      They don't usually attack humans cause they mostly eat berries and plants. They only eat meats when they're on special diet. I lived in Gobi for 2 years and i have seen lots of Gobi's.

    fun fact: gobi bears or mazaalai bears, are terrible parents. they will leave out their cubs for a few days, sometimes even weeks. they sit onto their cubs and won't even get up despite the cubs screaming in agony. they also don't let them have milk, the cubs only get access in secret.
    but they do teach them survival skills when they grow up tho.

    This bear only lives in Mongolian Gobi desert so not many people have heard of it. Their numbers were always very low. First found around 1920 ,there were less than 50 during 60s, 30 in early 90s. Last update from 2018,there were 28. But only 3 out of that 28 are female!!! Compare it to 22000 polar bears and 1400 pandas. At least polar bears and pandas have some chance but this bear is probably gonna go extinct in coming 12 years. I mean only 3 females left. Not much chance to survive.

    • @Bach2rehab
      @Bach2rehab 10 лет назад +18

      There's multiple things that go on after trapping. Take its measurements, tag and/or collar it for future use (mostly used on dominate males and healthy females), and finally make sure it's in good overall health. After you're done you leave it and remain in the area till the sedative wears off to guarantee its safety.

    We must stop slaughtering them for sport. Animals have
    relationships. Hope they can be saved. We have black bears where I live. Do not bother them and they will not bother you

    if they are so rare why not build up the population by bringing more bears new blood? this will help alot. I agree with msbiblebeliever

      Sounds sensible, but bears who haven't been acclimated to that environment would not survive. The North American Grizzly is a forest animal and a good part of it's diet is fish. European brown bears are similar in habitat and diet.

      They're genetically distinct from other subspecies of grizzlies. And grizzly bears with different genetics to them won't survive in that habitat. Introducing their genes to the gene pool of the Gobi bear will hurt the genetic pool of the Gobi bear that was specifically adapted to the desert environment.

    If they are so rare and they look just like any grizzly then why not build up the population by bringing more bears in this one they caught doesnt look any different then a north American brown bear, its the same spiecies, so maybe to add to the gene pool they could bring in bears from North America.
    just a suggestion, that may be the answer to saving them, its like I said, they dont look any different, and inbreeding is not good for a limited population it can create genetic problems that could hasten their demise.

    Basically, this bear has survived all this time in the Gobi desert just to end up caged by humans eventually? Wow, seriously.

      Yeah, I wish they explained more on what they're doing. They may just be getting data about the bears. Like length, sex, or even tagging some? I only know of this because I used to do that sort of thing with coast horned lizards. I'm pretty sure after getting information, they release them.

    I would prefer much less uploads of shitty content and instead good documentaries once in a ehile in the channel

      You're right, i skip most of the videos they upload, about "human" documentaries. They can save money of 10 of these documentaries to produce 1 quality episode of animals wild life.
