i just stumbled across your videos and i have so many questions. i don’t even know where to start. i’ve been thinking about doing this for a while, and i just need that extra push. ://
You have no idea how helpful this was! I literally NEVER comment on anyone's videos or even bother watching until the end but you had me hooked. Everything you were saying I genuinely relate to so much! I stumbled across this video as I'm trying to figure out whether moving to South Korea and teaching is a good move as I feel so unfulfilled with my life currently, I'm 23 I should be thriving!!! You've given me the boost and resassurance I needed so thank you so much. I've subscribed and look forward to more content from you :)
Hannah W OMG ♥️ that makes me so happy!!! It’s just a sign you are most definitely supposed to make the move! Best of luck & thank you for the support xo
would you mind telling me like, what helped you find a job overseas etc, if you have a TEFL certificate or if your school just hired you on the spot and how the visa process went, all that jazz.
Natalie Santos hey girl! I actually just made a video called “How to teach English in Korea” that I recently uploaded it should answer all those questions ♥️
Did you learn korean at all? It sounds like you came there to focus on you which is awesome but you're in a perfect place to immerse yourself in another culture that you probably never would've otherwise.
I'm definitely not fluent...but have been practicing :) I usually head out twice a month to explore the country -- it's an amazing country that I highly recommend!
I moved to China a little over two years ago to teach English! Then moved to Cambodia and am now thinking of heading to Vietnam 😂 And I agree- if you don’t like kids or have no real interest in teaching, please think of another job! Being an ESL teacher is a lot of work and exhausting at times. But it’s definitely a life changing experience! I think everyone should try to live abroad on their own at least once.
I was also thinking of Vietnam! It's very up and coming for ESL! I 100% agree. Everyone NEEDS to live abroad on their own..so much growth and amazing experiences. Your experience sounds amazing. Would love to hear more
Hey! Very helpful video. Fellow Canadian here (did undergrad in nova Scotia and can say it's soooooooo beautiful everyone seriously needs to go) but was wondering if you could talk about why you chose public school vs a hagwon and if the tefl course really does prepare you to teach abroad. Thanks!
Kimi O Hi Kimi ♥️ I chose public school honestly because the pay was better, guaranteed 26 paid vacation days + government holidays, set hours 8:40-4:40 M-F, I was also hesitant about hagwons because all the horror stories I heard online were with hagwons (I think because they are not government owned) I think the in person course definitely does the best they can, but friends that took only online said they were still shocked when they came to teach because they didn’t have the chance to teach a lesson like I did in person...hope this helps ✨
coming from Canada, the cost of living I found MUCH cheaper! I think the rent was about 400,000 Won and utilities were very cheap, never more than 50,000 Won/month! :)
Our stories are so similar! I’m currently a secondary School teacher in England and we literally make such little money for what we do... I’m looking to get my TEFL in the new year and hopefully land a job in South Korea to teach English! Btw you look exactly like Millie Bobby Brown 💜

How about if I move there but not as a teacher. How are the living expenses? And requirements to be able to rent.
