  • My friend Alex Koehler and I run a new Rapido Canadian Pacific 4-6-0 with a tourist train on Howard Zanes Layout. Although this HO engine is not a brass import it is very nice piece. We do not sell them but you can contact Tommy Gilbert at Tommy Gilbert's Hoby shop to order one in HO scale. They come DCC with sound onboard. As promised for the new year we will be running all kinds of trains on both my layout, and Howard's layout mostly brass but some non-brass too so stay tuned. If you are looking for any Brass Canadian Pacific models for sale, contact me at alpug1@verizon.net for more info.

It is OK, but not as great to waking up to my wonderful wife, Sandy.

I love my operators/friends who care for this layout, but often they forget to turn on the power switch which fires up the signals and some of the layout lighting. Most of the signaling still works but is many years old and can use some upgrading. I'm currently living with a back condition which is non- curable, but with therapy and a mess of pills hope to again play choo choo in my basement.....but hey.........at age going on 86, I'm a happy camper. Things could be worse!!!

I studied that scene (2:00 & 3:35). Haven't found any crows flying? They must be super small. Guess my old eyes can't see them?
By the way, that loco is a beauty!

They are ghost crows! Stealth! They need to be hidden otherwise they wind up on the menu at the Whats in the Trap restaurant

Thanks for running Canadian steam. I just received my D10 ten wheeler from Rapido. Beautiful loco. All the best to you Howard and the crew. Paul🇨🇦

I'm a brass guy, but only for the inherent quality. When something this good comes on the market, I'm interested and most likely will purchase it. I'd consider buying the Hudson from Rapido, but I have several of the late run Tenshodo versions. Years back a rather pricey "unbrass" CN 4-8-4 came on the market for a retail price of around $1000. I jumped at it and although quite lovely and well packaged.....it was a total piece of crap. I could go on further, but it is not necessary.

Fun tour. Howard Zane's layout never ceases to amaze me. And, while the Rapido Train 4-6-0 engine is nice, my preference are brass steam locos. I own a few HO scale brass Canadian steam locos representing the CNR & CPR...including the "Empress". She's a beauty...ever heard of her? 😊

I love brass locos and have around 300 for the pike... all with DCC+ ready for service, but I also love quality and i immediately recognized from photos and reviews of this loco as being just great and then some. It is all of that and more.@@alpugliesetrains9753
