There is no ONE way of dribbling like Messi, The truth is, every footballer knows how to take on a defender (or should atleast)
But the fact that Messi makes it look so natural and easy is why he is the best.
Everything a good footballer tries Body feints, position of the feet or what foot he is putting all hes weight on etc..
Messi has made it a muscle memory or instinct because he has some special way of thinking or identifying these situations.
Everything that is supposed to be hard is easy for this guy.

@@rabyejlassi2785 (4 years later =) The most important thing for a developing footballer or any other passion is, use your brain and really identify your own weakness in football and make them your strong side.
Work at one thing at a time, this guy is at the highest level of play, don't expect too much, dream big but don't let that dream overshadow the short term goals and kill the work ethic. Discipline discipline and more discipline!
he got there faster than others because he really knew what to work on, and part of that reason is the academy and general talent he discovered at an early age.
Learn from great players, don't just watch and try, really study what they do and try to put it into practice.
And remember that a diamond is only a rock until it is completely filed down to perfection. The end result of a player will only shine through honce you are near completion as a player.
So NEVER give up. Or else you won't know the end result.

      @@cr7videos487 that's a subjective matter.
Very hard to compare human beings because we all have something that we are better at than others.
Unless the margin of skill is vastly superior ( like me vs Messi or Ronaldo) there is no way we can say one is better than the other because they are both Amazing at so very diffrent things.
Some situations Messi is better. Some situations Ronaldo is.
But what we all know is, we are lucky that we can witness Messi and Ronaldo play.

What I noticed about the way Messi plays:
    - like in this video, using those half-feints that shake off defenders while still allowing him to keep his direction and pace.
    - he keeps the ball until a chance for a good play develops. Attacking fast but not overly so, while mainly keeping an eye on how situations around him are developing
    - he doesn't just make the pass that seems the most logical at first; he's also looking for the play that has the best potential to generate a chance later on.
He has basically turned attacking and playmaking into the same thing, which always works and is extremely disorientating for defenders, while allowing him to generate new chances very quickly.
It's a pretty clever and simple way to play football actually.

    • @Trybical
      @Trybical Месяц назад

But also the thing is that when he is sideaways front of the keeper and there is teammate waiting for a tap-in, he scores and doesn't pass, not because he is "selfish" but because he is training and challenging himself to score from closed angles, which he manages to do, for example when he scored that solo goal against Getafe when he dribbled the keeper Eto'o was in position for tap in and Messi noticed Eto'o and there was a defender on the post after the keeper was eliminated and Leo had to shoot with his weak foot and he still insisted on scoring and he did.
i noticed the same on Henry too.

    MESSI NEVER GIVE UP

  • @andrialminangkabawi8927
    @andrialminangkabawi8927 Месяц назад +2

I have researched how messi is very good at dribbling the ball and has extraordinary ball control by using additional laws of physics. And this is the result of my research:
    1. Messi often manipulates the opponent's momentum, if you look closely, messi often cuts the ball into empty space with the right timing and sometimes added with bodyfeint when the opposing player runs fast towards him because players who run fast in a certain direction will make it difficult for him to stop his own momentum or change his own direction.
    2. Messi often uses his acceleration or changes his running speed when dribbling the ball. if you look closely, messi often uses his acceleration to pass opponents because players who have good acceleration will make it difficult for defenders to catch up. Messi will also slow himself down when dribbling the ball because by slowing yourself down, you can change direction easily and can make good decisions and use perfect technique. This is also what mbappe often does when dribbling the ball, mbappe will slow down his dribbling when facing a defender, then accelerate himself with his crazy acceleration at the right time so that the defender is left far behind.
    3. Messi has extraordinary agility and balance. This is due to Messi's short posture so that he has a low center of gravity so that he can change direction easily and is difficult for opponents to bring down.
    4. Extraordinary reaction speed. If you look closely, Messi can easily avoid every swing of the opponent's foot that will tackle him. This is because he sees the opponent's foot movement and uses the right timing to cut the ball from the opponent's tackle.
    5. Body feint, body feint will make someone think we are moving in a certain direction when in fact we are going to move in another direction. Body feint can be done by lowering the shoulders in a different direction from our movement. What's great about Messi is that he can do body feint and change direction in one movement because when I examined it, it turned out that he did it by making both of his feet in the air and as if he was going to dribble the ball in another direction, then changing direction quickly by making a strong push by lowering the shoulders when he was going to move in the actual direction. That's what makes Messi's movements difficult for defenders to predict.
    6. Protecting the ball with his body, Messi will be seen protecting the ball from the opponent's pressing by trying to keep the ball away from the opponent's feet or by turning his back on the opponent.
    7. Scanning, this is Messi's main ability that makes him very good at playing football, because by scanning, we can get information around us even on the field such as the position and movement of teammates and opponents and empty spaces so that we can make the right decisions when playing football.

The key here with Messi is to be able to confuse the opponent with his footwork. He steps with his right foot open and then dribbles with his left to the left. When he feints to the right, it's like an "elastic," but not quite the "elastic." Notice that with his left foot, he moves the ball to the left but doesn't take it too far from his foot. He quickly rolls it a bit and passes it to his right.

Whats apparent to me when I watch this video is that messi actually uses the middle rather than the outside of his foot to dribble (in a straight line I mean, which is the hardest and most important part of dribbling. He achieves this by
Lifting his leg slightly off the ground and flexing his ankle into a more vertical position. This means that he has to completely catch up to the ball before he touches it, compared to using the side of your foot when you can be a bit more relaxed about reaching the ball in time. But the clear advantage of this is that, firstly there is a geometric pattern to it, so he knows he's always aiming to approach the ball head on with his foot, therefore he can't get into bad habits over time. The main positive is that he dribbles with a foot and leg position that is entirely natural when going in a straight line. This means he doesn't need to adjust anything when he dribbles, allowing him to do it effortlessly even at full speed. Its very likely he learned this technique when he was young, and carried it on since, through bigger sized boots and bigger footballs.

People need to understand this, to be the best you don't have to do anything special.
People like Ronaldinio and Neymar are 1/100000000 case of god given talent.
It's the same whit Messi but he proves that if you do the basics over and over again you can be World Class even whithout being born whit inhuman tallent like him.
Cristiano for example uses his powerful shots and tall body to beat people in the air, something Messi can't do,and he used his own weapon to dominate football.
Moral of the story is it doesn't really matter what type of body you have as long as you are using your own physical prowess to the maximum it will work out.
