Great video. It's nice to see match fly fishing or "fly fishing tournaments," as they say here in the States. There needs to be more videos like this. Keep up the good work. 😁👍
Great educational video as always Lindsay. I've just tried a couple of competitions myself and enjoyed them, so I watched this video with interest. I noticed in your box of fly lines, there appears to be some kind of loop which is not the standard welded loop that normally comes with a manufacturer fly line? A quick Google search points to it being a braided loop connector that you add yourself? Maybe you could kindly do a video for newbie comp anglers like myself and pass on your knowledge of how to attach them, best manufacturer of the loop and advantage/disadvantages of the loops? Thanks Jim
Luck can play a part. However the more you practice. The harder you work with techniques. Reading the conditions on the water. Even a slight change in light conditions. Wind direction/speed temp can change not only the available food sources. The fish could change totally in what and where they are feeding. From the upper few feet to 6, 12, feet even deeper in a few mins. So easy to misread or not pick up the changes, by becoming fixated on what was working earlier. Be alert aware and flexable.
Charlie, I am sure you are missed here but console yourself with the poor fishing you now have on your doorstep 🤣. Have you now converted to river fishing?
Slowly getting to grips with the rivers over here - I have some great tutors and my experience falling in most of the UK reservoirs has served me well 😂
@@MrCharlieabrahams Great stuff, no regrets moving then pal? It has always been on my bucket list but would have to come for a month. To far to go for much less.
