I've got this amp &love it but its now up for sale along with the Line FBV foot board.Too heavy for a traveller so I don't use it much.Just put about 25 hours of use.Reply if interested.
I trade my schecter omen 6 for it and I didn't paid nothing for my guitar it was a gift as far I can say I love this amp sounds very very good good quality of sounds very professional in my personal opinion
wish they would have continued the series great quietly for what it is tube always need maintenance. when i took to amp tech needed new power tubes. he was socked to see 2 biasing points. he said you generally only run in to that on higher price amps.
I wanted to love this amp, or at least the concept of it, but trying them in the stores, both new and used, I could not seem to tame them to the warm tube tones with effects I envision from the concept. Also, volume changes seem to be very unpredictable, either too loud or too low from one preset to another, etc. Sounds like it needs a built in compressor, which may already be in there somewhere, but who knows, ha?
Hey @ripleyrocks I plan on buying this amp in the next few days based on your great review. However I wanted to ask you if the amp can take pedals? Thanks!
sorry but the Flextone 3 actually sounds better...I did a side by side comparison...tubes or not, the Flextone 3 just sounds better- more harmonic and realistic sounding- especially the hi gain settings, the spider sounds artificial.
I've played this with drummers before and had no problem hitting volume needed and having room to go louder if I wanted to. I'd put it on a stand to get it up off the floor if it is was me playing a gig. If you are playing a big hall or venue, large outdoor area of course you would want to mic it up. I was really impressed by this units sound and price point.
My buddy was given one and honestly I can't figure out what people see in these. most compressed solid state sounding amp I've played. May have tube power section but preamp is all digital. Crunch was especially bad.
@Jeff T I've tried them in the stores, and they seem hard to control. So, I am surmising you are right about the learning curve. I could only get a few decent sounds out of it and volume changes were always inconsistent, quiet or too loud, etc.
Yeah just got a 212 for $100 I had a few amps but had to sell them had a old 2 ch dual rectifier (best amp) regret selling it, peavey 6505 and 6505 plus, carvin v3 head. Marshall jcm2000 dsl50 and dsl100. Honestly it doesnt compare to these amps but it's not crazy bad it's better then my marshall Avt275 for certain things but it's not an all purpose amp like the old dual rectifier I had honestly that was the best sounding amp I ever heard it hurt to sell it.
Noise Gate Presets, Tuner & More Press and hold Tap as you turn the Reverb knob up past twelve o’clock, and you turn on a built-in Noise Gate, which helps to cut down on hiss and noise. When you do this, the Channel D LED comes on to indicate that the Gate is on.

I just bought this amp yesterday. I couldn't pass it up.
I'm waiting for them to come out with a Line 7.
There’s an actual story behind their company name being a code name for a line that didn’t exist at the company they worked at.

The magic happens when you start to tailor your own tones..

Bruh it’s an all-tube modeling amp with a power-amp input. The answer is yes.

can it play well in gigs without mics being held up close to the speakers?

It's funny how every review I see of this amp they all say the same of how loud it is lol!! I agree though it is a very loud amp.
