this helps🥲
Hi I'm planing to buy the rebel was it comfortable to the passenger for long ride
My friend said, no matter what, a distance ride like that is not comfortable at all… The seat for the passenger slims a bit compared to the driver, so it was like a portion of his butt was not on the seat… I hope this helped!

I appreciate the interest! We took freeways/highways going up to Oregon and most of the way back down, then only a few back roads to get thru the red woods and to Shelter Cove on the coast! So it was a mixture of both! But it was a smooth ride throughout, just a bit windy with no windshield. We still made due though! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!😁
so how did the rebel hold up on the road trip .. im thinking about getting this as my first bike and how did it hold up with traffic?
I apologize for such a late response, but the bike held up great! Traffic wise, I’ll just say that I was still passing slower vehicles with my passenger and weight! The bike never overheated (though it was cold most of the time…) and not once did I feel like I was being held back by the side or performance of my bike!
Question: How do you change you Google Map icon to a car?
That’s a good question! When you’re on Google Maps and have your route planned out click on the arrow, and it’ll give you options to change your icon! That’s how it is on iPhone anyway😅 I hope this helped!
Hi L! Nice vids! I used to ride(actually I still do) a Kawa EX500, but I bought a Rebel 500 yesterday! And your vids were part of the motivation for my choice! :D Would love to make a long trip with it as you did, as long as we'll have good weather here as in Western US! (I'm from Belgium, the weather mostly sucks here :( )

You certainly know how to have fun. What a beautiful trip. The scenery was awesome. You oughta try a SR1 trip sometime. What a beautiful road that is. Looked like the Honda was a reliable mode of transportation.
How long did it take to get to your destination on bike vs car?
In all honesty, I’d say the same amount of time. Yes, I am able to split lanes in California as a motorcycle rider, but to be safe with my passenger, I decided to go the safe route with riding throughout the entire trip. PLUS, I wasn’t going for how long it would take me to get somewhere… I went off of heading towards a specific location… and if I saw something along the way that peaked my interest, or if we needed a second to stretch at a stop or a view that was too good to miss, we would stop. If I were doing this trip in a car, it would be the exact same

Can you give us a review of how the bike handled? I'm looking at a rebel 500 and want to know how it handles long trips. Is it enjoyable? Notice any weird strains anything uncomfortable? Was the bike reliable, fast enough powerful enough ect.
WELL, I’ll say this, with how heavy our load was, it definitely took a strain on the miles per gallon😂 But it handled just nicely! Stopping needed to be a lot sooner, but the brakes never failed me!😁 Power was never an issue with a passenger, the bike still gave a lot of pull. We were still passing cars on the highway! And I think any long ride like we did would get uncomfortable after a while… Gas stretches were always needed😂
@@LyssaWithAnE Also looking at a 500 as a first bike and I want to be able to go around a bit with my partner (340lbs together). The only thing that I'm afraid of is the bike not being enough for two people + luggage. Thinking about the 1100 too, but at that price point it seems like there's other options too. In a way I just want some confirmation that the 500 will be able to pull us to 75-80mph on a highway. What do you think, Lyssa?
@MrDanklord Sweet, thanks for the reassurance. I'm not looking for any monster motorcycle as a beginner, but whenever I read people's opinions about a bike like the cmx 500+highway+pillion i always build up this picture in my head about some slug going 30mph, getting buzzed by everything haha. I love how the bike looks, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be my first, I know back in my head that it's gonna be enough and that it is probably a fun bike. So thanks again! :)

I left California a few weeks ago, but I am always willing to have a conversation about anything! I’lol be back around January timeframe but if you have any questions about the bike, I’m here! I definitely recommend you try out the 500 or even the 1100 Rebels before making any decisions though!😁

Where can I find that motorcycle luggage?
I actually got mine from a guy on facebook marketplace! But for reference, it is a Large Kurakyn Bag! Hope this helped! The bag itself is very spacious and well worth what I paid for it!

Yup, there is just so much room in there! I just checked the internet for the bag and they are sold out right now on Revzilla… I got it for a STEAL compared to how much they’re selling it on there… 1/3 of the price! I would definitely check Facebook marketplace or craigslist or even other websites before you actually purchase it!

The luggage bag is actually attached onto the luggage rack I have on my Sissy Bar! I have a video of how my sissy bar looks and the installation process of it. The link I got it from should be int that video description… I had it custom made for my bike and added the lovely pineapple as well☺️
